The next day, the usual heavy downpour on city rose regressed, even though the sun didn’t exactly shine like other places but a light drizzle is still worth throwing a party over.
Elias and Angel were riding a carriage into the interior of the city, the city is divided into the interior, mostly for the wealthy, nobles and royals, and then there is the common region or the commoner region of the city, where the middle class and some higher class citizens live in, also the place Angel and Elias live, and finally the exterior, the most unstable place in city rose, mostly occupied by third class citizens of the city.Elias has never been in the interior before, so he kept on admiring the beautiful view of the city till it reached the point Angel was worried for her reputation.“You keep staring like that and everyone will know you’re a country pumpkin”, Angel said helplessly.“But I am a country pumpkin”, Elias said while smiling warmly at Angel’s annoyed look. While Elias kept on admiring the stunning views. Angel silently gazed at the endless stream of passerby’s, she seemed mesmerized while reminiscing of the old times with her crew and the precious moments they spent together to the point she inevitably started murmuring to herself.“Everyone, I’m still trying, I promise”.“What was that, did you say something?”. Elias questioned with a curios expression.Angel turned to face Elias but she didn’t say anything, infact she still seemed outside minded, Angel’s silent stare made he’s face heat up till he couldn’t help but ask her.“Arrr, Angel, is something on my face?”.Elias has never seen Angel like this before, he smiled wearily while trying he’s hardest to hide how nervous he was on the inside.“My son is really handsome, make sure you bring back a good daughter in-law for me, ok”.Elias’s face stiffened, Angel’s smile as she asked for a daughter in-law was both beautiful and nerve racking.Elias lifted he’s hands defensively and said while stammering. “I-I, a daughter in-law, that seems a little out of place don’t you think”.“What, you’re not confident”. Angel said with a sly smirk.“Well, it depends”. Elias said with an ambiguous smile, at the moment the image of a silver haired beauty flashed in he’s head.Angel smiled knowingly before signalling the carriage driver to stop.“Why did we stop?”. A puzzled Elias asked.“Get off”. Angel said without an explanation.“Ohm”.Moments later the carriage drove away with Elias left standing by the roadside with a ‘What the fuck’ expression on he’s face.Elias glanced at the folder Angel gave to him, he was supposed to present that at the academy but he didn’t think he would be doing it alone.Elias felt like a child that had been abandoned, while the other kids had their parents do everything for them, he’s been left to fend for himself. But staying stagnant was never he’s thing to begin with, Elias followed the crowd as he took he’s time admiring the magnificent interior of city rose till the sun passed it’s peak.At this point Elias was a little hungry, but it seemed like he wondered to a slightly secluded district, the amount of people walking by dropped considerably and the only things in view seemed to be mega buildings clearly meant for big shots of the empire.“Where the fuck are my now, Angel won’t let me hear the end of this if I miss the entrance test”. Elias said with a worried look.Suddenly Elias crashed into a figure causing them to fall to the ground, Elias glanced down at the person that he accidentally walked into, the person is a she, the girl seemed to be around Elias’s age, dark oily skinned with short braids decorated with golden locks, the girl was beautiful and dressed in a strange attire with a white scarf covering half her lower face, the girl was clearly not from the empire.“Are you alright?”.Elias asked as he helped her to her feet’s.“Yeah, thank you friend”.“Kuluwa, wait up”. A boy the same age as them called out while running over.Eventually the boy made it while panting and taking short breaths.“Don’t just run off and leave me behind like that, I almost got lost again”.Kuluwa nervously squeezed the bottom of her white scarf and said. “No Geoffrey, I think I was the one that was lost this time around, but this friend found me”.Geoffrey finally looked over at the awkward Elias, he beamed and shook Elias’s hand and thanked him.“Thank you Mr”.Elias immediately felt like throwing up, he didn’t think they’ll be a day someone from the same age group as him will ever call him Mr.“Are you alright sir”. Geoffrey obliviously asked seeing the peculiar expression on Elias’s face.“My name is Elias”. Finally Elias succeeded in forcing out a sentence without also throwing a punch.“And my name is Geoffrey, my friends name is Kuluwa”. Geoffrey also introduced himself and the lady.Elias sighed inwardly in relief as Geoffrey finally stopped the atrocious mode of address, of course Geoffrey is just a naturally polite person and Elias has realised that but it still annoyed him.“Are you going to the academy as well”. Kuluwa asked with a soft voice.Elias glanced down at the documents and replied. “yes, I got myself lost and now here I am”.Kuluwa smiled lightly, “same with us, why don’t we search together to avoid getting lost again”.“Yeah, let’s”.For some reason Elias felt warm and relaxed around Kuluwa, it’s possible that was the natural aura surrounding her or it could be how he felt personally, but either way staying together was the best option at the moment. And just like that the trio went ahead and started asking the nearby passerby’s for directions to the Empires military academy for mages.City Rose, interior.Elias, Kuluwa and Geoffrey stood before a massive black gate, the top of the gate had a black rose edged at the top and the black steel the gate was forged from gave the academy an ancient and heavy air, and the fact that barely anybody is sighted around the area or even walking in and out of the gate added an ominous vibe to the already cold exterior of the magic academy. The person amongst the trio with the most exaggerated expression had to be Geoffrey, he’s mouth looked like it was about to suck in a river as he marveled in awe.“So should we go in or?”. “Let’s go”. Elias answered Geoffrey without any hesitation, he seemed so determined that Kuluwa had to give him a second look....The interior of the academy wasn’t as big as they expected, in-fact they only saw one or two buildings in site, and in front a slightly less disappointing building that seemed like a reception of some sort. The trio didn’t waste time mincing words and went straight in.The first t
Within the dark hallway. The trio silently followed the male guard in brown uniform till Elias finally broke the fragile silence.“If I may, I would like to pose a question that has bothered me for a while now?”. “Go on ahead”. The man replied calmly.Elias swallowed softly, the mans overly serious expression pressured them, but that didn’t stop Elias from imposing.“What is the school actually called?, some people call it the military academy for mages while others call it the academy of mages, what is it exactly?”.The guards expression was still as indifferent as always. “That’s two questions, but I’ll still answer them both...”. The footsteps of the guard echoed through the quiet hallway as the trio held their breaths in anticipation, and then finally he began to speak.“Firstly the schools name isn’t what the masses call it nor does it have any peculiar fancy titles, it’s not reserved to a specific group and the name is simply Academy, and as I said the school isn’t reserved fo
The skies in the interior of city rose were deem, the dark clouds hugged the sun and sheeted the sun light from the city.“Rachel Almshouse, come forward”. A guard in brown uniform called out to which a young female enlistee rushed out and responded.“Here sir”.The guard looked this girl over, the kid looked really clumsy, seeming like one of those klutzy middle aged teachers from a degenerate romcom.“Activate your magic and strike down the target in front of you”. Rachel took in a sharp breath and glared at the circular arrow head target in front of her, Rachel was so grim that even the guard was starting to feel nervous.Rachel lifted her hand and aimed squarely at the target, she skewed her eyes into slits.Astonishingly, A cluster of small fireflies looking objects that glowed with a white light began to materialize in-front of her.The more focused Rachel seemed the more tensed the crowd became, suddenly Rachel screamed, startling Dawn Allen, causing the guy next to him that
Empire voltrose is one of worlds leading powers, grand and ancient, powerful in its military and magical attainments and its capital city Rose has stood for over a thousand years, the blocks used to build the cities magnificent architecture stands proudly as a testament to its long standing history. The city looks incredibly identically to 18th to 19th century Europe. Same with the dressing of the passing peasants. The whether in city Rose never changes, always dark, gloomy and wet, “And want to know something else that never changes, it’s the bra size of our very favorite waitress Angel ahhhhhh,” The perverted young man screamed in horror as he was flung from his sit all the way to the entrance of the broken down tavern. Everyone glanced at him before looking back at the valiant warrior that flung the rascal like a sack of cotton and suppringly it was a woman, a perfectly well proportioned waitress in a short dress. “Good throw!!!”. The crowd praised unanimously.Angel huffed wit
Within the commoner region of city rose the endless shower never seem to cease, making the streets desolate of human presence. but nevertheless as the cry of the early morning rooster pierced through the dark clouds the people of city rose finally began to go about their daily lives.A crack of lightning could be heard as the pouring shower became a drizzle, but this sound didn’t come from the sky but from a particular house in the neighbourhood, everyone around the area were already used to it so they only sighed and thought to them selves.”Here we go again”.Elias burst through the door of the house quickly followed by yellow lightning, “get back here Elias”. The voice of an angry woman could be heard all the way to city gates with the guards themselves smiling wearily after realising who it was.Angel jumped down from the stairway with a flip, accompanied by charging electric currents, she punched towards the door at Elias.Elias’s hairs stood on end as he felt an electric chill run
Elias lent a hand to the cloaked individual, He noticed that the person doesn’t seem to be that older than him or possibly even younger.“You alright bro, didn’t hurt you did I”. Elias subconsciously spoke softly as he felt the innate and physical weakness of the person he was grasping ahold of.“Hmm Hmm”. The person responded, clearly still not fully recovered from the concussion. They looked deeply at Elias’s pure clear eyes, his silky black hair and well defined features, the person was incredibly handsome even as a fourteen or thirteen year old.“Oh no”. They suddenly jerked, grasping Elias’s arm and attempting to continue running, it was like they were afraid someone will come kidnap them. But how can they possibly pull someone like Elias without his consent, Elias didn’t even budge an inch from where he was standing.“What’s wrong, is your mother chasing you as well”. Elias inquired patiently.“We don’t have time to waste, he’s coming and when he does he’ll definitely kill you”.
Elias fully knew the terror of a mage, especially when they ain’t trying to raise you into an outstanding adult, so he didn’t even wait for the shop owner to even finish screaming before he once more grabbed the cloaked girl and bolted towards the old clock tower, Elias knew full well that getting to a high vantage point will allow Angel to instantaneously spot him from anywhere in the city, as for how she does it, he didn’t really know but somehow she does and that was all the comfort he needed at the moment. The stairs of the old clock tower were weak and worn out, Stepping on the wrong place could immediately send someone down several feet’s to their graves, naturally Elias already mastered the exact pattern needed to reach the top but you can’t say the same for the fragile little girl besides him.Elias didn’t wait to ask for permission, this wasn’t a cliche mid nineteenth century romcom, he immediately proceeded to carry her in a princess position and began hopping from stair to
Elias held the girls hand tightly, the dark mage seemed ready to spill blood, Elias has never felt so much pressure in his short life, the shadow mage stood in between them and the door to the clock tower’s roof.“Hey, shadow dude”.“WHAT”. The shadow mage snapped at Elias, clearly still holding a grudge.“Have you ever heard off a dust-flame mage before”. Elias said with an ambiguous smile.“No, dual magic mages don’t exist”. The shadow mage answered angrily, he doesn’t know why but Elias’s smiling face really pisses him off.Elias chuckled darkly, “well that’s because they haven’t seen one before”. Elias said trying to add an air of mystery to his distraction. At this point the shadow mage is at he’s limit, the only reason he hasn’t ripped Elias to shreds was because he shamelessly stuck close to the cloaked little girl.“Just die”. Suddenly a dark hand shot out of the mans shadow, clearly intent on grabbing Elias, separating him from the cloaked girl was first priority before slowl
