Chapter Forty-one

Jackson and Sophia smiled at each other, feeling a connection that they couldn't explain.

They leaned in, closing the gap between them, Sophia felt a burst of emotion as Jackson's arms wrapped around her.

She had never expected to fall for him, She leaned into his chest and listened to his heartbeat.

"Jackson," she whispered, "I don't know what to say."

He smiled. "You don't have to say anything, Sophia"

He looked into her eyes leaned down and kissed her forehead softly, making her melt.

They broke apart and he caressed her cheek.

"Come on, let's go inside, It's getting cold out here”

Jackson took Sophia’s hand and led her into the building, he followed him, feeling hopeful.

They reached the porch and he opened the door for her. She stepped inside and he followed her. They walked through the living room and headed to the stairs.

She stopped and turned to him. "I think I should go back to my room," she said.

He nodded and said, "Okay. I'll see you in the morning."

He let go of her
