Chapter Fifty-one

Jackson began, "They want us out in the open. We can't do that. We can't play by their rules. So... Paul Mitch would probably be in the hospital after I dealt with him, wouldn't he?"

Pamela nodded.

Jackson continued, "Good. Find out where he's being kept and I want you to take him. Be discreet and fast. Don't let anyone see you."

"You want to use him as leverage?" Pamela asked, understanding his plan.

"That would be plan B. But I want him to tell us possible places where they would keep Sophia's father," Jackson said, hoping to get some clues.

"Alright, boss. Consider it done.

But what about her?" Pamela asked, referring to Sophia.

Jackson looked at Sophia, who was still standing and watching them talk, looking scared and confused.

He felt a surge of guilt and regret for dragging her into this mess.

"Leave her to me," Jackson said, as he walked away from Pamela and towards Sophia. He knew he had to tell her the truth, the horrible truth, about what had happened to her father.
