Chapter 1-At the Wedding Party

At Villa Star

At the doorstep of a classy and expensive villa, Sheva-a beautiful woman wearing a long red dress and a beautiful body-was blinking a pair of eyes and expressionlessly at a man in front of her. That man was James Timothy.

"James, you won't talk much later!" Sheva said to James with a serious look in her eyes.

"Today's matter is very important. I plan to negotiate with them to help my father's property business get through this critical period," Sheva continued.

James replied, "Yes. I know." He nodded his head.

They were husband and wife, two years ago James Timothy and Sheva Hilton were married on the orders of Sheva's grandfather. Mr. Hilton married off his youngest granddaughter to a man who was poor and had no power. No one dared to contradict that order at that time. The reason why Mr. Hilton married off Sheva to James was unknown to anyone other than Mr. Hilton and James.

However, a year ago Mr. Hilton died, and since then James's life in the Hilton family has been increasingly humiliated.

Sheva, who loved her grandfather very much, had to accept her grandfather's order to marry a poor man like James. Up until now, they still have no real husband and wife relationship.

Sheva and James entered Villa Star, today is the wedding of Edwin Hilton's daughter, he is the eldest son of Mr. Hilton who holds the power of the Hilton family. The wedding party was lively, inviting business bosses from various fields from several cities and countries. And all Hilton family members were present as well.

Inside is a grand and beautifully decorated villa, there is also a flower garden and a beautiful small pond. These were all properties of Edwin's business.

Outside the villa, a line of classy and expensive cars stopped. Like Maserati, Porsche 91, Cayenne, and Audi.

"Hi, Sheva. I guess you must have come here by taxi, right? Why didn't you call me? I can send a car to pick you up. Because, today is so important, you'd be embarrassing the Hilton family if you came here by taxi." A grown man said that to Sheva. He is Tommy Hilton. The eldest son of Edwin Hilton.

Tommy took off his sunglasses and glanced at James and Sheva with a look of contempt.

Sheva was silent, she didn't answer right away.

Eden Hilton was Sheva's father, who was also James' father-in-law. In the Hilton family, Eden was the poorest son because all of his other relatives were greedier to grab Mr. Hilton's wealth. In the end, Eden only got a property management factory that was on the verge of being bankrupt. Therefore, with Eden's family's poor economic situation, Sheva could not buy a car to go anywhere.

"Sheva, I told you a long time ago, that you should divorce your poor husband. And I will introduce you to my friend who is the son of a rich man in this country. If you had obeyed me back then, you wouldn't be struggling financially today." Tommy said with great enthusiasm, and he didn't care about James' existence.

"But, of course, you're not too late, Sheva. If you want to be rich, you can divorce your husband, and then you can beg me to introduce you to one of my rich friends," Tommy said again proudly.

"Tommy, have you finished talking?" Sheva asked coldly.

"Hey, as your brother, I just feel sorry for you. I was kind enough to give you a solution, but you got upset and still didn't take my advice. So, just enjoy your poverty for the rest of your life!" Tommy told Sheva casually.

Then, Tommy glanced at James. "James, why are you at my sister's wedding?" He continued, "By the way, I heard that your father-in-law's property business doesn't have operating funds anymore, right? And already unable to pay the employees' salaries, I heard that it will soon go bankrupt."

"It could be that you came here to persuade my father to lend you money, right?" Tommy continued. He chuckled.

James just stared at Tommy, and chose not to respond to Tommy's words.

Sheva sighed, she tried to keep her anger in check, and then she said to her husband. "Be patient, don't mind him. We came here today to take care of a serious matter."

James nodded his head.

Inside the hall, it was a spacious, western-style building, the decor was classy and expensive, and in front of it stretched a long layer of red carpet.

Sheva was carrying a beautiful gift box. She walked up to the bride and flashed a smile. "Luna, congratulations on your wedding." Sheva congratulated her older cousin.

Luna Hilton, has a beautiful face. She had fair skin, but she was haughty.

Luna gave Sheva a quick glance with a flat expression, then she said, "Put the gift there!"

"Ok," Sheva replied.

"Luna, I'll accompany you here, okay?" Sheva said and smiled at Luna.

"No need. You don't have to be nice to me. I know what you're up to. This has to be about your father, right? My family won't help." Luna said coldly.

Sheva's smile froze, replaced with a wound in her heart that could not be closed. She clenched her hands into fists, and her body trembled slightly as well.

Before her grandfather died and before she married James, Luna was very kind to her. But now she had turned so indifferent and cold towards Sheva.

Luna Hilton is married to one of the rich son in the country. The wedding was very grand, all the Hilton family came to celebrate. All the guests were also respectable and worthy. And Sheve was silent for a moment after thinking about this, in her heart she thought about how difficult her father's economic situation was. However, Sheva's face remained smiling and followed Luna's footsteps.

While James sat in place, from a distance he saw Luna's behavior towards Sheva. In his heart, there was also pain in seeing his wife treated like that.

At the banquet table where James was, all the sons-in-law of the Hilton family were also sitting there. However, all of these sons-in-law except James were rich and had power. Compared to James' position, it was no comparison at all.

And so, no one greeted James. They ignored James' existence.

"All the Hilton family's sons-in-law are here already? Let's drink together!" A voice rang out, it was Tommy. He approached all the Hilton family in-laws, carrying a glass of wine.

"Tommy, we should cheers for you!"

Tommy had a relaxed expression. He was highly praised and respected by the other in-laws, as he was the main heir of the Hilton family. Neighborhood, wealth, position, and everything else elevated Tommy above the other Hilton family in-laws.

Tommy glanced at James, he saw that James was not joining them. He wasn't holding a glass of wine.

"James, are you underestimating me? Why aren't you holding a glass of wine?!" Tommy asked coldly and gave James a sharp look.

Swoosh!

Within a second, Tommy flung out his hand to pour a glass of wine on James' face.
