Chapter 7: The scary monster guy

Alex's body turned cold, his eyes were trying to hide away from the person who just killed three people without any difficulty in just some seconds.

" I...I thought I was trying to help a poor soul, how come he became a dangerous hunter instead? ", Were Alex's exact thoughts at this moment.

He wanted to stay hidden, hidden from that hunter who had just mercilessly killed someone.

Despite being the cruel world, which was no other than virtual reality, it was hard for Alex to believe in such a cruel method.

He slid down on the ground once he realized what situation he was in, his body gave in, and there was no way he was not scared of that victim person.

His body was shaking heavily, unable to think about something else.

While that victim just wiped the blood from his cheeks with bare hands, he looked the way where Alex was hiding. And a vile smile appeared on his face.

No matter how blurred the scenery was, there was no way he couldn't detect the bullet which was shot from the direction of the huge rock behind him.

He stood up straight, dusting off his clothes as he glanced over the dead bodies which still had some life left in them while the blood was still gushing out from the wounds he created on their bodies earlier. But he looked away as if those people were just some pests in his way and mattered no more than that.

" Do you mind coming out yourself, or want me to help you? ", He shouts in a cold tone.

There was no one in that cave besides the five. Three were on the verge of death and the two were alive, one was hiding away like a rabbit while the other one was hunting like a Hunter and waiting for his prey...

The room temperature dropped to minus once his voice came out and rang in Alex's ears.

He was feeling bone-chilling cold earlier, but the situation was even worse now that he heard how cold and bone-chilling that voice was.

" You....you are doomed. You tried to save the monster which was in the clothes of the rat ", Alex mumbled in his mind, he was in no position to deny that person's existence.

He had seen him already, there was no way he could mishear or play deaf.

Even though Alex was shaking in fear and had the desire to just take the knife and stab it into his stomach, he might come to his senses by then.

His heart was beating fast, he immediately put his hand on his torso and took out the Dagger he picked from the dead person an hour ago.

Alex took a deep breath as he touched his chest and then started to take mini steps ahead, coming out slowly and revealing himself.

But what he didn't expect was that that person to directly come in front of him out of nowhere and stood like a rock...a merciless and cold-hearted rock on top of that who only knew how to crush others when they tried to crack or break him.

"Ahhhh....", Alex screamed internally as he dared not to scream out under the influence of that merciless monster.

His steps wobble, there was no way that monster wouldn't understand Alex was scared of him.

" Why did you fire the gun earlier ", The cold voice came out from that monster-looking guy.

Alex was of course shocked when seeing how he was asked the question by a total stranger.

" Speak....".

That person sure had a cold demeanor surrounding him as if it belonged to him. And Alexander was just like a tiny chicken in front of him...

" I...I saw they were bullying you and one was going to shoot you in the head, so I just aim at his leg to stop him from killing you ", Alex answered honestly, stuttering but in scared composure.

He heard him and was quite amused. It was the first time someone had tried to help him after he entered this world.

He was all cold and grumpy, merciless a while ago. But after hearing Alex's sweet words, his heart softened...he smirked. Making Alex go into shivers again.

But his mood was lightened, never thought he would smile after so long, but it was scary. His smirk was not ordinary but the devil's which was enough to take Alex's Soul away from his body.

" Why are you shivering? ", He asked, his voice strolling cruel and cold.

" N....nothing ", It's the only answer which could come out of his mouth at this point. He was in no position to choose as he was uncertain when this scary person would kill him.

" I will not kill you, so ease yourself ", He said while looking straight into his eyes.

It was quite difficult to believe but the sincerity in his eyes was no joke.

Alex took a breath again but didn't set the knife aside and kept his guard on.

Mike saw the tiny movements and understood it was hard to make one lower their guard after seeing how merciless one was.

Whatever, since the person seems to be this scared, there's no way Mike would say one sentence the second time to make things even more suspicious.

" You helped me earlier even though it was pointless but whatever, just come here and take if you want something or see anything that catches your attention ", Mike was pretty blunt.

He didn't care how scared or anything Alex was but made his command...

" Can I....", Alex brightened up.

No matter how scared he was before. But the news that he could pick anything valuable from those dead was huge good news to him.

They both then walk down and look at the three dead people.

Mike and Alex were like two strangers, stuck in the same world. One was experienced in a deadly world and another one was just a newbie...

Alex sneaked glances at him. But no matter how much he looked, there was no way he could see that the guy in front of him was a gentleman because he was more like a beast and a monster while killing others.

Mike killed them, not because he wanted to. But these three were making things difficult for him. He would never have picked up the weapon if they were to live silently, and not taken advantage of those poor people...

" Bastards ", The only word for them that came out of his mouth for three.

Mike bent down and started looking for stuff inside.

Anything solid.

Alex stayed on the side, he dared not to look at them. The blood stench and everything were making him sick in the stomach and the feeling of throwing out everything was luring him.

Mike took out everything that those three had in their backpack and clothes and placed them on the side. He was wondering...

It had been more than five minutes but that guy was still not looking this way and had his head on the other side.

" How did you survive till now with that soft demeanor of yours? ", He couldn't help but ask that question to him.

Because Alex looked not scary from any angle.

And the next words which Alec spoke made him even more shocked.

" I just entered inside an hour or two ago, I am a newbie ", Alex spoke.

Mike was baffled. He was meeting a newbie after so many days. His hands were free in the air and he looks over at him.

" You are a newbie? how can that be possible...", Mike seemed to be surprised for some reason. But what was his reason?

" Why do you think it's abnormal? ", Alex scratches his cheeks and sits down on the ground, and folds his legs together.

He was amazed to see those shocking expressions on Mike's face.

" It's been fifteen days since I heard about any newbie. All people including me are old players here ", It was his answer to everything.

" Huh? fifteen days? but it's been just two hours since we restricted all the new users to enter inside ", He mumbled.

Before entering the game, he specially ordered his team to restrict all the new players and those who were players for ten minutes before the order to forcefully exit the Virtual Survival Instinct.

At most, the time was only two or more hours for the forceful shutdown. But to think it has already been fifteen days here....it was something that made Alex confused.

" The time inside the game is different from the outside world. Does one week inside the game mean only an hour outside? ", he was pondering over and over again.

" Hey! why do you seem so lost? did I say something wrong for you to react this way? ", Said Mike as he stopped checking the bodies for ornaments and looked straight into his eyes.

" Ahh! No...I am fine, I was just a little shocked to know that I am the most recent player here ", Said Alex as he diverted the topic in his favor.

He can't just tell anyone that he was the one to make the game where all of them were stuck.

" Then...you must be stuck inside right? ".
