Chapter 38:

Joseph stepped out of the bathroom. He returned to the living room, holding the half-finished cup of tea.

“Coco...” Joseph wanted to say something but stopped.

Joseph’s hesitant demeanor surprised Coco slightly. It was the first time she had seen him so indecisive.

“What is it? Just say it!”

Joseph pondered for a moment, then ultimately decided to tell Coco about his plan.

“I’m planning to move somewhere else to live.”

“What? What are you saying?” Coco exclaimed, abruptly standing up. Joseph’s words felt like a bucket of cold water splashed in her face.

“Why would you even think of that? Don’t you live here just fine? Aren’t your friends and important people here?” Coco hastily continued.

Joseph remained silent. Only those involved truly understood everything; appearances could be deceiving. The black car tailing him today could be a warning. When the camouflage layer disappeared, he would face many dangers.
