Chapter 4

       Shadrach and the policemen became shocked. Since when did a commoner like him have a lawyer? He wondered as he looked at the woman who claimed to be his lawyer. He watched as the events unfolded. What the hell was going on? How did he suddenly out of the blue have a lawyer? He thought as he wondered where the hell he had met someone like this woman who said she was his lawyer.

        For a minute, he thought that he would sleep in jail and even spend the rest of his life there, and now, another minute, someone said she was his lawyer. Was he dreaming or what? He wondered in bewilderment.

" Release this man now and let us go!" The lawyer said sharply while the policemen looked at each other and frowned. The truth of the matter was that they did not want to release him all because of the money they had collected from Fred. He had given them a whole lot of money so that he would be detained. And if anything happened, the rich man would make sure that they would pay for it since it was just that everything has been settled and they had collected the amount they wanted.

         They became so annoyed that the tables had been turned against them because they had collected so much money from Fred. They could not let the money go to waste and they did not want to release him. They thought of how far the money would go for them and the fact that they would not get a dime for releasing him. Yet, they got a dime for detaining him. However, the lawyer was a very popular lawyer that would never let go of a case like this. They know how furious the lawyer would be if they kept her waiting and yet, they were not ready to let him go.

" We have not received any response from the boss" one of them managed to say and looked at his partner who added.

" Really" I claimed to let my client leave and you dare to tell me about your boss? Who the hell is that boss of yours? She asked.

           Ms. Cara knows everything that was going on but pretended not to know. She knows who the boss was and knew how capable he was but then, he was not a match for her.

She know that if she dragged the case further, he would be the one to be arrested due to injustice and fraud but then, if they were not complying, she would make sure to send him to jail, including the greedy policemen that would do everything for money.

        Shadrach, on the other hand, wondered how much Fred had paid for the policemen for them to tell the lawyer that he cannot be released. Fred was richer than him, but then, he was sure that it was not just a merger amount that he paid them.

" If you don't release him now, I would make sure that that person you claim to be your boss will be arrested and put in the same position you put my client!" She sternly while they looked at each other in fear.

          Just as one of them wanted to call the boss, she yelled at them "You are taking too long and if I spend a minute here, I will make sure that you join him also because you are greedy and incompetent!" She said becoming a bit yelled while they looked at each other scared.

" You can leave," one of them said while the rest of them became so scared because of the aftermath. Trouble would surely boom if Fred finds out that he had been released and they would suffer for it! Had they perhaps, detained the wrong person that would put them in danger?

"You can come with me! I have not got all day!" She said, after making him sign his papers.

" But who are you? I am not sure that I have seen you in person, so can you please answer my question?" He asked again as he knitted his brows in confusion.

" Me? I'm your lawyer!" She said softly and walked out of the police station elegantly while he walked out still confused about what was going on.

Was he about to be scammed or is he about to be kidnapped? He wondered again as he stared around in awe. How can a woman suddenly come out from the blues and claim that she was his lawyer and even helped him when he thought that he was not going to make it out of the prison? Who the hell is this woman and why is she doing all this? If all these are happening, it meant that person wanted something else in return. What were all these? He wondered as he walked out. He was surprised to see a black Ferrari waiting for them.

" Thank you very much for helping me. I will take my leave now" He said, hoping that she would just look at him and let go. He wanted to feel danger within him that something bad could happen but unfortunately, he was feeling so relaxed around her. Why she was doing this is what he did not understand. He did not know a lot of people and yet, people knew him.

" No! This is my car that will convey the both of us. I will like to talk to you" she said again and looked at him, smiling.

"Talk to me?" He asked surprisedly.

"Yeah, it is very urgent and important" she replied putting up a smile

Now! That explained it all! She would like to talk to him. About working for them, he was sure of that.

" About what? Was that why you came?" He asked, trying to put on a brave face. He knew that he could not come out of this again.

" Yeah, and I am glad to tell to you that, you will be super rich soon!"
