Lucas then read the letter again carefully before he burned both the envelope and letter with magical fire to ensure no one knows about it. He then sat on his couch as he thought about all the information he had gotten. Though it wasn't much he was someone who believed that knowledge is power and is needed if one needs victory.
'If what I know about both kingdom's is true then it will not be much time before they go to war with eachother. There's going to be many casualties in the war and maybe some of the members of the noble families might perish at the war. If that happens then I might be able to use that chance to increase the strength of my own clan.' Lucas thought to himself. Then he thought about the tension between the two kingdoms about the piece of land which both are debating for. That particular information stuck in his mind.'Wait, if both the kingdoms are focusing on that particular land then doesn't that mean the other territories aren't under that tight supervision. If that's the case then I might be able to use this time to my advantage.' Lucas thought to himself as he got up as he looked outside."If all goes well then I might have a chance to rise in power. I can't help but feel that something is wrong with all of this. I mean, how did that cave go unnoticed all this time considering the fact that it wasn't even sealed. Either I'm being too paranoid or there is something bigger going on around here." Lucas said seriously as he looked at the setting sun.The next day Lucas had donned a disguise and was checking out the borders of the two kingdoms and had found some interesting things in there. He was currently at an unguarded border which wasn't used much as he was crouched on the ground as he looked at what seemed to be tracks. He searched around the area for sometime and then used his magic to teleport out of there. He then appeared at an area southwest of Norway as he also found tracks there."These seem more recent and judging by how deep the ground is it was something heavy or it was in large quantities. I better keep an eye on these two places. I can't have any variables in this." Lucas thought to himself as he investigated the area and then left the place again. His next destination was the cave which had minerals and gems in it. It was heavily guarded but he was able to go past the guards using illusion magic which he used to mask his presence. He entered the cave and went deeper into it and was met with many ores of minerals and gems. His eyes widened a bit when he saw the scenery but narrowed them as he looked at the ores."As I thought something fishy is going around here." Lucas said as he looked at the ores.At first he didn't see anything wrong but after looking at them more closely he could see the traces of magic on the ores. Since it was too faint and he was not still that proficient in magic he couldn't find the source. But it was clear that these ores were created or formed due to someone else's machinations. And it was rather convenient that both of the kingdoms discovered the came in a short while. Lucas had a very serious look on his face as he contemplated what he had seen. He knew that whoever did this wanted the two kingdoms to go to war and was certain he was very proficient in magic."Well, it looks like things are getting much more complicated." Lucas thought to himself as he had a nervous look as he went around getting more information. Now it is the day for Lucas' duel with Oskar Rehbindr. During the 2nd day before his duel he had been training and also investigating around the land where the cave filled with minerals and gems was located. He had found traces of magic in the ores of the minerals and gems and the cave which only made him more suspicious about the whole thing. He had also did some investigating around his own territories and had found signs of movement between the territories of Norway and Sweden. He was getting more suspicious of the happenings around the kingdom. He knew he had to be vigilant about the things that is happening in the kingdom. Right now he was at the waiting room waiting to be called by the people for his match in the arena. He was dressed in armor covering his chest, shoulders, arms, legs and iron boots. He also had a longsword which he was twirling in his hands relatively easily. He was thinking about his plans for the not so near future when he heard his name being called. In response he sheathed his sword and started walking towards the arena as his armor was clanking as it met with the floor. He reached the door was he was met with the large number of people who were present to watch the duel.He could see that the people sitting at the top were wearing clothes of the high class. There were knights in the arena who were ready to protect the nobles if the need arises. He also managed to find his parents among the people as they nodded to him with encouraging eyes while his mother also seemed a bit worried. There were also middle class citizens towards the bottom of the arena as they had come to watch the match. He then looked at the place where the royal family was seated guarded by knights. At the middle was the King, Arvid Von Ascheberg, who was seated on a large throne which was decorated a bit. He had silver hair which reached his shoulders, red eyes and a beard and moustache along with a crown. He was in his kingly garbe as he had a serious look. He was eyeing Lucas as he walked. Then he turned his eyes to the queen Signe Von Ascheberg. She was seated to the left of the king in a throne which was a bit shorter than the kings. She had light blonde hair and blue eyes as she had a tiara on her head as her head was in a ponytail. She was dressed in a queenly dress which showed her grace and beauty. She looked at Lucas with curious eyes. Then Lucas'gaze finally fell on the princess Olivia Von Ascheberg. She had the characteristic silver hair of the royal family and piercing red eyes. She had a smaller tiara than her mother as her hair reached down to her waist. The light from the sun made her hair glow. She was wearing a princess's dress which was the colour of silver. She had a serious look on her face as she had an air of superiority around her as she looked at Lucas.Lucas met her gaze but immediately broke it in favour of looking at his opponent who was walking closer to him. Oskar was walking to Lucas with shining armor as an arrogant grin was plastered on his face. His armor was mainly red with gold linings. He also had a one handed sword in his waist as he stood a few metres in front of Lucas.'Well, let's get this show on the road.' Lucas thought to himself as placed him hand on the hilt of his sword.Latest Chapter
Chapter 70
Lucas laid the princess on the floor as he looked at Andvaranaut and Kriemhild who were also on the floor, fainted from the battle and attacks that they were hit with as he looked at Aslaug as the girl looked at him as they nodded to each other. Then they looked at the prince and got ready with their weapons as they kept their eyes on the mage with the prince. "You actually attacked the princess." Eric said to Lucas with a raised eyebrow. "The situation was such that it had to be done. When we take care of you, this will end." Lucas said to the prince with narrowed eyes. "Do you really think that you will be able to defeat me? We shall see." Eric said to the warrior with a smirk. He then raised his right hand and shot a beam of energy at the two of them as they immediately grabbed the downed allies and jumped away as they realised that they would be hurt by the attack. The two of them placed them at the side before charging right at the prince as the prince started to do scatt
Chapter 69
Olivia couldn't believe what was happening right now. She had entered the throne room, ready to fight against the enemy prince. But right after she had dodged the energy attack from Eric, a smaller attack had hit her, and to her surprise she didn't feel any pain from him, which was confusing for her and concerning. And then before she was able to think about the attack, her body moved forward, her arms curled around the shaft of her spear as she slashed her spear, right towards Lucas. This alarmed her as she wasn't able to stop herself as she felt fear, and then relief when he had parried her attack and pushed her back. But then she saw Master Andvaranaut attack him with his spear as well as he also parried the attack and made the man fall back. And she saw Kriemhild attacking him from behind as he was moving to protect himself, but Aslaug appeared as she met with Kriemhild and pushed her back which gave her more relief. Which was when Olivia saw the yellow glow in her master'
Chapter 68
Lucas and his companions stormed the palace as they charged in through the main door and ran as they didn't find any guards there, but they kept running to find the mage and stop this war. They ascended a flight of steps to get to the throne room. But they were met with the sight of more than 100 soldiers who were ready with their weapons as they immediately honed in on the intruders. "Attack!" The commander shouted as the soldiers ran. Arrows and magic flew towards them as Lucas and Aslaug charged forward and sliced the magical attacks while the others followed their lead while dodging the arrows as the enemy soldiers were charging at them at the same time. Olivia wreathed her spear with lightning as she threw it as it sailed through the air and impaled through a line of soldiers and stabbed through the heart of a mage, before it yanked itself out and flew back towards Olivia as she grabbed it as she met the soldiers blades with her alongside the rest. Andvaranaut had noticed ho
Chapter 67
Lucas and his group charged through the territory as they passed by civilians and soldiers, the latter of which they dispatched off pretty quickly, as it was quite easy for Lucas to do so with his magic. He also had held from Olivia and Andvaranaut as they also used their spears to shoot lightning at the enemies, the two weapons were given to them by the court mage and they were pretty reliable weapons. Aslaug watched them and frowned as her own sword is unable to do the same thing, which makes her limited in terms of range, which in hindsight would've been useful when she had first fought against Lucas. 'Hmm, I guess that is a limitation I have.' Aslaug thought to herself as she rode the horse as they charged at the castle. Of course, the way to the castle wasn't quite easy as there were soldiers that tried to kill them but they were dispatched off quickly as they made the horses run faster as they felt the wind over their faces and skin as they charged, it was true for Lucas,
Chapter 66
Lucas felt his power increase as the runes were becoming more attuned to his body as his own body was getting used to them as well as they were harmonizing as he ran towards the golems and his own brats as the others followed on their foot as they charged at the enemies. Alpha and the rest of the boys also noticed their Lord and the army coming towards them with Lucas at their helm. the guy himself nodded to them as he approached as they smiled at his acknowledgement, but focused back on the battle as they knew that it had more priority at the moment. Lucas charged forward, not about to let this opportunity go by as Aslaug immediately followed after him, being the only one who is equal ground to him, followed by Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild as they charged. He reached the nearest golem as his sword sang as he slashed it's leg as he passed one of his boys as he slashed off its right arm, grabbed it to have leverage before he plunged the sword into the golems head, got a foot
Chapter 65
Lucas couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the golems that were attacking them as he couldn't help but squint his eyes as he saw the things. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things. By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet. Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done. "Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault. "It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don
