Chapter 7: One versus Four

"System, what percentage do I win against the four of them?" asked Raff as he ran.

[Answer: Unknown]

"Hehe .. I just want you to talk while I chase them," said Raff while laughing to himself.

The shadows of the four adventurers were already visible in the distance. Raff began to walk slowly so as not to be noticed by the four of them. The bodies of the four adventurers looked burly and tall. One adventurer carried a sword, another carried a stick, the remaining two carried knives and did not carry any weapons.

"They look well-trained and strong. I have to be wary while I don't know their level. It would be interesting if adventurers who look strong like them were used as guinea pigs," Raff muttered.

"Illusion maker," said Raff activating his ultimate skill.

The adventurer carrying the knife suddenly stopped his steps. He turned his body backwards and looked around him. His three friends looked confused.

"What's wrong Bob?" asked the adventurer carrying the sword.

"I feel like someone is following us from behind, Qlo," replied the knife-wielding adventurer as he looked at the sword-wielding adventurer.

"Maybe it's just your feeling," said the adventurer who wasn't carrying any weapons.

"No Ham, I felt it at a glance," Bob replied.

"But there's nothing behind us," said Cok.

"I hope so," Bob muttered.

The four of them were just about to walk again. But Raff was suddenly standing in front of them. Bob immediately drew his knife toward Raff.

"Are you the one who's been following us?" asked Bob.

"Yes," Raff replied with a smile.

"Isn't he the guy from Mia's shop?" asked Qlo.

"Yes, I remember him too," replied Ham.

"What is your purpose in following us?" asked Qlo.

"I just wanted to fulfill a helpless girl's wish. She felt sad when she saw her parents insulted and tortured by cowardly people," Raff replied.

"You!" shouted Qlo as he drew his sword and darted after Raff.

Qlo's body bounced as he crashed into the fire magic trap that Raff set in the air. There was a loud crash. The fire began to burn Qlo's body. But Qlo waved his hand, the fire on his body was immediately extinguished.

"Tch! Cheap magic won't be able to hurt me," Qlo said.

"Looks like they're really strong," Raff muttered.

Bob was suddenly behind Raff and swung his knife at his neck. Bob's knife successfully slashed Raff's neck. But Raff's body faded like sand. Qlo and the others were shocked when they saw this.

"Argh!" Bob screeched as his neck felt strangled. The fading grains of sand are now back together to form Raff's body. Bob's neck had been strangled so tightly that he had difficulty breathing.

"Fire dragon!" shouted Cok as he swung his staff. Red flames shot out from the tip of his staff to form a dragon. The dragon moved quickly to smash Raff's body until it was reduced to sand.

Bob jumped far after escaping Raff's stranglehold. Raff's form is still not visible. But now there were seven armored goblins who came to surround them. The four of them looked surprised to see him.

"Aren't those the warrior goblins in the dungeon?" Cok said.

"Why are they here?" said Ham.

"We just need to finish them off!" said Qlo as he jumped up and slashed his sword towards one goblin.

Actually, the goblin had dodged until Qlo's slash only hurt his hand slightly. But the wound on the goblin's hand moved like the shape of a tree root. One goblin was instantly destroyed as its body was covered in wide cuts.

Ham immediately came forward and kicked two goblins to destruction. Cok again used his fire magic power to paralyze four goblins at once. Raff's form reappeared from the dust of the destroyed goblin bodies.

"What the hell is going on?" Bob said in confusion.

"Has he also mastered fighting skills?" muttered Qlo.

"Fire dragon!" shouted Cok again using his magic to target Raff's body.

An explosion was heard when Cok's fire magic hit the water magic trap that Raff had set. White smoke rose into the air as the water evaporated. Qlo did not waste the opportunity. He immediately moved towards Raff with his sword, nimbly he managed to avoid several invisible traps set by Raff.

"He's tougher than I thought," Raff muttered when he saw Qlo was able to avoid some of his traps.

"You have great skills too!" said Qlo as he slashed his sword towards Raff's neck.

Raff initially intended to dodge. But Bob was already beside him. He pulled Raff's hand and pinned Raff's legs with his feet until he couldn't move. Qlo's sword struck Raff's left shoulder.

"You're quite agile. But your level is still below mine!" said Bob.

"This? skill?" muttered Raff as the wound in his shoulder spread throughout his body and then crushed his body into sand.

"This again?" said Bob.

"Has he also mastered fighting skills?" Ham muttered.

"Argh!" Cok suddenly screamed in pain while clutching his neck, which had been strangled by Raff.

"Let him go!" shouted Ham as he jumped up with his right hand that had been covered in stone.

But Ham's body hit the fire magic trap until it exploded and burned his body. Ham rolled on the ground to put out the flames. Qlo immediately slashed his sword from a distance. The air pressure shot up to cut off Raff's hand that was strangling Cok's neck.

"Eh? So that's it?" Raff muttered in surprise.

Bob was again beside Raff, swinging his knife at the neck. Bob's knife managed to cut Raff's neck. But Raff's body melted back into the sand. Cok immediately knelt down while coughing with his breath.

"What the hell is going on? I don't understand," said Ham who had risen again.

"This skill is quite interesting. If only there were no weaknesses, maybe I wouldn't be defeated," Raff thought.

Raff's form had now reappeared from the grains of sand. Qlo slashed his sword from afar. The dense air pressure shot towards Raff's body. Qlo's slash pierced Raff's body, which was not destroyed this time.

"Is this an illusion?" muttered Qlo.

"Yes. But you realized it too late," said Raff.

"Too late?" muttered Qlo.

"Argh!" screamed Cok. His armor seemed to be blistering along with his body.

Qlo immediately moved his sword towards Cok's body, but his sword was held back by something. Sparks appeared along with the clanking sound of steel hitting steel.

Ham and Bob wanted to help. But all around their bodies were traps set by Raff's fire magic. Their bodies were immediately burned when they moved just a little from where they were standing. Qlo immediately jumped. He managed to slash Raff's magic trap in the air.

But Qlo's body bounced against a tree because of Raff's magic attack that came directly in the air. Cok continued to scream for mercy with a body that continued to blister as if it was roasted by hot coals. His eyes widened before he died. It turned out that the invisible figure of the original Raff was using fire magic through his hands to heat up the armor on Cok's body.

Cok's wand was also now in Raff's hand so it was also invisible to his three opponents. Bob and Ham tried to roll on the ground, but it turned out that the ground surface had also been trapped by Raff's fire magic. They both rolled in the flames. It made them both scream in pain.

"Who are you really? What is your purpose in attacking us?" asked Qlo while drawing his sword. Now Raff's form appeared near Cok's corpse.

"I am just an ordinary adventurer. My goal is to fulfill the wishes of the people you hurt," Raff replied with a smile.

"Oh. So you want to be a hero," Qlo taunted.

"Hero? No, I don't. That nickname doesn't suit me very well. I don't want it either. I just don't like it when I see weak people treated badly by people like you," Raff replied.

"Very confident. I don't know what your relationship is with Mia's family. But you're going to die here," Qlo said.

"That's too bad. I already know all your moves and attack patterns. I admit you're good, but fighting isn't just about strength," said Raff.

"Bob!" shouted Qlo as he slashed his sword forward. The dense air pressure shot up to form a wide sword slash towards Raff.

Suddenly Bob and Ham were already darting after Raff from behind. Ham's right hand was already covered in sharp stones while Bob's blade had become sharper because it was coated with wind elements.
