A fool to not realize

As the night wore on, Nathan remained by Karina's side, his thoughts drifting to the future and the challenges that lay ahead. But for now, in this quiet moment, he found solace in the simple act of being with her, knowing that together they could face whatever trials awaited them.

As the night went on, Karina woke up from her deep sleep, which occurred due to sedation. She fought a bit to open her eyes and at the end, she managed to open her eyes. Tilting her head aside, she discovers Nathan sitting on her side and looking into nowhere. The room was only lit up with a tiny bed lamp and most of the darkness was illuminated.

“Water?” she wanted to ask but found her voice locked. Yet again, she kept all her energy and murmured,

“Water.” Nathan, who was in deep thought, broke his reverie and looked at Karina as he felt her talking. When he looked at her, he saw Karina looking at him but she was looking so pale.
