Chapter 4

Kakashi headed back home after his crazy encounter with Jiro. He still couldn't believe all that just happened and what he witnessed. It was almost like he got transmigrated to a Hollywood series or Japanese anime he loved watching.

Kakashi had no idea monsters existed, or the fact that a certain individual possesses some sort of unique technique. It's almost like these Godlinkers and Chaos monsters lived invisibly in the same world as humans.

Jiro did say humans had no idea the monsters existed or about the gods because the monsters won't just waste their time going after weak humans, and Godlinkers are the type of people who love to stay hidden.

But now that Kakashi inhaled the dust of Lord Zodiac, he was now automatically a part of their world and needed to be extra careful in what he did.

Kakashi walked into his tiny one-room apartment that was messed up with trash and junk here and there. Kakashi never bothered to clean up the room since he stayed alone and mostly spent his time on the mountain.

He threw himself on the couch and turned on the television to at least watch some anime and get his mind off things.

A news article was recently displayed on television about the upcoming Japanese convention. The convention involves different Japanese people of different cultures coming together and celebrating.

It happens once in five years, and this year's event was to take place by next month. While watching the news, memories of the past came flashing as Kakashi remembered how he attended the convention with his parents back then.

But now that they are gone, he won't even bother attending. Kakashi changed the news channel to an anime channel and began to watch until he finally dozed off.

The early morning sun rose up and the Ray's flickered into the small room through the window and the ray shone brightly into the eyes of Kakashi, causing him to wake up from his sleep.

He stood up from the couch and went straight to the bathroom to prepare for school. In less than ten minutes, Kakashi was now on his way to school.

Since he lacked money for transportation, he chose to run all the way there. While running, Kakashi was surprised by the distance he could cover within a short period of time.

After running for a few minutes, Kakashi arrived at school and walked in. Walking into the room, Kakashi made his way through the hallway that was now crowded with students as he kept glancing around the place seeking his best friend.

While Kakashi was busy glancing around, he accidentally bumped into a girl and her milkshake fell down to the floor.

"Oh crap, I am so sorry." Kakashi apologized as he bent down and picked up the milkshake shake, handing it over to the girl.

"No, it's fine." The girl responded with a breathtaking smile. The girl had long black hair that touched her waist, her face was super pretty, and her body wasn't looking bad at all. Kakashi kept staring into the girl's eyes as he was lost in her beauty, and the girl also glanced at him also with a warm smile.

The beautiful eye contact was disrupted as an angry boy's voice was heard.

"You stupid, stupid, boy! Why don't you watch where you are going?" Aoki voiced as he approached them.

"No, it's fine, Aoki." The girl known as Rika sounded.

"He just ruined your dress and you are saying it's fine?" Aoki voiced, attempting to close in on Kakashi, but Rika held him back.

"It's not entirely his fault. And besides, I can always wash it off." Rika remarked, trying to calm her boyfriend. "Let's just go, your basketball training will begin soon, right?"

Aoki still glared at Kakashi for a few more seconds before holding Rika's hand and they both walked off. Kakashi watched them leave before scoffing and walking towards the changing room to get ready for practice.

The dressing room's door swung open and Kakashi walked in and swept his gaze through the area. The place was quite empty since he arrived early and the players already changed and gone to practice.

While glancing around the place, Kakashi caught a glimpse of a boy bleeding badly on the floor.

"Eugene!" Kakashi exclaimed after recognizing the boy and swiftly made his way towards him. Eugene looked like he just received a hell of a beating.

His cheeks were red and swollen, blood gushed out of his nose and mouth, and his left eye was closed. His arms and legs also had severe bruises on them that made blood seep out and stain the tiled floor.

"Eugene, what happened?" Kakashi questioned with a worrisome look as he knelt down beside his best friend.

“I-I-I am sorry... I.. I... I can't tell you." Eugene spoke in a low and shaky tone.

"What do you mean you can't tell me? Who did this to you?" Kakashi voiced, his blood boiling in anger as he chose to deny the fact that he already knew who it was.

Why was Eugene in the basketball dressing room in the first place when he wasn't even a part of the basketball team? It means someone dragged him in here to punish him, bully him, or teach him a lesson.

But thinking about it, Kakashi didn't remember Eugene having beef with anyone in the school. Eugene was always the type of guy who loved staying on his own and avoiding trouble.

Since Eugene harmed no one, means he had no enemy that wanted revenge on him. It could only mean they beat him up to send a message to someone close to him.

"Yesterday, Aoki threatened me to drop out of the basketball team or I will regret it. Did Aoki do this to you, Eugene?!" Kakashi questioned, his voice filled with rage and his face bright red in anger.

"I.. I... I.. can't tell you." Saying those words, Eugene passed out.
