Revealing Lian's Lies

Ruby's Residence.

"Lian, does your father's friend know who the mysterious sole heir of the Lekston family is?" Maike asked.

"What's wrong, uncle?" Lian asked back before answering Maike's previous question.

"Gabe came to the company to replace Ruby in signing the cooperation agreement, but the sole heir of the Lekston family said that he would only discuss business matters with Ruby," Zerin explained.

"Quickly put the drink in front of Lian!" Merta ordered after Luc stepped closer with a tray.

"Mom, don't be rude," Ruby warned and Merta did not respond.

"Oh ... of course it was because of Dad's help. Actually, Dad forbade me to say this, but since you already know, I can't hide it anymore." Lian justified all kinds of ways to attract Zerin's attention and also her parents.

"Now you don't need to worry anymore, Ruby, because the cooperation contract will still be yours," Zerin said.

"Say thank you from me to your father, Lian." Ruby spoke while looking at Luc who was still standing beside her.

“Is it true that your father helped Ruby?” Luc asked and that made Lian’s body tense.

“Of course, you doubt my words,” Lian said with an angry expression to cover up her nervousness about Luc’s unexpected question.

“Trash, watch your words,” Merta snapped angrily.

“Then call your father now! I want to hear what he has to say, is it true that he helped Ruby?” Luc spoke firmly and bravely.

Cold sweat began to fill Lian’s knuckles from under the table.

“Just call your father Lian, and show him the truth that your father helped Ruby.” Zerin spoke calmly because she trusted Lian who was her close friend so much.

“Father must be busy,” Lian said trying to cover up her stupidity.

“Just do it, rather than Luc continuing to find trouble with you,” Merta said who wanted to embarrass Luc because her suspicions were wrong.

“Okay.” Lian closed her eyes as she pressed the green button on the flat screen.

Lian's heart beat very fast when she heard her father's voice on the phone.

'What's the matter that made you call Dad?'

'Luc accused Lian of lying about Dad helping Ruby.'

'Didn't Dad tell you to keep everything a secret! They don't need to know how far Dad helped Ruby in this matter.' After speaking, the phone call was cut off unilaterally.

Lian sighed in relief, because everything went according to his wishes. After putting the phone on the table, Lian stared sharply at Luc.

Luc grinned sarcastically after listening to Lian and his father's lies.

"Now you've heard for yourself what my father said." Merta and Zerin stared at Luc with eyes that seemed to emit flames.

"Trash, apologize to Lian now, you've heard for yourself that your accusations are wrong!" Merta ordered by emphasizing using one of her index fingers pointing at Luc.

Zerin growled angrily when she saw Luc still showing a flat face, Zerin felt that Luc's attitude had changed a little, unlike his usual obedient and quiet self.

"Ruby, why are you just watching all this! Quickly tell Luc to apologize to Lian, remember if it weren't for Lian you wouldn't have been able to pass the selection to become a partner for a company that big." Zerin reminded Ruby again of Lian's kindness.

Ruby took a deep breath and then looked at Luc. "Luc, apologize to him now."

Ruby felt annoyed when she saw Luc just silent and busy with the cellphone in his hand. Merta and Zerin were even angrier seeing Luc dare to ignore Ruby.

"I thought you were just poor, but you are also shameless, it's clear that you accused someone wrongly but you don't want to apologize," Lian said with her arms folded across her chest with an arrogant face

Lian's cellphone on the table vibrated and it distracted everyone's attention. Lian frowned when she found out her father was calling.

"Lian, pick up the phone, who knows it's important," Zerin said after reading the name on the flat screen.

"Okay," Lian answered with a heavy heart.

"Don't forget to raise your voice so we can all hear." Luc spoke with a flat face.

Merta held back her emotions seeing the attitude of her rude daughter-in-law.

'Lian, don't lie to the Crowwel family members anymore, tell them that Dad never helped Ruby at all, all this time Dad just followed where your conversation was headed. You solve the problem you created yourself and never involve Dad again.’ After speaking, Lian’s father simply hung up the phone again.

Lian swallowed his saliva roughly when he saw the horrified gazes of everyone in the room at him.

Lian looked at Luc who was grinning in satisfaction. Luc had been busy with his cellphone because he asked Alan to pressure Lian’s father, that was the reason Lian’s father admitted all his lies.

“Can you explain this.” Maike who had been silent all this time began to speak up.

Lian swallowed his saliva roughly then lowered his head, his two hands that were already sweating coldly clasped each other.

“You all heard what my father said on the phone, everything he said was true.” Lian who had lost face in front of Ruby’s family couldn’t say much

“Why did you say that your father helped Ruby at that time?” Zerin asked with her chest heaving to hold back her emotions.

“Sorry Zerin, I was just trying to take advantage of the situation.” After speaking Lian raised her gaze. “Zerin, I really didn’t mean anything bad, I just wanted to get your attention.”

“Shut up Lian! Get out of this house now.” Merta spoke loudly.

“Auntie, I’m sorry,” Lian said with her head lowered.

“Lian, you should go home first, you have to reflect on this mistake so that it won’t happen again in the future.” Ruby spoke firmly.

“Once again, I’m sorry.” After speaking, Lian immediately stood up, she glared at Luc before walking away. “I’ll get back at you later Luc,” Lian said to herself.
