Chapter Forty-two

As soon as Ella and Alexander entered the house, they were greeted by a tall about 6’5 feet, a dignified man in a black suit, with black hair, and a British accent.

He bowed slightly and said, "Welcome, Mr. Alexander, Miss”, referring to Ella I'm Arthur, the butler.

Your father is expecting you, Mr. Alexander, in the drawing room."

He took their coats and hats and led them through a long corridor, lined with paintings and portraits of the Alexander family.

Ella felt like she was walking through a museum, admiring the art and the history. She noticed that Alexander looked a lot like his grandfather, the founder of the house.

He had the same piercing blue eyes, the same strong jaw, the same confident smile.

They reached a large, elegant room, filled with light and warmth. Chandeliers were hanging from the ceiling, casting a soft glow over the furniture and the fireplace.
