9. The Grand Commander's Welcome Event

On a bright morning, Xavier, Savana, Anggie, and Joseph arrived at the prestigious Grand Commander's reception venue. The four of them had carefully planned this visit, and now they were getting ready to check their invitation tickets to enter the event area.

When they arrived at the ticket inspection location, they coincidentally met Sheila's family, their friend who was also invited to the event. Sheila greeted them warmly with handshakes and a friendly smile.

"Hello, guys! It's great to see you here. How are you?" Sheila greeted them with a friendly and pleasant tone.

Xavier, who knew Sheila well, smiled faintly and responded to her greeting. "We're doing well, Sheila. You look amazing."

Savana, standing beside Xavier, held his arm and gazed at Sheila in awe before offering a compliment. "Indeed, your outfit is stunning!"

"You must have been looking forward to this event, haven't you?" Anggie asked Sheila.

Sheila nodded enthusiastically and gestured towards her parents. "Yes, I'm very excited! Let's enter together."

They continued towards the ticket inspection together, talking about their preparations and expectations for the event. Xavier also noticed how skilled Sheila was at communicating with people, even in serious situations like this. She was different from her siblings, just like Savana, with a sincere heart.

After successfully passing the ticket inspection, they entered the large event area. As the event was being broadcast live on television, they saw many cameras ready to capture important moments.

Xavier looked at Savana and asked, "This is truly spectacular, isn't it?"

Savana nodded enthusiastically, smiling broadly. "Absolutely, I can't wait to see the Grand Commander."

Anggie, who was also proud because her family could attend the event, whispered, "My family will definitely be watching this at home. They're very proud."

Joseph agreed, hugging Anggie's arm. "This is a rare opportunity. Let's enjoy every moment."

Meanwhile, at the Smith family's house, the large television screen became the center of attention. They watched the welcoming ceremony with high hopes. When the camera accidentally focused on Xavier, the expressions of the Smith family immediately changed.

Grandpa Smith stared at the screen and nervously asked the others, "Is that... is that Xavier?"

Janiska, who was there, responded in disbelief, "It can't be! How is that possible?"

Grandpa Smith, who was quite certain, told all of his children and grandchildren. He began to feel dizzy and looked for something to hold onto. "I'm sure it's him! Please, check again!"

While the Smith family tried to find out more, Peter, one of their grandchildren who was present, felt angry and humiliated by what he saw on television.

Peter, emotionally upset, said something to Grandpa Smith, "This is embarrassing, Grandpa. I can't bear to see this."

Grandpa Smith nodded in agreement. He thought that Xavier must have taken and represented the Smith family to attend the event. So, he felt resentful towards Xavier. "We must contact Xavier immediately."

Peter promptly called Xavier to inform him of the situation.

Meanwhile, at the reception, Xavier, Savana, Anggie, and Joseph continued to enjoy every moment. They were unaware of how shocked the Smith family and the Cooper family, who disliked Xavier, were at the main house. However, the surprises would continue as they tried to contact Xavier and tell him about this unfairness.

"Just a moment, Peter is calling me," Xavier said as he looked at Savana with a gentle smile. Without leaving his seat because the outdoor atmosphere was filled with many people, Xavier was about to answer Peter's call. They were all invited guests, and their seats were designated according to the names on their invitations.

Savana just nodded briefly, giving Xavier permission.

"Hello, why are you calling me?" Xavier greeted. He was sure Peter was calling him because he must have seen him on television.

"Why are you there? Did you get an invitation from the Grand Commander through the Cooper family, huh?" Peter asked angrily.

"No, I've told you I didn't use anyone's family name here. I could attend and get in here because I could and deserved it. I've already dealt with it," Xavier replied calmly.

"Damn! How dare you sound so arrogant? Who do you think you are? Did you intentionally use the Smith surname to get in there alone and kick all of us out, is that right?"

"I've already told you, I didn't use anyone's family name here. I could attend and enter here because I could and deserved it. That's it. The event is about to start." Xavier hung up the call with Peter unilaterally and put his phone back in his pocket.

"Why? Did Peter insult you again?" Savana asked as soon as Xavier finished his call.

"No, he was just asking about the Grand Commander's invitation. It's not a big deal because I've handled it," Xavier replied, smiling at Savana before refocusing on the stage in front of them.

Xavier had already asked Leo to arrange for him and Savana's family to sit in the front row. It turned out that his family looked happy and did not expect such special treatment.

The event began with Leo coming out in casual attire, wearing a thin black t-shirt that highlighted his muscular body. He also used a small microphone attached to his lips.

"Good morning, everyone. Thank you for attending the Grand Commander's welcome event," Leo greeted everyone with a wide smile.

"Good morning, Grand Commander!" the crowd shouted enthusiastically.

Xavier couldn't believe that the girls would scream as soon as they saw Leo.

Leo smiled gently and gave a nod of appreciation. "I apologize in advance, but I just want to inform you that the Grand Commander cannot be present here to meet all of you. So, I, as his assistant, will stand here in his place. I hope you won't be disappointed and will continue to enjoy this event until it ends. If you're curious about who the Grand Commander is, there will be a time because he's not the kind of person who wants to stand here and be welcomed and respected by many people. He's a humble person who doesn't like to reveal his identity openly. I, as his assistant, apologize to all of you, and I hope for your understanding. But whatever you want to convey, I will certainly convey it to the Grand Commander. So please, enjoy the event."
