“She's somewhere in the back, she should be here soon,” Hermès said, looking away from him.

As much as it wasn't Ivan's fault, which Hermès was very much aware of, he couldn't help but feel some kind of dislike towards Ivan.

The man had unconsciously, without his knowledge, made Artemis fall in love with him and Hermès had seen the look in her eyes when she said she didn't want him.

She was serious and seemed so sure about it, so much he knew he did not stand a chance against what she felt for Ivan.

As if on cue, Artemis walked in from the back, her eyes searching for them.

Hermès met her gaze and held it for a second, silently pleading with her to see him, to notice him.

But Artemis' gaze let his, traveling to Ivan, whose back was to her, he saw the look of adoration that crossed her eyes and his heart bled even more.

The longing in her eyes was hard to miss, anyone with eyes would see how much she wanted him, anyone but Ivan himself.
