Chapter 2-Going Home to His In-Laws

The nose-piercing aroma of wine drenched James' shirt, his face felt a little hot.

There was no one to help James. All of them were staring at him with cynical eyes.

James' gaze became sharp, but he remembered Sheva's face who was working hard for her father. So, he had to restrain himself from making a mess here. James had to be patient, and he could only endure his own annoyance.

"Fine, I cheers for you!" James wiped the remaining wine off his face, and slowly stood up.

Tommy didn't expect that James could patiently endure him not replying. The corner of Tommy's lips turned up in a sardonic smile. Inwardly, he secretly laughed.

When James stood up, Tommy suddenly backed up and pretended to fall down, as he deliberately overturned the wine and whiskey drinks on the table that was a banquet for the guests.

Buzz!

The table was overturned, dozens of bottles of expensive wine and whiskey were all smashed. It caused a stir in this entire room.

"James, you're a coward! You dare push me and try to hit me?!" Tommy shouted loudly.

"What's wrong?" Luna asked, walking over. Sheva followed beside her. Including Hans-Luna's groom.

All the guests in the hall surrounded the scene.

"Luna, today is your wedding day. But, James dared to push and hit me. He wants to rebel!" Tommy said with an angry expression on his face, and he stared at James viciously. He looked as if he had been severely bullied by James.

"James, what's wrong with you?" Hans asked while holding back his anger.

"Tommy fell by himself. I didn't push him." James said honestly.

"Then why did Tommy say that you pushed and hit him?" Hans asked again with a dark and cold aura.

James shrugged his shoulders. Then he said, "People who were in this place witnessed that Tommy fell by himself. If you don't believe me, just ask them."

"Hans, James is lying! Just now, I was cheering with them, and strangely enough James immediately came to push and hit me. Everyone saw it!"

Then, Hans looked at the people who were there and asked them. "Everyone, how is the truth? What did you see?" Hans asked the other son-in-law of the Hilton family.

"As Tommy said, James deliberately pushed and tried to hit Tommy. Maybe James had too much to drink so he was drunk."

"Yeah. The smell of wine from James' mouth was so strong, he alone drank wine until his whole body was wet. Then, Tommy came over to make cheers with us, but James shoved him right away!"

"Yeah. That's what we saw."

Some of the Hilton family's sons-in-law said seriously. Of course they would support Tommy, even if Tommy lied.

James' expression was shocked. The corners of his mouth turned up in a painful smile.

James didn't explain anymore. Because for him it was useless. A weak person like him would not be heard and believed by them.

In the Hilton family, James was the one who had the lowest position. Even if he wasn't wrong, others would still say that he was!

"What a shame!"

"Why did Mr. Hilton choose a son-in-law like James? Who is useless and can only make noise!"

The guests watching talked and satirized James dispassionately.

"James, you really are useless!" Sheva said angrily. She felt that this was very embarrassing. Certainly, Luna would not want to help Sheva's father's business problem, since James had made a scene here.

"James! Hurry up and apologize to Hans and Luna!" Sheva said angrily. The trouble James had caused her was embarrassing.

James looked into his wife's teary eyes. After that, reluctantly while gritting his teeth, James said, "Hans, Luna, I apologize. Today I was wrong for making a mess at your wedding."

Off to the side, Tommy Hilton was almost laughing madly. He was so happy.

"James, you're an adult man. You've made a mistake, but you don't take responsibility! You were wrong, but earlier you slandered Tommy. I look down on people like you the most!" Luna said coldly.

Hans' face also became upset, because at his wedding there was a riot because of James. In fact, the guests who came were big people or famous figures.

"James, I don't accept your apology! But, today I can't hit you either. So, get out of here! In the future, don't ever appear in front of me ever!" Hans said angrily.

James sighed. He didn't care about the strange looks of the guests around him. He turned to walk outside.

When James turned around, Luna said to Sheva, "Sheva, don't you want me to help your father through the bankruptcy of your family business? I'll help you, provided that when you go home, you divorce this useless James! After that, I will help your father's business."

James stopped his walking, but he didn't look back at Luna. Two seconds later, he was walking out again.

After exiting the villa, James lit a cigarette. He was guessing what Sheva would do next.

"Let's go home!" Behind James, there was a familiar voice. James turned around, and he saw Sheva. There were still puddles of tears in her eyes.

James said, "Home? What about your mission to help your father?"

Sheva said angrily, "I told you that we were getting a divorce. But it was me who chose to get divorced, and not them being forced to get divorced. I don't want to be forced."

"I'll think of another way to help my father. They've insulted and slandered you, that's insulting me too!"

James was moved. He didn't expect that Sheva would side with him.

"James, I'm sorry." Sheva said while wiping her tears. "When I was in the hall, I was too angry. But after calming down and thinking, you wouldn't have dared to hit Tommy. Because, you never drink wine or any kind of alcohol."

James asked, "You believe me?"

Sheva nodded, "Yeah. I believe you."

"Thank you for believing in me," James said. In his heart, James promised not to let anyone who believed in him down.

Sheva's house was on the edge of Leeds, it was a real estate 20 years ago, that's why it looked old and shabby.

Once inside the house, the expressions on Eden Hilton and Maria Jil's faces were very serious looking at James. They are James' father and mother-in-law.

"James, you still dare to come back here?" Maria smiled sarcastically.
