VINCENT MILES: AND THE FIST OF FIRE

CHAPTER 13:BIG BAD LUCKY DAY

The next day was as hectic as the other days. Media was still camping outside the Academy hoping to interview someone inside. But the headmaster is yet to answer their questions because he still needs to clarify things. Vincent, Champ, Jamie and Faye walked through the hallway of the Queen’s Building as they just finished their normal history class. And as they turned to their left, they ran into a group of students. These students have brought a different kind of atmosphere around them. They were wearing neatly done uniforms and has different colors of armbands attached to their left arms. Vincent then focused on the one boy in the middle of the other pack. It was a student who has blond hair, handsome face and somehow Vincent felt that they were similar for some reason. This student wore a white armband on his left. And then, a shining name badge on the student’s chest has caught the attention of Vincent. He narrowed his eyes and was shocked to have read what is written on it.

It says,         “WILLIAM ANTONIO GOLD

                     CENTRAL HERO ACADEMY

              STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT”

Vincent then noticed that Champ and the twins were also surprised by this situation. And now, the 4 believes that this meeting probably will now end well either.

“Good day, Vincent Miles and friends!” cheerfully said by William.

Behind the smiling president was a bulky man and was glaring at Vincent. Because Vincent wants to avoid further troubles, he respectfully greeted the president. Then William noticed that Vincent’s friends were backing away slowly, like they don’t want to get dragged into a fiasco. William laughed.

“You 3 don’t need to retreat. I’m not here to take revenge. We just bumped into each other by sheer coincidence right, Vincent?” says the president.

Vincent then forced a grin. “Yeah, I guess,” says Vincent then took a deep breath and flung his bag over his shoulder again “Well Mr. President, we’ve got a class to attend to. It was nice meeting you here.” Vincent added then nodded at his friends.

William gave a wide smile at Vincent and let them pass. Vincent and his friends walked slowly to pass them and when they were about to go down the stairs, someone grabbed Vincent’s arm. He looked back and saw a student with long black hair like his and sea green eyes. This student then pulled Vincent towards him, and now they are only an inch away from each other’s faces. The student then began to sniff Vincent from his head to his armpits and then snickered. Vincent then forced his way out of the student’s grip and backed up. He then aimed his eyes to the badge of this student and it says,       

                          “HAJIME RYU

               CENTRAL HERO ACADEMY

   STUDENT COUNCIL VICE PRESIDENT”

The student who is named Ryu then extended his hand to Vincent, offering a shake. Vincent shook it and Ryu pulled Vincent towards him again and sniffed him, but luckily, Vincent managed to wiggle his way out and said his good byes to the Council. William then laughed as he just saw the awkwardness in Vincent’s face.

“How many times do I have to tell you. Don’t go around and sniff people, Ryu.” William scolded.

Ryu then looked at him and grinned “He does not smell bad at all, pres. He smelled like a true hero. Is he really worth to fight?” he asked.

William sighed. “I also told you that we aren’t allowed to speak of this matter in public. But yes, we need to extinguish that man because it’s the right thing to do.” Says William.

He then ordered his members to now attend their classes. And at the same time Vincent and his friends are now quickly walking towards their next class which is self-defense. They asked Vincent questions on what is his thoughts about the meeting with the Council, but he had none to give. What he does know is that something is wrong, the smile of the president is too fake, and anyone can notice it. And deep into the President’s eyes, Vincent can feel the heavy burden he is carrying since he himself is carrying one and he knows what it feels to suffer from something horrible. They then arrived in their classroom with 30 seconds to spare. And when their teacher, Norman, was about to start their lesson, someone knocked on the door. Norman then annoyingly went out to see who it is. And in just seconds, he went back in and looked at the back of the classroom where Vincent is.

“The troublemaker Miles, the headmaster has called for you, hurry.” Norman ordered.

Vincent then stood up, flung his bag onto his shoulder and excused himself. As he exited the room, he immediately saw the secretary of the headmaster.

“Vincent Miles, would you please follow me.” Says the secretary then Vincent followed her until they reached the headmaster’s office.

The door opened and there inside stood the first-class students with Emanuel in front of them. The secretary then asked Vincent to line up besides them and he did, he stood on their right and looked at the headmaster. But what piqued his attention is that there are 2 other people who are standing in front of them. On the left who is in front of the first-class class students was a heroic looking man and was wearing the same lion fur cape that his brother is wearing. So, Vincent already figured out that this man is a member of the Majestic Lions hero squad. And then Vincent looked at the one in front of him. It was a dark-skinned, tall and bald man with his arms across his chest and observing Vincent from his head to his toes. But Vincent didn’t pay any attention to it and just stood there, waiting for the headmaster to talk.

Finally, the headmaster stood up and cleared his throat.

“Good day everyone. As you all noticed, we have here 2 honorable guests. Let them introduce themselves.” Says the headmaster.

The one who is in front of the first-class then cleared his throat “I’m Samson Alexis, also know as the WarFreak and I’m the Vice-Captain of the Majestic Lions. Pleasure to meet you all.” Greeted the man.

Vincent was shocked because he was not expecting this guy to be the second-in-command of his brother. The one in front of him then took a deep breath.

“Good day troublemakers! I’m Michael Pole, also known as Southern Golem and I’m the 2nd Division Commander of the Dragons.” Says the man then bowed.

The Dragons? Why is a man from the most famous and most powerful squad here? That Vincent doesn’t know. 2 members of famous and powerful squads are here, and to top it all off, the headmaster himself is a high-ranking hero and I higher than these 2, so this is why the room is filled with pressure that is knocking the air out of the students. The headmaster then clapped his hands.

“Now that the introductions have been held. Let us now go to the purpose of this meeting,” says the headmaster then he looked at the students.

He then smiled “Today is the start of your punishment. Your hero internship starts today.” Says the headmaster.
