Fred was in a coma, he was in a large room where there were several devices around. As a result of the impact, his ribs were broken. And the hospital had to operate on him.
The picture moved to the side, now Fred's face was clearly visible, there were several bandages on the face, the right hand was bandaged quite thickly. Aiden began to feel sorry for him, but he also didn't understand what he had done to make Fred hate him so much.
Aiden pressed finish on the app, then went back to cleaning the cookware. After his shift ended, Aiden went to the hospital to see Fred one last time. He knew Fred would never regain consciousness.
The hospital was quiet at night. Aiden didn't bring anything with him because he couldn't leave any evidence. As he turned the corner, Aiden backed away quickly. He leaned against the wall and peered down the hallway.
"We've arrested the perpetrator, and he's currently being questioned," a tall black police officer said.
Duke nodded in understanding. "What about Fred's car? Is there anything?"
"We didn't find anything. After checking the CCTV, Fred didn't seem to be speeding either, so I didn't find anything wrong with his car."
Aiden opened Knote's app and found no information on how they had harmed Fred. There was no way it was a deliberate accident.
"We'll come again after Fred regains consciousness." The police officer and his partner left. Aiden immediately pretended to make a phone call as they passed by.
Aiden walked while looking around. Once he arrived in front of Fred's room, he could see through the glass that Duke and Eri were inside. But Aiden immediately hid in one of the empty patient rooms.
After waiting for a while, Aiden finally came out. He saw Duke and Eri walking away, giving Aiden the opportunity to enter Fred's room.
Aiden felt even more guilty after seeing Fred's condition firsthand.
"I never thought we'd hurt each other like this." Aiden stared at Fred's motionless face. "We used to always share the food you got from other people. You'd give a little to me or just a junk toy in the trash bin. You'd also give me the first try."
"I'm such a bastard, just leaving without telling you." Aiden's eyes suddenly filled with tears. "My mom died, I have no one. Even if my mom was terminally ill, I wouldn't want her to die. I don't want people to think of her as a rotting carcass."
Aiden paused, he seemed to see Fred's eyelids move. A nurse came in, surprising Aiden. He tried to calm down after seeing that the nurse looked suspicious.
"I hope you get better soon." Aiden walked towards the door, smiling slightly at the female nurse.
Aiden searched for news of Fred's accident. He had to make sure that his name wouldn't be dragged into the case. He had to worry because Fred could have woken up. The internet wasn't clear, some news sources said the driver was drunk.
The next day, Aiden went to the police station. For some reason, Aiden still didn't trust Knote.
He dressed up and pretended to be a journalist, he wanted to talk to the perpetrator. But the police station hadn't allowed anyone else to talk to the man.
"Aiden."
Aiden turned his head in surprise. The Duke was in front of him. He looked at the receptionist and then at Duke, thinking hard about why he was there.
"What are you doing here?"
"I, I need to take care of some paperwork. My apartment caught fire, I might be able to catch the culprit."
Duke chuckled, completely dismissive. "That's a good plan. If this matter goes to court, don't forget that you'll also have to spend money on a lawyer."
Aiden looked at Duke sarcastically, eager to rip his arrogant mouth off.
"I know," Aiden replied.
"You guys should install some CCTV here. Those little rats aren't afraid of humans when it comes to stealing anything." Duke spoke to a police officer who had been standing next to him, then turned to Aiden briefly.
Aiden watched the two walk away. Then he walked out of the police station with a heavy sigh.
Today, there were a few customers. Aiden was quite overwhelmed frying the chicken non-stop. Aiden couldn't even leave the frying pan. Sometimes he even had to help other workers coat the chicken with flour.
"Aiden, bring the chicken here." Someone shouted from the counter room.
"Wait." His forehead sweated as he transferred some fried chicken to a sizable tray.
He saw a customer standing there, waiting for an order. Aiden paused for a moment and then went back inside. Trying not to ignore it, Aiden put the chicken into the hot oil.
"Aiden, a lady over there wants to talk to you." An employee from the counter spoke up.
"Tell them I'm working," Aiden said without guessing who it was.
As soon as Aiden finished work and came out of the fast food restaurant, he saw Eri standing not far from the entrance. Aiden didn't care, he continued walking.
"Ai." The call made Aiden stop walking. "I want to talk to you for a moment."
Aiden turned his head, Eri immediately approached him. "Don't you miss me?" Eri looked down, feeling embarrassed. "You know my dad is looking for a replacement for Fred."
"Oh yeah?"
Eri looked confused, not knowing where to start the conversation. "Fred had an accident."
"What happened?" Aiden pretended to be shocked, but Eri could sense it.
"You don't know?"
At the hospital, Eri had told her father that Aiden and Fred had an argument. Duke was happy to know that, he asked Eri to meet Aiden. Eri tried not to show it in front of Duke. Eri was also happy.
"I didn't know, I was busy working and didn't have time to watch the news." As usual, Aiden always showed his weak side when he met Eri.
"Both of you from the same place." Eri's words made Aiden turn his head. "He was your childhood friend, I hope you'll come."
"How do you know?" Aiden asked.
"Fred told me quite a lot about you two."
Aiden was quite surprised to hear that. But he tried to refrain from looking concerned. "I don't know, but thank you for telling me."
"I can go with you."
Aiden was silent for a long time and then muttered briefly. He didn't want to get carried away by sentimental feelings.
Meanwhile, a man wearing a black hoodie and a black mask was standing in front of the hospital.
He walked in, no one noticed him, even when the man stood in front of Fred's room. He was the same man who touched Fred's car and that man was not Aiden.
Jake was a technician who worked for a rich man. He modified cars to make them faster and better. He, like Aiden, was using the Knote app for the first time. That night, he was assigned to install a GPS onto Fred's car. Knote sent him info about Fred. He installed the GPS onto a square piece of metal. Jake unscrewed the bolts and attached an additional small piece of metal under the car. Jake deliberately put the GPS on the side because when the truck hit Fred's car, the GPS was immediately destroyed.Jake was also there when the incident took place. He had to make sure no evidence was left on the road.He walked out of the hospital, passing Aiden and Eri in the lobby and walking in."Hopefully, after meeting you, Fred will wake up," Eri said, as they reached the elevator. Aiden looked over, unsure of how to respond. He didn't want to say that he hated Fred for taking his job or feign sympathy."You know, people who have an inner bond may find it easier to communicate."They reached
"I want to marry Aiden."Duke and Alice were confused. Eri walked into their room and said it right away."Eri, what's wrong?" Alice asked. They were lying on the bed.Duke shouldn't have given the task to Eri. His daughter was very weak when it came to Aiden. He had to think of a way to prevent Eri from getting back with Aiden."We'll talk about it tomorrow, your mom has a headache." Duke tried to make excuses, even though Alice was fine."I won't change my mind." Eri went out of her parents' room."Duke," Alice called, as Duke was lying down massaging his head. The two pillows on his head did not make him comfortable.Morning. Eri was already dressed, she picked up her bag and went downstairs without looking back into the dining room. Alice called out to her. Duke didn't even bother to stop Eri."It's useless," Duke said as Alice continued to stare at him."You should have immediately looked for another man when Eri broke up with Aiden. You know your daughter well, she's very impres
Aiden had just finished putting on his tie and he was startled by the sound of someone knocking on the door. He texted Eri that he would be leaving soon.As he approached the door, he stopped and peered through the glass. There was a rather huge man, wearing a leather jacket and looking left and right.Aiden didn't recognize the man, so he walked backwards. Trying not to make a sound, he waited until they left, but someone broke down the door. Aiden panicked. They had bad intentions. The only way out was through the window. Aiden took a breath and jumped. His new apartment was on the second floor. So, he knew that he would be alright.Someone managed to get into his room and saw Aiden running away.Aiden drove down the road quite fast. There was no way he could get to Eli's house now.His cell phone rang, Eri was calling him at a crucial moment. As soon as Aiden answered the call, a police car was beside him."Stop!"Aiden ended the call and focused on the road. He passed the car smoo
Eri got out of the taxi in a hurry, not even caring if her dress was torn or dirty. She went up to the second floor and opened the apartment door. No one was there."Aiden, Aiden, where are you?" Eri opened the toilet but he wasn't there. She walked towards the window, her breathing became heavy. There was no way Aiden had left her.Eri went to Aiden's workplace. She asked an employee and the man didn't know Aiden."Can I come into the kitchen?" Eri asked. The man was a bit hesitant, especially when he saw Eri's messy appearance. Eri couldn't wait, so she let herself in through a door reserved only for staff. The man turned away from the counter and tried to restrain Eri, who was walking to and fro."Aiden, Aiden, I know you're here." Eri made a scene. Some of the staff managed to grasp her hand. One woman blocked her way. Eri was still looking around, she was sure Aiden must be hiding in this place."You need to leave, or we'll call the police," the female employee said firmly."Aide
Eri came to the hospital to check on Fred. But once she got to the room, Fred wasn't there. The room was empty. She chased after the nurse who was walking in the hallway. "Excuse me, where is the patient who was treated in that room yesterday?""He's back home."Eri didn't know Fred that much, so she didn't know where the man lived, and neither did Duke. Her father asked Eri to just go home because he would find out where Fred was. But Eri was stubborn, she would go to the office and find out for herself. After saving her cell phone, Eri hurried to the bank. She wouldn't go through the entrance in front of the building, she would walk through the parking lot entrance in the basement. Eri didn't know anyone besides Fred and Aiden, but she knew where the office car was parked."Excuse me." Eri tapped on the glass window, she saw someone sleeping in the driver's seat. The window opened slowly to reveal a mature man of about forty or so. It didn't occur to her that the car would be driven
"Eri." Duke looked at his daughter and Zidan, "What are you doing here?"Eri turned to Zidan, shaking her head vaguely in a code for Zidan not to tell Duke. She didn't want Zidan to get trouble while saving herself."I, I was just asking about Fred." Eri tried to act normal."I told you, I'd take care of this." Duke was already standing near Eri. He looked at them, he knew Zidam was quite close to Aiden. "You can go."Eri wanted to talk more about Fred or Aiden, but right now she had to be nice. She didn't want to leave New York before finding Aiden."Now you go home, my driver will take you."Eri nodded and walked towards the car. She got in the car and leaned back, it had been a draining day, but she hadn't found anything. No, she got some good information about Fred and Aiden.Duke got into the elevator, he had to keep an eye on Eri, no matter what she said. He couldn't make the same mistake. He couldn't let his guard down.He got a call. "How is it?""I checked the hospital's CCTV
While Eri and her family were having breakfast, someone honked twice. Duke didn't ask his new driver to pick him up. Then who was that person?Duke walked outside. Alice and Eri followed him too. When they opened the door, the side window was slowly lowered. He turning around with a friendly smile. They recognized him."Fred," Eri said, she didn't believe what she had just seen. The man had disappeared without a trace and then returned suddenly."What is he doing?" asked Alice. She didn't seem to understand Duke and Eri's shocked expressions.Duke walked out to the car. He stared at Fred in disbelief, this man was as dangerous as Aiden."What are you doing?" asked Duke."I'm back." Fred smiled, as if he had just won."I didn't ask about that." Duke looked at him annoyed. "What have you done? You left the hospital without telling anyone, where you'd been.""Sorry, I have something to do." Fred looked away. "I'm here now, so I'll work harder." Fred got out of the car and opened the pa
Aiden woke up, he saw a large room, beside which was a large glass window. He tried to sit up but his whole body ached. He looked for his cell phone, and found it on the nightstand. He tried to pick it up, but he couldn't reach it. Someone walked in making him turn his head in surprise. The old man walked over, Aiden became wary. There was nothing he could do but stare at the man."Who do you want to call?" the old man asked."Who are you?""I'm the one who helped you." The man handed him the cell phone. "Think about what happens if you call someone."Aiden gave him a confused look. He gripped the phone tightly. He had to contact Eri immediately. But he had no idea where he was right now."But I'm glad you finally woke up." The man turned around, he stared out the window. The sun's rays were shining in that room."What happened? Where am I?" Aiden had already lowered one leg, he tried to get down, but the IV in his hand prevented him."We're far away." When the man turned around, Aide
Aiden walked forward, the man turned around and smiled. "You must be looking for Micky."Aiden paused, he was a little hesitant to turn around. But with his current reaction it was already suspicious. He couldn't help but turn around. He laughed awkwardly. "What do you mean?""You must know that Micky ran away from Mr K's house," the man looked to the side. "Everyone's been ordered to look for the boy, otherwise we'll be thrown out.""Then why don't you go look for him, you're wasting your time talking to me.""Why should I bother looking for the boy? I just need to see you, and then the boy will come."Aiden raised an eyebrow, trying to hold back a look of shock. He wondered who had told this man. Did Bob tell Mr. K? "Why would you even think about that? I have nothing to do with that boy."The man approached Aiden. "You have no business with him, but that boy definitely has business with you. I wonder what you said to him to make him brave enough to run away."Aiden paused; he shou
"Sir, I'm outside. Where should I go?"Aiden panicked, he walked to the door, then back to the street. "Where are you?""I don't know."Aiden didn't expect it. Micky to run away so quickly. He didn't have anything yet, not even a car to pick up the boy. What now? He had to take responsibility because Aiden had asked the boy to run away."You're still in Las Vegas?" Aiden had to go get Micky before Mr. K caught him."Yes."Aiden ordered a cab, but Micky didn't have much time. The call had to end. He was using someone's cell phone to call Aiden. He didn't have a cell phone, Mr. K seemed to have deliberately not given the boy one so he could control Micky completely."Can you see anything? Whatever it is, say it."Aiden could hear Micky muttering. He asked the taxi driver to drive to the airport immediately. He couldn't keep Micky waiting any longer."I can't talk anymore."Aiden immediately turned frantic. "Don't hang up, tell someone where you are.""I see a Wheel." Aiden tried to cal
Aiden went to Silly Valey. He was about to accept a position at one of the tech companies. He was nervous and excited, he couldn't wait to get to work. His mother must be proud that Aiden has become wealthy, not living on the streets and fearing hunger. Although he still felt those feelings often. He looked up at the company building. It looked ordinary, but there must be a lot of investment and money floating around inside."Today we have someone coming in. He graduated from Harvad University, and has quite a lot of experience. He will replace Mr. Swan as director."Aiden stood up, looking at the few people at the meeting. All the important positions in the company were present to greet Aiden."I'm Albert Gregg, I'm the new Director of Development. Thank you." Aiden sat back down, and several people applauded. The Knote app gave Aiden a new identity. He had to wait at least five days for all the documents about Aiden's graduation and work experience to be stored in the company and u
Aiden thought the man was Duke. But the truth was Mr. K. He was convinced, his memories suddenly surfacing. After a car hit him, Mr. K was there and talked to him.Aiden didn't know what to do. He had to keep quiet, pretend he didn't remember what had happened. Aiden went into the room, checked his cell phone, the status of the second task was still the same.Aiden went to the backyard. In front of him was a swimming pool. He looked straight ahead. He remembered that the man had said, "It's time to stop holding on to anger." Did Mr. K know him? He didn't have many friends, so of course it was impossible. Then he turned his head to the side, Aiden looked around and then walked over to the place. However, he suddenly stopped walking when he saw a pop-up message. After opening it, she was silent for quite a while. He opened the door. Micky was asleep on the couch, looking exhausted. As Aiden approached, he saw some red marks. Aiden felt sorry that Micky had to experience this. Was Mr. K
Aiden walked into the hotel room with a sense of relief. He didn't expect that it would come this far. Everything he did didn't feel right. He wanted to lie down, but Bob seemed to be in a hurry."What's wrong?""We have to get out. Change your clothes right now."Aiden directly opened his suit, shirt, and pants. He panicked, he didn't know what made them have to leave the hotel. They drove away from the hotel and the scene. Bob was still focused on driving, they couldn't even leave a single item in the hotel. "Explain to me," said Aiden.Bob suddenly pulled over, got off, and opened the trunk. He picked up the plastic containing their clothes and threw it in the garbage can. Aiden looked surprised because the price of the clothes was quite expensive."What are you doing?" Aiden yelled slightly when Bob walked in.Bob went back to running the car. He waited for a while and then spoke. "They will suspect everyone in the restaurant at the time. So, we can't keep the suit.""Why do the
"Aiden." Eri looked around, there were a lot of people at the airport, and she seemed to hear that guy's voice."Eri, come on." Duke forced Eri to step, even though Eri was still looking for that voice. "Our flight is coming up, and we need to hurry."Eri and her family were going on vacation to the Netherlands. She had an aunt there. Eri would also continue her master's degree while trying to forget Aiden. All this was Duke's plan, he had made an agreement with Eri beforehand.Eri had asked for an explanation of the news about the police finding Aiden's car, when Duke told her about this vacation plan."We only found out about it a few days ago," Duke tried to explain."No way, you've been going to the police station a lot."Alice just stood there looking at the two."I was working on Fred's case, I didn't have time to find out Aiden's whereabouts.""You promised we'll go tomorrow morning. Come on, Eri, you'll be able to visit some European countries, and you'll be happy to see how b
Aiden had to practice shooting before going on task. He had over ten days. Bob took him to a place where Mr. K often took his men.Aiden wore earplugs and goggles, aiming at a target made of steorofoam. He pulled the trigger, hoping to hit the spot on the heart that had been marked. But no, Aiden's shot did not hit the object.Aiden felt tired. He stopped for a moment. He left the arena and sat in the chair. Aiden looked at his cell phone.Aiden wondered what Eri was doing at the moment. "Why did you stop?" asked Bob, who came up next."I don't think I'll be able to do it."Bob sat down next to Aiden. "I'm also confused about why you suddenly want to learn to shoot, but what's wrong with that? You never know when you'll use these skills later.""You're right." Aiden wondered if he hadn't learned to shoot, then how he could protect himself. Moreover, there were many people who wanted to finish him off."Having shooting skills is a good thing if you live in this country. If you can't c
Bob looked around, and then he was staring at the taxi. Feeling suspicious, he inspected it, but he couldn't open the trunk or the door. He got back in and asked Aiden to step aside. He checked the man's pants pocket by force. Although the driver struggled, Bob managed to get the key.Bob checked the car, but he didn't find the bag. But he wouldn't give up. He forcibly bent the back seat and found the black bag there."Aiden!"Aiden ran out, he was still holding the knife. "You found it," he said, as Bob showed him the bag."Let's get out of here." Aiden nodded, he threw the knife away. He briefly looked back at the open door, a little worried about leaving the man."Let me hold this bag." Bob put the bag between his legs. The car started to move. The taxi driver didn't know what was in the bag, but he hoped it contained drugs. He would make a lot of money if he could sell them. That's why he stole it from Aiden. They arrived at a hotel, where Bob was in charge of guarding the bag.
"How can we find it?" Aiden asked. They had gotten a car."I've memorized the license plate number, but that won't help." Bob focused on driving, he was even speeding on a road full of vehicles. After a few minutes of driving, they finally gave up. The car drove slowly because it was clear they had lost the trail."What should we do? The bag is very important."Bob turned his head for a few seconds, he seemed to think of something. "Does the bag contain drugs?"Aiden didn't know, nor did he need to tell him where the bag was and who he should give it to, because Aiden had no idea. He settled in silence, watching the road.Aiden sighed. "You better think about how to get that bag." "We should go to the taxi company."Aiden looked it over. That was a good idea. He felt excited again as Bob increased the speed of the car. He would look up the address of the taxi company on the internet. After finding the location of the company, Aiden showed it to Bob. They were not that far away, only
