Chapter 6: killing the Three Disorderly Men.

     As soon as the notification rang out in his mind, Maverick no longer had any doubts that the ones coming were the three disorderly men.

   Maverick instantly started to analyse his current condition, making up a plan to deal with the three disorderly men.

     "I am not sure if my Sixth level of Variant Awakening realm is more powerful than those three, even If I turn out to be stronger than them, the three of them are armed were as I have no weapon"

  "if I want to kill them, I need to sneak up on them then attack first and seize the initiative" Thinking toward this point, Maverick made up a perfect plan to kill the three disorderly men.

      After coming up with his plan, Maverick set into action, he gently sneaked toward the rocky wall of the valley and waited patiently for the disorderly men to arrive.

  If Maverick were an ordinary person living in a normal world, he wouldn’t be able to think so fast and come up with a plan to kill his enemies so easily.

 However, Maverick was from a dark world where he has to fight everyday and even kill just to give himself and his family a good life. Although he was a mortal, he wasn’t new to fighting and killing.

    Just as Maverick hid, Danny, Dawn and Sebastian finally arrived at the location where Maverick once stood.

   The moment they arrived, they spread about, surveying the ground meticulously, searching for any signs of Maverick, the mortal piece of trash who unexpectedly escaped from them with the help of a strange Epic grade treasure.

    "look at this, there are two empty bottles here?" Danny yelled as he called the other two over to his location.

  The other two hurriedly moved toward Danny, unaware that they have all turned their backs on Maverick who was hiding behind a crack on the rocky walls of the valley.

    As the three disorderly men moved about, Maverick examined them and surprisingly, he was able to faintly feel traces of the spiritual energy within their bodies and he calculated that although they were all strong they all hadn't reached the sixth level like him, they all should be in the fifth or fourth level at most.

      This realization gave Maverick more confidence that his plan was going to work, and with this confidence came immediate action.

   Just as the three disorderly men carried the bottles in order to examine them, Maverick suddenly rushed out of his hiding place, dashing towards the disorderly man from which he had senses the weakest trace of spiritual energy.

     The Disorderly men were too preoccupied with examining the bottles which Maverick had intentionally left behind to distract them as Maverick hurriedly closed in on them.

    With his evolution, Maverick was so fast that before any of them men even sense him, he had Already arrived behind Dawn spreading his hands out to grab the latter’s neck.

   "Who…" Dawn who heard footsteps behind him, exclaimed and wanted to turn around but his words and action were cut shut as Maverick’s two hands clenched his neck.

   The instant in which he grabbed Dawn's neck, Maverick applied all of his strength and twisted the neck with a snap.

      Dawn instantly died when he got his neck twisted by Maverick but before his body could even fall into the ground, Maverick grabbed the weapon on his hand which was a small black axe with a wooden handle.

    "Dawn!" Sebastian and Danny exclaimed when they saw Dawn's death, their attention was drawn over by the commotion Dawn made when he discovered Maverick but Maverick's action had been so fast that they only got to see Dawn's death.

    While the two of them were exclaiming sorrowfully at Dawn's death, Maverick dashed toward Sebastian who was right beside Dawn and hacked the axe towards his head straightforwardly.

     Although he was sad and taken aback by Dawn's abrupt death, Sebastian reacted in time, blocking the axe with his Sickle.

    A metallic sound rang out as the two weapons clashed in mid air, an invisible ripple travelled through the atmosphere.

   The incredible force and power contained in Maverick's hack was still too much for Sebastian to bear, despite blocking the attack with his sickle he was sent flying away by the force of the axe.

      As he sent Sebastian flying, Maverick wanted to follow him but he immediately paused when he heard the sound of something sharp breaking through the air current.

      Maverick quickly shifted his head to the left only to narrowly avoid Danny's weapon, a long spear which had stabbed towards his forehead.

     "Die you bastard!" Maverick exclaimed as he rushed towards Danny before the later could withdrew his spear and hacked the axe toward his neck.

    Danny quickly reacted by sidestepping and moving out of the axe's way however, as soon as he did that, Maverick spun and changed the trajectory of the axe from a vertical attack to a horizontal attack.

   Danny who was only in the fifth level of Variant Awakening and wasn’t as fast as Maverick, wasn't able to dodge this unexpected move from Maverick, the Axe sliced into the right side of his waist sending flying numerous splashes of blood.

    "Ahhhhh!" Danny screened as his body jolted from his nerves transmitting strong signals into his brain. His weapon, the long spear fell from his hand and he retreated some steps while clutching the right side of his waste where the Axe had sliced.

     However, Maverick wasn't done with Danny yet since he was still alive and standing. As he staggered back, Maverick hacked the Axe into his neck, chopping off his head with one clean swing.

      After killing Danny, blood splashed all over Maverick's body and he turned around to gaze at Sebastian who was standing beside the wall while shivering in fear.

    "What the fuck is going on?, isn't this the mortal, the piece of trash that the young lady told us to take care of because she didn't want to dirty her hands, why is he suddenly so powerful and scary? Has he been possessed by a demon?"

      Sebastian mumbled all of this in his mind as he shivered in fear while staring at Maverick, feeling Maverick's gaze on him, countless chills rand down his spine.

        Maverick was totally expretionless after killing the second disorderly man, he turned towards the last and started to walked toward him slowly, since there was only one guy left, he wasn't in a hurry to kill again, he wanted to torment this bastard and make him feel a pain worse than death.

          "I surrender… I don't want to fight anymore.. You can have my weapon.. It's my most valuable treasure, I am giving it you in exchange for my life" Sebastian blurted as he dropped his weapon.

  After surviving one clash with Maverick, he knew of how much more powerful Maverick was compared to him and knew that he wouldn't win him in a one on one battle.

  If he wants to kill Maverick, his best option was to surrender now and then later find an opportunity to sneak attack Maverick.

   "I accept your surrender" Maverick said but he continued to walk toward the shivering and alert Sebastian. He only stopped until he was fifty centimetres to Sebastian and then he bent down to pick up Sebastian's weapon the Sickle.

     The moment in which Maverick bent to pick up the sickle, an evil glint flashed in Sebastian's eyes and he stretched out his hand that was now glowing with a scarlet light and wanted to claw at Maverick's back.

         However, the instant that he moved, Maverick also moved, the hand he had stretched to pick up the sickle in the ground was his left hand, his right hand that was still holding the axe swing fast, hacking into Sebastian's claw.

   "Ahhhhh!" Sebastian cried out loudly as his glowing hand got pulverised by the Axe. Before he could react, Maverick pulled back the axe and swung it out again, this time hacking Sebastian's hip.

  "Ahhhhh!" Sebastian fell toward the ground before letting out another yell, his left leg was rendered useless after the axe hacked into it.

       Maverick withdrew his weapon and hacked at Sebastian’s right shoulder rendering his right arm useless as well.

    After seeing that Sebastian now lay on the ground paralysed, Maverick stopped paying him attention and then finally turned attention to the notification that kept ringing out in his head again and again during the battle.
