CHAPTER 2

Before they arrived, they thought that it would take hours for Warrick to plead and perhaps cry for the divorce not to take place but to their utmost surprise, he gave in quicker than they had expected.

So as not to be too obvious that she was feeling some sort of guilt, Yvonne Cooper uttered;

"Since we are both divorced now, then it would be best if you packed your things and moved out of the house, you are no longer welcomed."

"Sure… I believe that's the best next thing to do." Warrick Chase retorted.

He was no longer in the mood to work besides there was no need to continue the act, so he turned and began walking towards the car they (Yvonne and Emily) had both arrived in.

But then when he got to the car, Emily follow suite and stopped him before he opened the door.

"And what do you think you are doing?" She asked with contempt.

"Going home to do my now ex-wife's bidding, is there a problem?"

"Oh yes there is, a lowlife like you can't possibly be seen driving back home with us in such a tattered and stinking uniform, here…" Emily uttered and threw a 10 dollar bill at him the same way he threw the document at her earlier.

To her it was some sort of vindication, so she continued;

"I am sure a cab would be suitable for you, I am pretty sure you have no cash on you, that will be of great help, who knows the taxi driver might have pity on you and take you to the mansion for free."

Warrick was so upset, his fist was held tightly so as not to commit murder, because he was seconds away from losing it. He ignored the ten dollar bill and walked away.

Emily's words were like a sword passed through one's heart, Warrick felt it would be best if he had gone with them, but even now that wasn't an option.

Yvonne and Emily left in the same car they came in, while Warrick flagged down a taxi headed to the Cooper's mansion.

He needed to pack some of his most prized belongings he had left in the mansion.

He thought he was so loved by his wife and that this was his home, but in a blink of an eye, it wasn't anymore.

Soon they arrived at the mansion, Yvonne and Emily alighted from the car and walked into the mansion.

They knew Warrick was behind them and in a taxi so they didn't bother to ask if he was home.

Just as soon as Yvonne stepped into the house, a woman in her early forties ran up to her.

This was her mother, Mrs Sarah Cooper, she was so high-spirited that she couldn't wait for her daughter to come to her.

She was very much curious about how the meeting went.

"Oh my princess, how did it go? Is the divorce signed?"

Yvonne Cooper was extremely tired and stressed, she was very much disturbed about how the divorce papers were signed so quickly that she uttered calmly; "Yes mum."

Mrs Sarah Cooper became even more excited that she said;

"Wow!! This is so wonderful, I am glad that idiot had the decency to do the needful."

As soon as she said that, Warrick walked in and this changed her facial expression, she got upset and confused at the same time.

"I thought you said you were divorced, what is he still doing in this premises?" She asked with furrowed brows and in contempt and yelled;

"You worthless piece of trash, what are you still doing in our house? You are no longer welcome here, what in the world ."

"I came here to pack my things okay? I can at least do that in peace, can't I?"

"Oh for goodness sakes, what could you possibly have to pack out? Everything that is in this house is owned by the Cooper family, and since there is nothing that binds you here anymore, you have nothing worthy in this place."

"I get that they are trash, so let me take out the trash in peace." Warrick stated, he was losing his patience already.

Meanwhile, a manly voice said;

"Of course he is free to take out his so-called things, it really doesn't belong here… but, for all the years he has spent in the mansion, he should pay for it, as it is not a place of charity to host refugees."

Hearing this, Warrick frowned and looked up only to see an unfamiliar face, he then inquired;

"And who are you?"

Rather than for the stranger to reply, Mrs Cooper uttered;

"This is Oliver Dwayne, the only son and heir to the Dwayne's family, and fortune. They are the top 20th most prosperous family in the city, and in case you still don't get that I will explain it to you. Oliver Dwayne here, actually helped secure the contract between Cooper's co-operation ACORN CRAFTS."

Warrick felt it was ridiculous and rolled his eyes, because there was no way in hell would someone in the top 20 families have such power to order Acorn Craft to do their biddings.

The Acorn Crafts Empire are a powerful group, they are no pushovers at all, no one gets to give them orders regardless of how powerful the person turns out to be in the company.

He couldn't believe his ears, so he turned to his wife Yvonne who was standing there watching every single thing going on.

"Is this the reason you wanted a divorce? Talk to me Yvonne, did you ask for a divorce because you feel that he is a better choice? He can give you everything you want right, that is more valuable than our marriage isn't it?"

"It's not that… I… it's…" Yvonne Cooper tries to explain but she just couldn't put her sentences together. She begins to stutter.

"Yes it is, you are not worthy of someone as classy as her." Oliver Dwayne retorted with a fake smile.
