Even though he had these doubts, he was still hopeful that something good might come out. This was the first time he felt hopeful in a long time.

He thought of calling Esther immediately, telling her that he had secured the job, and thanking her. He picked up his cellphone and called Esther; she answered the call.

“Hey, what’s up?” She asked calmly.

“I got the job, and I want to thank you for helping me secure the job; you are the best,” Victor said with a lot of excitement in his voice.

“Don’t mention it; I am glad you got the job,” she replied.

“So, how are you doing? I hope you are feeling better. And have you gotten over your breakup?” Esther bombarded him with questions.

“I am feeling better, and I have gotten over the breakup. I feel good,” he responded. Victor didn’t want to further involve Esther in his problems.

“How about you? How’s your day going?” Victor inquired.

“It’s going great,” she responded.
