Chapter 37

Sara felt less tense and at ease, but still held on tight as she walked through, hand in hand with her right hand wrapped around his arm.

Ares imagined what she might have gone through to be this scared to even walk through an alley with him here.

“Thank you” Sara murmured under her breath, “I'm not a fan of alleyways, I don't have very nice experiences in them, so I just avoid them altogether.” She said, trying to explain, so she didn't look too weak.

“I don't need you to explain yourself, Sara,” Ares said, placing a cold hand on the hand that held his arm. “I understand”

Sara let out a sigh of relief, she was grateful that she was slowly beginning to have people who understood her, like Anna and Ares.

They finally left the alley and Sara breathed a sigh of relief, she knew because she didn't feel the walls around her or the stink from the bins and rubbish.

Ares felt her try to unwrap her hand from around his arm and placed his over hers to stop her.

“Please don't,” he said
