"Yes madam." the maid answered.
"Okay. You can leave." Mom said to the maid. The maid left and mom turned to dad.
"You can sit down now." Mom told dad and he sat.
"Why did the maid need to disinfect the sofa?" Dad asked mom as she sat beside him and I sat on a different sofa.
"Tamira brought in some filth earlier today." Mom said.
'What filth?" Dad asked.
Knowing that mom was referring to Devon, I had to oppose immediately. "Devon is a human being, not filth mom," I said to her.
"Yes, a very dirty human being." Mom said.
"You brought someone inside the mansion in my absence?" Dad asked me.
"And not just anyone dear. Tamira brought a poor dirty nobody into the mansion. He didn't even have any footwear on. He left his footprints everywhere." Mom said.
Dad ignored her.
"Why?" he asked me.
"Dad, I hit him with my car by accident and that's why I brought him inside. Just to help him out and make sure he was okay. We are friends now." I explained.
"That was very sweet of you dear. I am proud to call you my daughter." Dad said.
"What?!" Mom exclaimed.
"Are you going to support that?!" Mom questioned dad.
"Why not? She is doing the right thing? And what's wrong with her making friends?" Dad replied to mom.
"Nothing. As long as it is people of her class," she told dad then turned her attention to me and stood on her feet.
"I don't want to see you anywhere near that man or else you will regret it." Mom said.
"What will you do mom?! What will you do?! I can mix up with whoever I want and there is nothing you or anyone else can do about it!" I yelled.
"Tamira do not raise your voice at me! I am your mother! I forbid you from going to the poor people's side of the city again! I will cut all your allowance and fire you if you repeat the same mistake!" Mom yelled.
"How did you know where I was?" I asked her.
"That doesn't matter. All I know is that you will not be seen anywhere near those poor people. You should know what level you are and those people are not quarter way up to you. We are the richest and most powerful family ever known. One day the paparazzi will take photos and your stupidity will dent our image." Mom argued.
"You aren't the boss of me mother," I said.
"I am," she said.
"No, you are not. You are just a leech feeding off of dad. Remember you were not rich when dad married you." I stated.
"Tamira!" Dad exclaimed.
Mother stepped forward and slapped me. I held on to my cheek, teary-eyed, and stared back at her.
"Don't you ever speak that way of me? I am your mother and I own you. I don't ever want to see that poor man near you again and that is final." she warned.
"Watch me," I said and went upstairs. I grabbed my handbag and went down the stairs again.
"Where do you think you are going?!" Mom yelled but I ignored her. I stood beside my car and was about to call my driver when something suddenly came up in my mind.
The driver. The driver is the one giving my mother information about me.
I decided to take a cab instead and I told the security guard to open the gate. He did just that and I flagged a cab.
The cab took me to Devon's place. I looked in through his window but there was no one inside, not even his uncle. Just then I received a phone call from one of my friends and I picked up.
"Where are you girl? We are waiting for you in front so we can all go in together." her voice sounded from the other side of the phone. It was a noisy background.
"Hold on just a little. I will be there soon." I said and hung up.
I returned to the cab and directed him to the club I was talking about. I still wondered where Devon and his uncle must have gone to. I paid for the cab and came out of it.
Thankfully, I was already dressed up and ready to go before my mother got on my nerves. If I didn't, then I would have arrived here looking like a mess instead.
"You didn't come with your car?" one of my friends who spotted me approaching them asked.
"No. I preferred to take a cab right now." I replied.
"Another issue with your mom?" she asked.
"Yeah. That same thing about me hanging with people my level." I said to her.
"You know, your mother isn't necessarily wrong." another friend said.
"Who's side are you on? My side or my mother's side? Let's just go in." I said to him, in an angry tone.
"Whatever girl. Just keep it on the low. This place is too dangerous for you to get drunk." she replied to me, knowing my weakness whenever I get angry.
All three of us stepped into the club with me in the middle and we instantly became the center of attention.
"This is way too easy." one friend whispered.
"It's almost tiring." the second said.
"Just pay no attention to them for tonight. I'm buying. Today's fun is a girls' night out. need to mess around with dumb guy's pocket tonight I said and smirked.
We went to the bar and sat there in front of it.
"A bottle of diamond jubilee for the three of us," I said. The bar attendant looked at me in total shock.
"Uh... Miss? That is the most expensive we have here." the bar attendant said.
"You think I don't know how much my alcohol is?" I asked, staring him down angrily.
"Miss, just to be clear, the alcohol you are asking for costs two hundred thousand dollars. Are you sure about it?" the bar attendant asked me and I raised my hand to slap him.
My friend held my hand down. "What is wrong with you Tamira? Just calm down a bit." s,e said.
"If I were you, I'd do as she says and quit it with the questions." the second friend said.
The bar attendant brought out my order and took out three glasses. He filled all three glasses and kept the bottle there for us.
I grabbed my glass and raised it. "Cheers girls," I said.
"Cheers!" the both of them replied in unison. For a while, we sat and just enjoyed the booming music but then two rich-looking men came and offered my friends to dance. They both took the hands of the guys and said they'd be back.
After a while, a good-looking man dressed in a suit that screamed a million dollars came and sat down beside me.
Some minutes passed by and I kept taking glass after glass of alcohol, feeding the anger in me."Isn't that a little too much babe?" the man beside me asked. I ignored him as I gulped down what remained in the glass I was holding. I took the bottle in my hand and the man next to me held my hand."Hey! Let go of me!" I yelled at him and he did just that.I stuck my tongue out at him and he just returned it with a disgusted look. "What you are doing is not lady-like and you can't handle your liquor," he said."You are not the boss of me," I told him."Really? How about I take you home with me. I don't think you can walk home in this condition." the man said and I got on my feet, staggered forth and back a bit then vomited on his suit.He bolted up to his feet and looked down at the mess on his suit. "Do you have any idea how much that costs?!" he yelled at me.I laughed, hiccupped, and emptied my bottle on his shoes. "Stay away from me. All you care about is money." I said. I tried to
Tamira got on her feet and so did I. We both stepped out of my house and went to meet the man."Tamira! How are you?! I hope that brute did not touch you." he exclaimed so dramatically."No Thomas. Devon would never do anything bad to me." Tamira said to him. "Just take me home," she added.Thomas opened the front door so Tamira could seat beside him in the front but instead of going in, Tamira opened the door to the back seat and sat the. Thomas was annoyed by her action but didn't say anything. He shut the door and went round to the driver's seat, giving me a warning look before sitting and closing the door. They drove off and just as they did, I saw my uncle returning. It seemed to me like he was hiding or something.Uncle Francis went inside, completely ignoring me as he passed by and shut the door. At the same time, I spotted Jason approaching. Remembering the assignment I gave him, I also moved forward to meet him."Any information about my uncle? You followed him last night rig
"Sir. I'm afraid we can't do that. Do you have a doctor's permit?" the seller asked me."Since when did I need a doctor's permit to buy poison?" I questioned him."Okay, sir. May I know what the reason for your purchase is?" he asked."I have a rat problem," I said. The seller scanned me from head to toe with his eyes and then he laughed. "Rat problem?" he asked me and laughed some more."You don't even look like you have a home, talk less of it being infested with rats. Tell me, young man, where did you get the money from? Did you steal it?" he asked.Enough was enough for me. I have had it with people looking down on and insulting me just because I was poor. I grabbed the man by his collar and flung him over the counter to the side I was standing. He landed painfully on the floor.Holding on to his shoulder, he groaned and crawled away from me on his butt. "Are you going to sell the poison to me or not?" I asked as I towered over him."I'm going to call the cops that's for sure," he
I watched as his eyes closed up slowly. My uncle was gone now. I flung it aside by the chin. That was the end of that hypocrite in my life. The door opened and I turned to see who it was. Jason walked in and was about to tell me something he suddenly saw my uncle's dead body on the floor and kept mute."This..." Jason said, in a calm voice.Jason walked over to where the body lay. He lifted my uncle's arm and dropped it then did it again and again."Devon! Your ki..." I placed my hand over Jason's mouth and removed it after he got the message I was trying to pass across."You killed your uncle?" he asked, in a whisper."The bastard got what was coming to him," I replied. "I have no regret about what I did," I added."Devon. You could go to prison because of this." Jason warned. I laughed at his words."What is so funny? We are in a dangerous situation right now." Jason panicked."What is funny is the way people react to murder. When a rich man kills a poor man it is somehow considered
The car parked in the middle of the scene and turned out to have carried along with the press as they all came storming out of the car. From the driver's side of the car, a leg stepped out and then the person in question came to view completely."Miss Tamira," Simon said, not expecting to see her at all. And I must admit, even I did not expect to see her here."Officers. This man is innocent." Tamira said, taking off her glasses."I am afraid that's for the law to decide Miss Tamira Wilson." the officer, who seemed in charge, replied Tamira."We are only abiding by the law Miss Tamira," he added."Oh really? Officer if I may ask, when did this so-called murder take place?" Tamira asked."We believe it to be last night," he answered."And how did you find out about it?" Tamira asked."Through a witness." the officer answered. The press made sure to capture every moment of this in pictures and video form."Good. Very good. So can we all see your proof that he is indeed responsible for w
Mrs. Wilson POV:I knocked over the glass table as I lifted it with force with both of my hands. It smashed into pieces and I felt some pieces hit and cut the skin of my legs but I didn't care. The pain was nothing compared to the anger I was feeling. How dare she?! That little bastard! How dare she?! I tried my best to work from the background, to ruin the life of the man who thinks he can stain my image with his presence! But what did my foolish brat of a daughter do?!That's right! She threw me right in the trash! She exposed my name to the press and live to the whole world! My daughter accused me and pointed fingers at me! I will make her pay for this regardless of her being my daughter. She will face my wrath and once I see her stupid face after she returns, I will tear it apart!Right in the middle of my rage, my phone rang.I checked to see who was calling but it was from an unknown number."Hello?" I said as I answered the call."Hello madam. Madam please I need your help." th
I raised my right hand and there was silence. That was how much people respected and feared me. "I will answer your questions but only one at a time," I told the journalists. "Let that one in," I said, pointing at one of the journalists, one that I knew very well. I knew that she would surely help me get out of this scandal one way or the other. My security guards let her pass along with her cameraman as well. "Thank you for this opportunity, Mrs. Wilson," she said. "You are welcome," I replied. "Okay Mrs. Wilson, my first question goes like this. Do you have anything to do with that poor man? I mean, the one who was accused of murder. Do you know him at all?" she asked. "No. I have no idea who he is." I answered. "Thank you, madam. Now I need to know this, if you didn't know that man then how come your driver and your daughter knew him?" she asked me and I burst into tears. "It's a long story," I said as I took out a hankie and wiped my crocodile tears. "I'm sorry Mrs. Wil
"Well. Xavier, it's been a while since I last heard from you and your brother. You two are not plotting against me right?" I asked Xavier."You know we would never do that mother. You always have been and always will be the leader of the mafia." Xavier replied."You and your brother are still next in line as co-bosses. Don't forget that. Speaking of your brother, how is Alex doing?" I asked."Alex is fine. He's busy out somewhere partying. You know there is not much difference between him and Tamira. If only Tamira was not as gullible as our father." Alex said and I laughed."What can I say? I married for the money. Not for love. So tell me, why did you call all of a sudden?" I asked Xavier."Oh right. I almost forgot about that. Mr. Cranston wants to speak with you in person." Xavier answered."Why? Can't you and your brother handle things over there?" I asked him."Of course, we can. You are aware of how capable we both are but then something happened," Xavier said."Well... Alex go
