Daniel got up and held Susanne close to himself.
"I cannot be mistaken, Susanne. I'm sure that he is our son." Daniel said.
Susanne pushed Daniel away from herself. "Daniel please stop! Stop messing around with me!" Susanne yelled.
"I'm not. Why the hell would I joke about such a matter as this?!" Daniel retorted.
"Fine! If so, then who is he? What's our son's name and where did you find him?" Susanne questioned Daniel in annoyance.
"Felix. His name is Felix and he was standing next to Lorenzo at the meeting. Where were you? You could have seen him." Daniel said.
"It doesn't matter where I was Daniel. What are you telling me now? Our son is part of a criminal organisation?! No! No one must hear of this! Not even as a rumour." Susanne replied to Daniel.
"What are you saying? We've got a chance to reunite with our son and it seems like you are not interested in knowing him." Daniel said to Susanne.
"Daniel there is no proof. You just made a meaningless assumption and that was it. A birthmark is gotten by many people and many birthmarks look the same. Why can't you understand that?!" Susanne yelled in her frustration.
"So that's what is needed for you to believe me," Daniel said to Susanne.
Susanne looked at Daniel questioningly, "what?" she asked Daniel.
"What else? Proof of course." Daniel answered.
Susanne felt her knees weaken and she had no other choice but to sit before her husband could notice it.
Susanne buried her face in the palms of her hands and sighed deeply. She raised her face to look at Daniel who was still standing.
"Honey. Do I need to remind you that you are the second in command of the spy organisation? For Pete's sake! Why are you so hell-bent on proving to the world that you are the father of a criminal?!" Susanne yelled.
There was a short silence between the couple. Susanne was about to speak but Daniel walked out.
"I don't care what she says. I'm going to find out the truth." Daniel said to himself after stepping out of the house.
Susanne looked through the window and watched as Daniel walked off.
"Oh no no no no. This is not good. Not good at all." Susanne said, moving about and panicking.
"Years have passed. Why now? Why now of all times?! Why?!" Susanne complained and felt her heart racing.
She was scared of something, or someone...
"What should I do now? Daniel cannot find out the truth. Not now, not ever. I'll be screwed if the truth comes out." Susanne said.
Susanne took out her phone and unlocked it. She went into her call log and tapped on the block list.
For minutes, Susanne stared at that number, wondering if she should dial it or not.
*In a far-off city*
Footsteps are heated and repeated multiple times, not by one person but by many people going about their business.
"Hurry up! The boss will soon arrive!" a receptionist announced to the workers in the inner part of the company before rushing back to her original position.
After a minute or two, a man with dark shades on and a suit expensive enough to define his status walked into the company.
"Surprise!" the worker shouted after he walked in.
The man took off his glasses to reveal his different colour eyes. One blue and the other brown.
"Who planned this?" were the first words that came out of his mouth.
A woman, older than he was, came out of the corner she hid.
"Surprise Sultan. Happy birthday." the woman said.
"I hate birthdays. Each one reminds me of how closely I'm getting to..."
"Shh! Sultan. How do you maintain the same rock attitude each year?" the woman asked.
"Get back to work now!" Sultan ordered his employees and they rushed in different directions.
"You are my mother. Why do you keep repeating the same mistake each year?" Sultan replied.
He walked to his office and entered with his mother following behind.
"Come on sultan, at least this one time do something other than work all day." his mother pleaded.
A knock came on Sultan's office door.
"Come in," Sultan said.
A lady wearing a white top and black pencil skirt passed her knees.
"Yes?" Sultan said.
"Good day sir. I'm sorry to disturb but Mrs Lorenzo's presence is needed," she said.
Sultan looked at his mother with a face which spelt out, "good riddance."
"I'll be right back." Mrs Lorenzo said and left Sultan's office with the lady.
Sultan continued with his work from where he left off the other day.
With his phone set on silent, Sultan had to place it on the table just in case any important calls came in.
It did not take long after Sultan did so that his phone screen showed a number calling.
Problem was that the number wasn't saved on his phone.
Sultan ignored the called and resumed his work but each time glanced at the phone it was ringing.
Sultan finally picked up the phone and checked it only to find that the unknown number had called him ten good times.
The number called again and this time, Sultan answered it.
"Hello?" the caller said.
"Who is this and why have you been calling me?" Sultan asked.
"Am... Am I speaking with..." the caller was hardly able to speak, talking less than complete the sentence.
From the voice, Sultan could tell that a female was behind the call.
"Speak up and stop wasn't my time!" Sultan ordered.
"Am I speaking with Sultan?" the woman rushed the question.
"Yes. Now who are you and what do you want?" Sultan asked, impatiently waiting for an answer.
"I am Susanne Daniel. Your father's ex-mistress. The one who got pregnant for him." Susanne said, through the phone.
Hearing her words, Sultan shot up to his feet. Just then, Mrs Lorenzo walks back into the office and sees her son standing.
"What happened?" Mrs Lorenzo asked Sultan.
Ignoring his mother's question, Sultan went ahead to ask Susanne further questions."Why are you calling me? Did my mother not pay you enough for your silence and distance?!" Sultan asked Susanne."That is not the point sir. I mean..." Susanne hesitated. She wasn't sure she had to uncover the truth in Sultan's hearing. However, if Susanne doesn't do it, Sultan and Mrs Lorenzo was sure to find out through another means and that would put her in trouble too because she was paid to kill Felix and not sell him to another."Speak up!" Sultan yelled into the phone.Although Sultan was not in the same room as Susanne, she could feel his anger increasing and it made her feel a terrible kind of tingle in her body."My... Ehem... Sir, he is... He is..." Susanne stammered."Spit it out!" Sultan ordered."He is still alive!" Susanne yelled quickly."Who?" Sultan asked Susanne."My... My son who I was paid to kill. He is still alive and all grown up." Susanne said to Sultan."What?!" Sultan exclai
*At an airport, early the next morning*A lady in a black dress and a hat which she tilted to cover half of her face, accompanied Mrs Richie to the airport."Thank you so much for letting me stay at your place last night. I would have been completely stranded if you hadn't shown up after my husband kicked me out." Mrs Richie said to the mysterious woman. It was difficult for Mrs Richie to trust the woman because the woman's face has been partly or completely hidden since she met her.The only reason Mrs Richie accepted help from her was that there was nothing else she had planned and it was better this way than for her to live on the streets and let people she once showed off her riches, laugh at her.The woman continued walking with Mrs Richie without uttering a word to her. She only wanted to make sure that Mrs Richie made use of the flight ticket to leave. It would only be then that this woman can be calm and rested with just one problem left to focus on.It was Mrs Richie's turn t
"And you better get out of here before I take you to Lorenzo. You know it will not be a good example as the second in command." Felix said.Felix was about to jog away but Daniel drew him back. Before Felix could say anything about it, Daniel took out a pair of scissors and cut off some parts of his hair and sealed it in a small transparent plastic bag."Take mine then. Please do the test yourself since you cannot trust me." Daniel said to Felix.Felix accepted the hair from Daniel and shoved it in his pocket with no intention of doing anything with it.Daniel returned home with a feeling of hope in his heart. Hope that Felix would check and hope that Felix was his son."I thought you had important work to attend to." Susanne's voice brought Daniel out of his thoughts. He looked ahead and saw Susanne standing at the entrance of their home."Uh... Yes. It was cancelled." Daniel replied and walked passed Susanne, into the house.Susanne closed the door and followed him with her phone in
"Look here. I am very busy and can't make it." Christoph replied."And besides, I gave you the information you needed and you saved the senator. What else do you want from me when we owe each other nothing?" Christoph added. The person on the other side of the call went silent and after a while, the call ended."What's wrong with this woman?" Christoph said, staring at his phone in annoyance. *In a dark room*There was just a single bulb on the ceiling. The mysterious lady turned on the lights and took off her mask and ninja-like outfit. What was the need for them when she had no valid reason to meet Christoph?Asking him a direct question would leave traces of her identity behind."After that fight in the senator's mansion and that day when I found out that I have a mutual friend with Christoph... I just had to find out..." she said, almost in a whisper."Who was the masked man I fought and there was a draw between us? And..."The phone of the mysterious lady rang. She had to pause
Felix unlocked his phone and monitored the dot moving from the site he opened. That fit was the thief and he was in one spot. Perhaps on a phone call? Felix was smart enough to bug the thief when he had the chance and now he was going to get to the bottom of it."So, that Daniel thinks he can play games with me? Trying to snatch away the hair sample so he could keep me guessing and wondering. No way I won't be able to catch him red-handed with that thief now." Felix went on the move and tracked down the thief until he approached an alley.According to the site, the thief was in there.Felix stealthily walked towards the alley without drawing attention to himself.Felix peeped first and indeed there was someone there and he was taking a phone call with his back turned to Felix."Yes ma'am. I've done it." the thief said, into the phone.Felix approached slowly from behind and snatched he'd the phone from the thief's hand."What the...! Are you crazy man?!" the thief shouted but fell si
*the next two days*Felix got the two results from the doctor and found that one was a match and the other wasn't. He thought that the man was his father and that the woman was trying to prevent him from knowing but that was not the case. "The first one you brought is a match but the second one isn't related at all." the doctor told Felix. "Are you sure there wasn't a mix-up?" Felix asked the doctor. "There wasn't. I made sure of it." the doctor replied. "Thank you," Felix said to the doctor and exited the hospital. Felix thought that the results would help but it only confused him more. "How come the one the woman sent the thief to put in my pocket was a match but Daniel's wasn't when it was him who claimed to be my father?" Felix thought. "Something fishy is going on here," Felix said. He needed to think thoroughly about this and lay out a plan. He knew that Ana would be best to help him think of a way to untangle this mystery and the faster he figures it out, the better. F
"Unlike you, I scan the competition. Daniel was the one who tried to complain about me on the day that meeting was held. You think I'd just forget about him?" Felix replied Christoph. "I can enter his home today itself, posing as his missing son," Felix said to Lorenzo. "I must say, I am very impressed," Lorenzo said. Felix made eye contact with Sami and then smirked a little just to rub it in his face."I trust you've got everything figured out," Lorenzo said to Felix. "Yes," Felix answered. "Well then if that is the case you two can go. I have chosen Felix for this mission." Lorenzo said, referring to Christoph and Sami. Christoph and Sami left Mr Lorenzo's office, dissatisfied with the outcome of their assignments. A few minutes after meeting with Lorenzo, Sami knew that if he was going to bring Felix down, he needed an ally. Christoph seemed like the perfect choice but Sami just couldn't be too sure. Christoph was one to jump at any opportunity to impress Lorenzo and push
Susanne hesitated. She knew that Sultan was calling to ask about her progress and right now, she wasn't doing well at all. The DNA test was inevitable and so she had to give her hair to make it possible. She couldn't let things in her home get mixed up. All that was left was to kill Felix before he could get too nosey but she knew that it wouldn't be easy. Susanne rushed to answer the call right before it could end. "Hello?" Susanne said, after answering the call. "What took you so long to answer your phone?" Sultan asked Susanne, annoyed. "Well... I..." Susanne began to stammer just like before. Sultan didn't have time for that again and he went straight to the point, "have you killed him?" Sultan asked Susanne. "Almost," Susanne answered. "What do you mean almost?" Sultan asked. "How difficult can it be for you to just get that boy out of the picture?!" Sultan was slowly getting angry and Susanne could feel it herself. "What I mean is that he moved into my house after I r
