Chapter Sixty-eight

Ella bit her lip, lowered her voice, and sighed then looked around the cafe, making sure no one was listening. She leaned closer to Abigail and began to tell her everything.

"Abby, you won't believe what I've been through. It all started with the divorce.

Jackson and I had been married for two years, and we were happy but like you said he had no money, and one day I couldn’t just take it anymore so I found someone else and decided to end it, I filed for divorce and moved out of our house.

I thought that was the best thing for both of us. But I was wrong."

She paused and took a sip of her coffee. Abigail nodded, encouraging her to continue.

"I met Alexander. He was the second son of the Wills family, the most powerful and influential family in the state.

He was somewhat charming but rich, and adventurous, he pursued me relentlessly, showering me with gifts, compliments, and attention.

He took me to exotic places, lavish parties, and romantic dates, but he didn’t know he was a mark
