Chapter 4

Gwen noticed that something was wrong with her sister's condition, but Nathan waved his hand back, and Gwen's sister immediately regained control of her body.

As Gwen's sister gasped in fear, Nathan said, "I take my deal with the Smith family very seriously. Therefore, I will not do anything to your sister that would be harmful to her."

"Of course, I also hope that the Smith family will keep their word once my treatment is complete."

“After treating your grandfather, I need a favor from Smith’s family,” Nathan laid down his condition and then started to examine the old man.

Gwen listened to Nathan and decided to remain silent because she did not want to disturb him. Nathan had been concentrating his entire attention on her grandfather, and she did not want to disturb him by speaking or in any way. As a result, she remained silent and looked at her grandfather with depression. He is the head of the family and they don’t want to let him go so soon.

Nathan was examining the elderly man, and he noticed that there was blood flowing through his body, but he lacked the strength to respond to any kind of radical treatment. He also realized that the old man was poisoned.

He made the decision to heal him by transforming Old Smith into a half-dead and after a few hand gestures, he formed a magic circle to protect the soul of the elderly man for the purpose of preventing him from becoming a full-fledged immortal. Following the successful completion of the transformation process, old Smith was no longer experiencing any levels of discomfort. Everyone could see that he was at peace because his face was so calm. After that, Nathan turned around and looked at everyone before he opened his mouth.

“Don’t move or destroy the transformation before half an hour,” Nathan informed.

After informing everyone about that he left from there and went to use the restroom. Gwen and her sister remained still and gazed intently at their grandfather, with the expectation of rousing him from his sleep. At that moment, a doctor named Daniel, who was in his early forties or fifties, entered the ward. He is also the number-one doctor in Belloberg.

The minute he entered the room, his eyes immediately landed on the transformation, and after looking at that, his eyebrows twitched and a pure disgust surfaced on his face.

“Who believes in this type of thing in this era? It's all bullshit. I don’t know who did this or who told you guys to believe but it's all just nonsense. There won’t be any cure for this type of thing, and if a doctor can't do that, then no one can.

In the Gthsi era, everything is possible with science but not with basic beliefs,” he sneered and spoke ridiculously about it.

Gwen wanted to shut him up but the doctor again said,

“I am far better than that guy who is claiming himself as a ghost. I am the top doctor in Belloberg, and don’t forget about it.” He took the right wrist of the old Smith into his hand and checked his pulse.

“If you still want to trust his madness, you should touch your grandfather’s body and look at how he is turning like ice, which is a clear indicator that his pulse is going down and he is about to die. Now he needs to be rescued." Daniel let Gwen touch Old Smith's hand, to which she also felt the coldness of his body.

After sensing it, Gwen was scared out of her wits and in that moment, she chose to believe the doctor rather than Nathan.

“What are you waiting for? Start your work immediately and save my grandfather,” Gwen ordered the doctor.

“Ok, good. Finally, you have made a fruitful decision. I was just waiting for your permission and I will treat him right away,” Daniel said and in the first step of his work, he destroyed the transformation.

The minute it was destroyed, the old smith started twitching with pain. The doctor, with the help of the nurse, tried to stop him but the next occurrence made them more scared.

Black blood started oozing out of the Old man’s mouth and nose, which scared the middle-aged doctor out of his wits.

“Doctor, what's happening with my grandfather?” Gwen questioned him, shivering. After looking at her grandfather’s condition, she started shivering. Nothing is going through her mind except the wish for his well-being.

"I don’t know. Let me work,” Daniel said in his shivering voice.

“What do you mean by you don’t know?” Gwen angrily snapped at him.

“I don’t know means I don’t know. I have never seen this type of situation. Anyway, let me treat him,” he snapped back at her and immediately started resuscitation. After trying hard, he failed in the process and then turned to Gwen.

“I am sorry to say this, but your grandfather can’t be saved,” he informed Gwen calmly.

After listening to his words, Gwen lost control over herself and was angered. She slapped him directly on the face without thinking about anything else and yelled at him,

“If you can’t save him, why did you boast about yourself, saying you are the best doctor in the entire city? If something happens to him, I won’t let you go easily until and unless your license is canceled, which will make you go bankrupt,” Gwen warned him.

“Why are you blaming me? It wasn't my fault; it was Nathan's fault. Who performs this type of experiment on the body of a patient who was already fighting for his life?” The doctor put the whole blame on Nathan.

Gwen’s sister panicked and urged Gwen to call Nathan immediately. Gwen glared angrily at her sister, who had supported the doctor since the start and fetched her mobile out, dialing Nathan’s number.

“Mr. Nathan, where were you?” Gwen conveyed all of this information to Nathan in a single go, saying, "The situation of my grandfather continues to deteriorate. Please return here."

“Don’t worry. I will be back immediately,” Nathan reassured calmly and hung up on the  call.

Even after getting reassurance from him, Gwen didn’t feel any ease. She was having an anxiety attack at the same time as her heart was beating quickly. This was the perfect opportunity for the middle-aged doctor to begin making false accusations against Nathan, and he took advantage of it.

“Do you think he would be back even after all this? If he is the most trustworthy individual, he would not have left from this location in the first place, and if my assumption is correct, he would have already fled from this location by now. The two of you continue to behave as if you are blind, continuing to believe that he will come back. Come out of his trap and try to analyze the situation here. There is no way that he will ever return, and as I advise, you should be ready for everything else. And please know that I will make another attempt to treat him. Daniel was speaking without a break, which irritated them. While Gwen's sister was focusing all of her attention on her grandfather, she noticed that the computer that was displaying his heartbeat had changed into a plain straight line, which indicated that his heartbeat had completely stopped.
