Chapter Twenty-four

Sophia finished her speech to Paul and waited for his response.

She hoped that he would be sympathetic, that he would be understanding, but Paul requested her to sleep with him first, “to test the waters before we get married” he said, “you’re a pig” Sophia snapped, she stood up and left, ever since then Paul would send messages to her feigning remorse for his action but Sophia didn’t buy it she knew who he was and it was exactly the way he acted, but Paul didn’t give up.

One day Sophia was busy typing on her laptop when she heard a knock on her office door. She looked up and saw Paul standing there, holding a bouquet of roses.

Her heart sank. She had hoped he would leave her alone after she left with him at the restaurant two weeks ago, but he had been calling and texting her non-stop, begging for another chance.

"Paul, what are you doing here?" she asked, trying to sound calm.

"Hi, Sophia. I came to see you. I miss you so much. Please, let's talk. I brought you these flowers. They
