2. A Strange System: Got Reborn Chance

"Mr. Leo Hanstried Werlock. We meet at last. What about your debt?"

Leo's steps stopped after seeing Mr. John, the loan shark boss, approaching him. Leo suddenly made a wary gesture.

"Are you trying to escape?" asked Mr. John with a smirk.

Leo didn't expect Mr. John to come to him under these circumstances. His body was enduring pain. He slowly walked backwards, but suddenly his body was restrained.

When Leo looked back, he saw four of John's bodyguards looking at him sharply. Leo was immediately shocked.

"Where do you want to go, Mr. Leo? You can't escape our debts?" John asked.

Leo felt an instant sense of urgency. This was a dangerous situation. He looked between John and the four bodyguards behind him in turn.

"I'm not trying to escape, Mr. John, I'm trying to find a place to stay," Leo retorted.

John looked incredulous at Leo's words. When his feet stopped two steps in front of Leo, he grabbed his chin.

John looked into Leo's eyes with a piercing gaze. His fingertips almost gripped Leo's cheeks.

At the same time, Leo's hands were held behind his back by John's four bodyguards.

"Pay your debt now, asshole. You can't keep defaulting and dodging!" John snapped at Leo right in front of his face.

Leo closed his eyes as he felt the grip of John's hand on his cheek hurt. The pain made his cheeks cramp.

"I-I'll pay... but I can't... now," Leo stammered back.

John grinned. He further tightened the pressure of the finger grip on both of Leo's cheeks.

The pressure of John's finger grip hit the bruises on Leo's face. The sensation of pain made Leo groan in pain.

"I can't take rejection anymore. I don't want to know how you're doing," John said with emphasis.

"I'll pay..." Leo replied with some difficulty.

John then threw Leo's face roughly. A split second later, John slapped Leo across the face with no regard for the wounds there.

"You're really making me angry. If you're so poor, why do you have to go into debt?!" John asked snapping at Leo.

Leo's body was somewhat unsteady after the heavy blow from John. Leo held his cheek, trying to neutralize the pain on his face.

"I really hate someone like you," John said while pointing at Leo's face.

While Leo looked at John with a slightly downcast look, John continued, "Someone like you has too much style by going into debt, when you're nothing more than a loser!"

John pressed Leo's forehead back with his index finger. The look on John's face was furious.

"If you can't pay your debts now, I'll have to take stern action against you," John said.  

Leo was somewhat surprised when his body was suddenly pulled from behind. He hadn't had time to put up a fight so he was jerked back a few steps.

Four of John's bodyguards dragged Leo's body to the land by the large lake. At that moment, John took the cigarette out of his mouth and shoved it into Leo's cheek.

"Arrrghhh!" Leo cried out in pain.

John didn't care about Leo's moans of pain.

"This is payback for a loser like you," John said.

Four of John's bodyguards kicked Leo's legs until he fell to the ground.

At that moment, John kicked Leo mercilessly. Then John's four bodyguards also delivered punches and kicks to Leo's body.

In the middle of a quiet atmosphere, the torture Leo received left him helpless. His body was already drooping limply on the ground. His vision began to blur as his consciousness diminished.

"Abraham, my nickname is Bram. I am your personal secretary, Mr. Leo," said the man named Bram.

Leo also frowned in confusion. He looked at Bram's hand.

Who is Bram? Wait, what does he mean by private secretary?

"My name is Hans. I'm your head personal bodyguard, Mr. Leo," said the man on Leo's right.

Leo's gaze alternately looked at Bram and Hans. In his entire life, he never seemed to know who the two of them were.
