DELIVERY JOB SECURED

Victor knew he couldn't reveal the truth about the system, so he had to come up with a plausible explanation. "I've been working as a cleaner at a software company for a few years now. Over that time, I managed to save up a decent amount of money, which I spent earlier. But I really do need a job. Although I bought shares in the hotel as an act of revenge, I can see it being a great investment, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes. So, please, is there anything you can do to help me?" Victor hoped that his fabricated story would convince Esther to lend him a hand.

"That's impressive. You know, if I had known the money you used to pay for our dinner was your life savings, I wouldn't have let you pay. Regardless, I can help you secure a job. I own a delivery company called Premount Delivery Company. Have you ever heard of it?" Esther asked.

Victor's eyes widened, and his mouth fell open. Premount Delivery Company was one of the most reputable companies in the entire country and learning that Esther was the owner left him in awe.

"Yes!" he exclaimed.

"That's good to hear. I own the company, and I can find a spot for you as a delivery man if you're interested," Esther offered.

"Of course, please do that. That would be amazing," Victor responded with a bright smile.

Esther was pleased to see Victor smiling after the ordeal with Natalie. Helping him find a job seemed like a fitting way to end their evening.

"Alright, I'll need your contact information, and I'll do my best to find a suitable position for you," she said with a smirk, glad to have been able to bring some joy to Victor's face.

Esther collected Victor's contact information and informed him, "I'll be heading back home. I'll be in touch," before walking away from the table.

Meanwhile, Natalie and her friends were in another hotel room after getting kicked out of the first one. Natalie and two of the girls were lying on a large queen-sized bed, while Tacha sat on a couch at the side of the bed.

"I can't believe we had to face such humiliation at that hotel because of your good-for-nothing ex-boyfriend," Tacha exclaimed, her brows furrowing.

"It's unbelievable how much power he had in that hotel. Do you think it could be because of Esther Kingston? And how does he know her? I can't wrap my head around how all this came to be," Natalie pondered, placing both hands on her head.

Tacha stood up abruptly. "I don't know, and I don't care. All I know is I can't let him go free after the humiliation he caused us back there," she declared.

"I'll be back, ladies. Let me quickly make an important call," Tacha announced as she left the hotel room and headed to the rooftop. There, she dialed an unknown number.

"What's good, boss?" a deep, manly voice answered on the other end.

"I need you to head over to a hotel and find a certain person. Rough him up, but don't kill him. That would require a cleanup. Just give him a serious beating and let him go," Tacha ordered boldly. Tacha was the daughter of a dangerous and feared Mafia boss in South Dakota. Despite her father's facade as a legitimate businessman running a wine company, he was involved in illegal activities, including narcotics and human trafficking.

"Okay, boss. Send me the details, and I'll be there in no time," the voice on the other end replied.

"I'll send them now. Make sure you get there as soon as possible. Let me know when you're done," Tacha instructed before ending the call.

She sent a picture of Victor and the location of the hotel to the number, then deleted all the messages from her phone and kept it in her pocket. She couldn't afford for anyone to know what she was up to.

"Victor is going to learn a lesson for humiliating me and my friends. After Duke is done with him, I'm sure he won't be able to walk for a few weeks. No one messes with me and goes free," she mumbled to herself with a sinister smile.

Victor had signed the shares document and discussed the investment with Stephen. He was walking down the large hallway toward the exit when he realized he needed a cab to get home. He couldn't help but reflect on how his day had gone from a big mess to a pleasant evening.

"I can't believe that after treating me to dinner, Esther left just like that. Well, I can't blame her; she's done a lot for me. I can't believe she's the famous Esther Kingston, and I didn't realize it sooner. Someone of her caliber was that kind and nice to me. Even though my day started as a big mess, I'm glad of how I ended the evening," he thought, wearing a bright smile.

Suddenly, a massive motorbike pulled up in front of him, and a towering man stepped off. He stood about 7 feet tall and had bulging muscles.

"You're Victor, right?" the man asked, fixing his gaze on Victor. He recognized Victor immediately. This was Duke, the man Tacha had sent.

Confused, Victor didn't recognize the man and wondered how he knew his name. "Yes, and who are you?" Victor inquired, raising an eyebrow. The man had positioned himself near the road, giving the impression that he might offer a ride. Since he couldn't confront Victor in front of the hotel where many people could intervene, he thought of tricking Victor into coming with him.

"I'm the guy here to offer you a ride. I noticed you might need one," Duke responded calmly.

Victor was puzzled. He didn't know this man, and he couldn't fathom why someone would offer him a ride. Suspicion grew within him.

"No, I don't need a ride, thank you," Victor replied bluntly.

Duke's eyebrows furrowed, and he moved closer, gripping Victor's right arm tightly. "Listen, you're going to come with me, whether you like it or not," he said in a deep, aggressive tone that sent shivers down Victor's spine. Victor needed to find a way out of this situation, but he couldn't afford to show his fear.
