Paul knew that the moment he left, Ms. Turner was going to call the Kazitanis and inform her of his whereabouts since she had now told him the address.

With a sudden burst, he slammed the phone on the ground and used his boots to crush it into pieces before picking up the SIM card.

Paul retracted his gun into its place before he strode toward the door, his footsteps echoing.

“You forgot to give Ghizzy his medicine,” Ms. Turner said, her words tumbling out in a rush as she pleaded. “Please don't go without giving my pet dog his medicine. He would die.”

Ms. Turner’s gaze was going back and forth on tension as she took a glance towards the corner where her dog lay undisturbed and unresponsive to stimuli.

“Oh, I didn't forget Ms. Turner. Just that—-” Paul’s brain hitched as if he recollected an idea.

“Instead of allowing your dog to die, I will go with her. She seems cute,” Paul said with his tone measured with slight mockery before walking over to where the dog lay motionless.
