"Honourable…"

“Rex, forget it already. Whoever tried to kill you won't be doing it again anytime soon. They will wait for the right moment. Think about it, in this condition, especially if you have The Red God in you, everyone will think twice about doing it. At the very least, they'd think of an effective way to do it, right?" the High Priest asked me, interrupting me casually.

I gulped. Everything he said seemed to make perfect sense. Taking a deep breath, I finally nodded. At least I've told him what I'm worried about.

“Don't worry, Rex Hito. Even though you have become a general, I have accepted you as my apprentice, so I will still be your teacher,” said the High Priest.

Those words relieved me a bit as if the old man could read my mind just now.

“Now, rest Rex Hito. We have a big day ahead."

"Very well, Your Majesty," I replied.

I then stood up and lowered my head, then quickly turned around to let the old man rest and not disturb him anymore.

  • Totem Warrior   Going to the Castle Wasn't Like I Imagined

I discouraged myself from asking anything else because now my focus is on filling my stomach as much as possible. Who knew that I would have to encounter bad things on my way to the palace. After all, didn't the High Priest say yesterday that he would come with me to the palace? Why did Rais Musi say that only I was summoned to the palace? Was forming an alliance between tribes something very special that the king paid so much attention to? This is nonsense. However, I pushed all those thoughts out of my head and continued to finish my food. After it was used up, I felt that my strength wasn't full enough. I looked at the women in the kitchen, it seemed that these women didn't want to give me more food and wanted me to just leave. So I decided to take my own food. When I got to my feet and walked further into the food pantry, the women ran away, some shrieking with fright. I don't care about them. I immediately took a few pieces of meat and put it on a plate. I also took a large jug o

  • Totem Warrior   Journey to the Palace

Noe trembled, but he immediately stood before me. A second later, Noe knelt down and raised his hand towards me. I didn't understand at first, but then Noe looked at the sacks I brought. I immediately handed it over to Noe's trembling hands to let everyone be sure that I did accept Noe to go with me. Noe accepted it and immediately carried it on his skinny shoulders. "If it's ready we have to leave now," said the palace soldiers. Noe immediately stood up and went behind me. I sighed and walked after the soldier. They opened the door for me, but Noe wasn't allowed in with me, even though the carriage was still quite roomy. “At least let him sit in the back of the train. I-I, I mean… I have to be close to all my valuables that I brought in that sack,” I said. I don't want Noe to get into any more trouble because of me but I also wouldn't have the heart to let her run all the way to the palace carrying all my stuff. "All right, General. Now come in," said one of the palace soldiers.

  • Totem Warrior   The Winged Man and the Soap Bubble

I don't know what's going on. Is this soap bubble that surrounds us so dangerous? However, I dare not be careless. I quickly tried to dig into Rex's mind but he knew nothing about this. Several soldiers tried to penetrate the soap bubble that was now dome-like around us, but instead, they were blown away. They used swords to stab it but to no avail.A soldier picked up the miniature bazooka-shaped gun from his feet and immediately shot it toward the wall of soap bubbles."Don't!" I shouted. But it was too late, the soldier had already done it. I just found out that the little bazooka shoots something like light waves. However, just as I expected, the wall of soap bubbles bounced it back at the soldier. The light wave hit his body, right in his chest, making a large burning hole in his chest. Burnt blood and flesh scattered everywhere right after."Who are you? Show yourself!" cried commander Ruve.I saw the confident faces of these palace soldiers suddenly disappear. It scared me. No

  • Totem Warrior   These People Are Psychopaths

Ruve took me back to where we camped and dropped me there."Are you sure you're okay?" Ruve asked me."I'm fine, really," I replied."What did he do to you?" he asked with searching eyes.I'm speechless. I just realized that he must be asking that and I don't have a lie to answer yet. I can't possibly tell Ruve the truth because it could be fatal. However, what is a reasonable answer to all of this? It would be very suspicious if that guy just let me be and didn't hurt me in the least. What should I say?“H-he—”"You look completely unharmed," Ruve said again as he walked over to me."I-I don't know either. He dropped me between the trees, then just walked away. Maybe he wants to leave me to be eaten by wild animals,” I replied. That's the best thing I can think of right now."What? It looks very cute. He messed up just to put you in the middle of the forest to be eaten by beasts?” Ruve asked me again."Who knows? How would I know what the plan is,” I replied with a shrug, feigning ig

  • Totem Warrior   The Capital Is Not What I Imagined

I turned my thoughts to my image of the capital. When I imagined it, the first thing that came to my mind was a magnificent and civilized ancient city, like what I often see in medieval movies. Soldiers in armor, people in proper attire, bustling bazaars, and houses made of piled stones. Then in the middle there is a magnificent palace where the king lives.'Looks like we're close,' said Rex in my mind.I looked out the window and found that Rex was right. I don't know how he knew, but I actually saw a city in the distance. The high walls were visible and they were all made of stones piled high, just like I imagined. I could almost imagine that a dragon would emerge from the city, just like the movies I'd seen in theaters. I smirked at that. Maybe if I come back to my world later, I'll never watch those kind of movies again.A while later, we were getting closer to the city and I could see Noe was more enthusiastic. We will actually arrive at the capital and that is the dream of every

"Clean clothes are in the cupboard and I suggest you take a shower thoroughly," Mae said again, looking me up and down in disdain as if looking at a pile of excrement.I see myself. Rex's body stinks so I don't blame Mae. I can't even remember the last time I bathed this emaciated little body.'Hey! Stop insulting me!’ Rex shouted."I will leave you guys. Rest and prepare well. The king will meet you at dinner, "he said again. He was about to leave, but I called him back."Wait!" I shouted.Mae stopped walking and turned around."Anything else?" he asked me.“I-I was just curious. What should I wear to dinner with the King? Can Noe come with me?” I asked.“Everything in the wardrobe has been prepared for your meeting with the King, you can choose. As for this slave of yours… He can wait here. I'll make sure he gets some food while he's waiting for you,” he replied, glancing at Noe briefly."Okay," I replied.Noe also seemed relieved that he could just stay here and not have to meet te

  • Totem Warrior   He Was Nothing Like I Have Imagined

I was still thinking about the capital, but when I closed my eyes I felt so exhausted and the warm water lulled me into a deep sleep. I was so asleep that I don't know what happened. Next thing I know I woke up to Noe knocking on the bathroom door.“Rex! Rex Hito! You hear me?” he asked in a panicked voice."Yes? What's wrong Noah?"I was a little taken aback by this, but it occurred to me that I had probably been asleep long enough for my fingers to wrinkle."Are you okay? You didn't come out and didn't make a sound for quite a while, I was a little worried," he said."I'm fine, Noah. Just overslept. I'll be out in a minute," I replied."Okay then," he replied.I immediately finished my bath and my body felt very fresh and fragrant. It's been a very long time since it's been like this. I picked up a cloth very similar to the towels in my world. I quickly dried myself with the towel, then put on the clothes I had chosen. I looked at my face, erm I mean Rex's face, in the mirror, then

“Your Majesty,” I said in surprise as I bowed deeply.“Get up. We will start the dinner because I am hungry,” said the man."Yes, Your Majesty," I replied.I then sat back in my seat and tried to pay attention to everyone around me. I can't miss a single hint. After all I have to imitate their movements in front of the king.“Serve the food,” said the King.Quickly, the waiters brought the food. They brought trays of silver, including towards me. They served a large amount of food in front of me and I was surprised that these foods weren't beast meat at all. Even though it was a very large size, I could see some kind of normal chicken, beef, and fish. This is definitely not beast meat. I also saw some kind of cream soup for appetizer and grapes as big as apples. This is food similar to the food in my world. People in the capital don't eat beast meat?‘There is no beast meat. Food like this will not replenish your strength, Ares,' said Rex in my mind. He whispered, but no one would hea
