Chapter 3 - The Nobody celebrity.

The Hall was deathly silent as everyone processed what they had just heard. Then, the silence was broken by a voice of disbelief and mockery.

"I don't believe it," the celebrity said. "There's no way he could have actually called the manager."

"It must have been a fake call," someone else chimed in. "There's no way he could have gotten through to him."

But then, a third voice spoke up. "But what if he did?" they said. "What if he really did talk to the manager?"

The room erupted into a heated debate, with everyone arguing their point of view while Jeremy stood there without saying a word to them.

The silence from Jeremy only made the female celebrity more angry. She felt that he was mocking them, and she couldn't stand it.

She turned to the security guard and said, "Get this man out of here! He's only here to make trouble, and we don't need that."

Without a second thought, the security guard began to walk towards Jeremy, determined to remove him from the premises. But before he could even reach him, the door to the boardroom burst open and Jefferson, the company's manager, came rushing in.

As Jefferson approached, he lowered his head in a gesture of respect and apology. "I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting, sir," he said, his words tumbling out in a rush. "It was an oversight on my part, and I promise it won't happen again."

Everyone in the room watched with a mixture of amusement and incredulity as Jefferson bowed his head to the shabbily dressed commoner. How could he possibly think that this man was someone of importance, when he looked like a complete nobody? And to make matters worse, Jefferson was even trembling in the man's presence, as if he were in the presence of royalty. It was all so absurd.

Jefferson was a man known for his bluntness and hot temper. He doesn't tolerate any stupidity from his workers, and his presence alone was enough to make them tremble. He was a man of few words, but when he did speak, his words were always powerful and to the point. No one dared to cross him, and those who did often found themselves on the receiving end of his wrath. But here he was, fidgeting as he spoke to Jeremy, a clear sign that something was off. It was a rare sight to behold, and it left everyone in the room feeling uneasy.

The tension in the room was palpable, and it was clear that something was going on behind the scenes. But no one dared to speak up, for fear of angering Jefferson even further. They all waited with bated breath, but the celebrity spoke,

"Sir, I'm certain you're mistaken," the female celebrity said, her shock giving way to indignation. "This man was trying to sneak into the premises without proper clearance. He's clearly a thief."

"And who are you?" Jefferson questioned the young celebrity.

"I am one of your new signees, here at Blue Silver," the young celebrity explained, her tone growing more confident. "I was recently contracted last month, and as such, I'm not very well-known around here yet. Perhaps that's why you don't recognize me sir,"

It was not uncommon for Jefferson to be unfamiliar with his newest signees, as he had a staff that handled most of the day-to-day operations, which includes the New signees.

"Once I return to my office, you will receive a letter of termination," Jefferson said, his tone now brimming with anger. "You are no longer welcome at Blue Silver."

The lady's eyes widened, her face pale with shock. "But... but... I didn't do anything wrong!" she protested, her voice cracking.

But Jefferson was unmoved, "Please, I'm sorry for all of this Sir," Jefferson pleaded, his voice filled with remorse. "This way to my office sir," Jeremy began to walk to where Jefferson was pointing. He had no time for apologies or explanations, only a fierce determination to save his daughter's life.

The celebrity's anger rose to a boiling point as she watched Jeremy walk away with Jefferson.

"You can't be ending my contract because of this Nobody!" she yelled, pointing at Jeremy.

Jefferson's face flushed with anger, and before he could stop himself, he had raised his hand and slapped the lady across the face. The sound of the slap echoed through the hall, and the lady let out a gasp of pain, her hand flying to her face. A red mark was already starting to form on her cheek, and her mascara was smeared, ruining her makeup.

She stared at Jefferson in disbelief,

"Get this fool out of my sight, immediately!" he barked, his voice filled with rage. The security guards and onlookers were frozen in fear.

The Lady was still reeling from the slap, and now she felt humiliated as well. She glared at Jefferson, her eyes burning with hatred.

"I'll see you in court!" she spat, turning on her heel and storming out of the hall.

As soon as they entered Jefferson's office, Jeremy wasted no time in getting to the point. "Can I have the money now?" he asked, his voice tinged with impatience.

"I'm sorry, but it doesn't work that way," Jefferson explained, trying to keep his tone civil. "The Old master made it clear that the transfer of ownership of the family business must be completed before any funds can be released. I'm not authorized to make any exceptions."

Jeremy's expression turned stony, his jaw clenched. "So you're saying I've come all this way for nothing?" he said, his voice tight with barely suppressed anger. "I don't have time for all of this. Just give me the money and I will be off. My daughter is sick at green hill hospital," He yelled banging Jefferson's table.

"I understand your frustration," Jefferson said, his voice calm in the face of Jeremy's outburst. "But I can't just hand over the money without following the proper procedures. And I can't just ignore the Old master's instructions, even if they are inconvenient. The money is tied up until the transfer of ownership is complete."

As much as Jeremy despised his father and everything he stood for, he couldn't bear the thought of losing his daughter. He knew he had to do whatever it took to get the money she needed.

"Fine," he said, gritting his teeth. "I'll sign whatever you want me to sign. I'll do whatever it takes to get the money for my daughter."

With a sense of anticipation, Jefferson dialed the reception desk on his phone. "Please prepare the transfer of ownership document," he said, his voice betraying his excitement. "We have a new boss."

"Congratulations, Boss" Jefferson said with a smile, though it was clear that Jeremy was not in the mood for pleasantries.

"Let's get down to business," Jeremy replied, his tone brusque and businesslike. He was clearly eager to get the transfer of ownership completed.
