"Natalie's boyfriend? Is this the guy you've been dating, the one you've been covering all his bills for?" One of the ladies bombarded Natalie with questions. They had heard a lot about Victor but had never met him before.
Natalie felt ashamed and couldn't bring herself to look at her friends. She hadn't expected Victor to show up at the restaurant; she assumed he would be at work.
"Oh my, Natalie, is this really your boyfriend?" Another girl inquired. They couldn't believe Natalie was dating someone like Victor.
Natalie slowly raised her head, her eyes filled with discomfort. "Yes, Victor is my boyfriend, the one I've been telling you all about," she admitted.
"Oh my gosh, girl, why are you dating such a poor and unattractive guy like him?" One of the girls stared at Victor with disdain.
"Yeah, you're so beautiful, and you shouldn't be with someone like him. Plus, he can't even afford to take care of you. Just look at him," the second girl remarked, rolling her eyes at Victor.
"Goodness, Natalie, I can't believe you settled for a loser like him," the third girl chimed in. Natalie felt incredibly embarrassed and furious at the situation. She loved Victor, which was the main reason she had stayed with him for so long. However, she had always been ashamed to go out with him or introduce him to her friends and family.

"Look at his shoes." Her friends mocked Victor openly. Victor was becoming increasingly embarrassed and couldn't believe what he was hearing right in front of him.
"Yeah, Victor, you're such a failure," Natalie's friends taunted. Natalie didn't know how to react but felt ashamed as she stood up and turned to face Victor.
"Why are you even here? I thought you should be at work by now," she said, her eyebrows furrowing in frustration.
"I got fired earlier," he replied with shame.
"Oh, my goodness, you're such a disappointment! I can't believe I've been with you for this long!" Natalie exclaimed; her voice filled with disappointment. The commotion at their table had drawn the attention of everyone in the restaurant.
"I can't deal with your nonsense anymore. From this moment, we're done, and I don't want anything to do with you. Make sure you stay away from me, and I'm going to block your number and all your social media!" She shouted at him.
