Preperations 1

Is it really helpful to wake up early in the morning?

Most people don’t like waking up early, and originally, Darius was not an early-morning person either. However, that was not the case for me, and now I am in control of his body. This is changed; it is like we are the same but not the same at the same time.

When I say ‘status’ in my mind, the status windows open in front of me.

Quest (Press to open)

I don’t remember that Darius is good at arithmetic. He is better at things involving memorization and liberal arts. He was not a perfectionist either. That means my traits and talents are merged with his, and we became one soul, one mind. It is like I am neither Darius nor Joshua. I am someone both.

In the first place, I was not a timid person. Yes, I didn’t talk too much, but it was not because I couldn’t talk. It was just that talking with kids was not important to me. Also, this trait [Observer] probably stems from Darius, so this proves that I am both Darius and Joshua at the same time.

It seems this system does not have any consciousness, and this is better for me too. I probably wouldn’t be able to stand the robotic voice in my head talking non-stop. Also, there is a new <Quest> tab here which wasn’t here last night when I checked.

Well, it is empty now, so I guess it is not helpful for me right now.

In the first place, while playing the game, the quests are always related to people, and in order to take a quest from someone, you had to interact with a related NPC first. Right now, this is my reality, so it would be stupid and unreasonable if there were a system generating rewards out of nowhere for my infinite inventory.

Well, no matter how I look at it, I am not a close combat fighter. Neither my skills nor my status meet the requirements of close combat, and it would be stupid to charge blindly at the enemy with these types of skills.

The best option for me is to be a marksman. I can’t be a magician because I don’t have an affinity with any general elements, heck I don’t even know what type of element I have an affinity with.

Joshua learned knife combat style and Kick Box in childhood because his father was an ex-soldier; therefore, at the very least, I am proficient in unarmed combat. Becoming an archer doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

If I remember correctly, there was a formless type of weapon in the legacy of one of the Ancient Masters.

However, it is still impossible for me to acquire it right now. Because it was only an easter-egg in the game, and it was very hard to acquire even with the Percy with all stats at least E-. And since I can’t even compare with Percy right now, it must wait a bit.

I could also use guns, but the concept of guns is still in the development stage. In the first place, because of the existence of the ‘mana,’ there was no need for guns, and even with the guns, the threats that heroes can’t solve wouldn’t be solved by guns as well.

Well, I need to buy some weapons, some armor, and some potions in case my life is in danger.

I also need a map of the terrain because I am planning to become a ranger; terrain analysis is one of the essential skills of rangers.

They should cost at most 1000 Utopis.

Most of the blacksmiths or shops for adventurers are open almost all day. And right now, I am happy with that. Because I just remembered that I had to make my preparations yesterday, it would be foolish if I woke up early and waited for blacksmith shops to open.

I also need an adventurer license because, without it, I wouldn’t be able to go into the wilderness and hunt legally.

With that, I put a hoodie on me and left my house at 6 am. The guild branch is not far away, which is good. There aren’t many people on the street; I guess it is still a bit early for most people. I grabbed a sandwich that was fairly cheap from the street seller. The sandwich was good. I will buy it if I see him again.

I could notice the guild building from a distance because it was well decorated and looked well maintained, different from the buildings surrounding it.

Most of the buildings in this town are old with signs of neglect. However, for adventurer guild building, that is not the case. It seems the manager of this branch is doing his job properly. At the very least, it gives a good impression on people walking.

Aside from that, there are two guards at the front entrance. Well, it would be stupid if they left adventurers to themselves without proper security. Aside from the exterior of this building, it seems the adventurer guild is some sort of center for this town. The closer you get there, the better quality of the buildings.

Well, it is not unexpected, and I don’t expect a good city design from a borderline town, either.

With that, I decided to enter the guild. However, before going in, the guards didn’t let me in immediately.

“Can I ask what the purpose of your visit is, sir?”

“I am here to get my adventurer license.”

“You may go in.”

I am happy that, because of my thin appearance, they didn’t make any trouble for me. It seems the guards here are neither unreasonable nor egoist, nor do they think they are some big shots.

In some cases, while playing as Percy in the game, some guards of random nobles would make trouble for you just because they judged you couldn’t be someone important from your looks.

However, it looks like these guards are not bad, which saves me from some time loss, I guess?

With that, I stepped into the adventurer guild.
