Chapter 4 The richest man in Cleveland

Harlan got to his feet, took four steps back and now Warren grabbed a gun from the security and pointed it to his head. Pulling the trigger.

"Stop!" Warren commands. Harlan held a confused stare, "there is no need," he dropped his hand.

What Harlan didn't know was that Warren wanted to ask himself if Harlan would listen to him and obey him. He looked at the Gold card in his hand and the autopsy.

Seeing the picture of his parents, he collapsed, and Harlan rushed towards him. Warren couldn't put himself together. Who on earth could be this cruel to have them annihilated, he digs his finger into the ground. all his life he had lived with that guilt. Guilt of the event from that night.

"Cover the young master, nobody must see him cry on his knees." He commanded and instantly a cover was made with the bodyguards intertwining their arms together. "They will pay for killing them unjustly. You're the Lord of Welsh, there is nothing you want that you won't get."

Harlan had headed the Donald family business, it was a mafia family with a crown seat for Donald, Lord Welsh is the highest seat in the hierarchy, and when Donald died countless manoeuvres their way to get the seat but real blood must ascend it. Every family, cosmopolitan, empire was nothing compared to Donald, they were the star of Cleveland, including Floyd Galen who humiliated him today must know to him they were nothing but lowborn dependents in front of the Welsh group.

Harlan tugged him up and grabbed a suitcase. "Young master, take your time I won't rush you to take your place, Welsh is built and kept by loyalists to you holding high places in the whole of Cleveland, you won't have a problem going about with anything, your cough alone will send thunders rumbling."

Harlan left, Warren wielded the gold card to his eyes, seeing the reflection of the ocean clearly through it in the night. A pure gold card. Warren was still in a daze.

The thoughts of how he suffered alone in the hands of the rich and how they belittled him anywhere he went to look for a job, as an orphan he would be rejected, so why not take it, this was his chance to rise as the Lord of the rings with power to take revenge on those that humiliated him.

He clutched the card tightly and headed to the chemist, he ordered some drugs over the counter, he swiped the card keyed in the password and the transaction went through.

Warren got to his neighbourhood, whistling. He felt like he was still hovering in cloud nine, did he just become a trillionaire overnight?!

___

"Where is he? Are you sure this is where he lives?"

Warren rushed out seeing heavily bodied men trying to tear down his door.

All his life he had been looked down upon, humiliated, and even thrown into the trash, fought when necessary but no one had dared to come violently to his house.

"How can I help you?" He said with a sneer on his face.

"The Lance's family ordered us to bring you."

Lance family? What does he owe them? He knew the Lance family owes a big market network in Cleveland, "I don't know what you're talking about. What do they want from me?" He moved to open his door? "you're seeking the wrong person."

"Until you get there," A blow host in his stomach, too much on Warren already, he couldn't hold up, he collapsed and was abducted into the black Range Rover.

Hours later, he heard a faint sound from the background, while grumbling.

"This is the man you saw her with? A good for nothing!" Warren wakes up in the large living room. And the thunderous voice of an old man in a simple t-shirt slammed him crystal.

He gasped looking around and behind him. His thought wandered to the hidden enemy Harlan had mentioned.

"What do you want from me?" They broke his nose before he could say anything.

"Father, Sawyer doesn't hide her atrocities anymore, she goes in public with any kind of man, is this your favourite granddaughter you want to hand over the company to?"

The old man Oliver Lance clenched his hand into a fist by his side glancing through the picture that was taken last night in his hand he threw it at Warren's face.

"Father, it's already published, Sawyer will bring a bad reputation to the family if you go ahead with making her the manager."

"Just think what they will say when a woman of her caliber becomes the manager!"

"Stop talking! You moron. She is your niece!"

Jake glued his tongue to the wall of his mouth instantly.

He feared his father, Oliver Lance and his word was law in the Lance group.

Sawyer came out to meet everything, Warren was forced down to his knees looking down with confusion, did that fucker play with him! With a grin on his face standing beside his father, Jake giggled cockily, Oliver Lance is a very protocol man; he will break a leg and feed anyone that dared him to the dog.

"How dare you, Sawyer! A beggar on the street. This nobody has no name, no origin!"

Sawyer grinned, "Grandfather, does that mean I won't marry Hans Vincent? If it does, I will turn over a new leaf."

Violently his hand was raked back and a dirty slap flaw across his face accompanied with a loud squeak. Warren was sure he would have two or more teeth broken to the gum.

"Sawyer Lance, you have made your choice, I didn't raise you to go around mingling with losers to have one as a lover, I will not allow you to spoil my name, this young man here, you will wed him, starting today he is your husband."

Sawyer rushed down the staircase. "Please don't do this, grandfather, that was not the intention, I did not want to marry Hans, but not him either please take back your word."

"It's final."

She rushed after him, "grandfather, please, spare me the humiliation."

Oliver Lance hissed without looking back at Sawyer.

Jake smirked. "Too late, It's already published. Father will make me manager now! Stupid girl."

He whispered into her ear and whisked joyously out of the living room.

His grandfather Oliver walked out leaving Warren with Sawyer, the poor girl cried and wailed anytime she looked up at Warren. She couldn't bear to believe her plan had capsized like a shipwreck against her.

"What have I gotten myself into!"

From that day, the Lance family has the richest man in Cleveland as their son-in-law. Who wouldn't want that?
