It is impossible for a bad incident to be left alone

"Leader, aren't we supposed to protect the southern district?" Leyana asked, furrowing her brows.

Indeed, they were a division tasked with security, and it was their duty to protect the city from various threats.

"But, do you forget who we are?"

Leyana was shocked by this statement, her expression faltering with pursed lips. "We are G4, tasked with securing against all anomalies," she replied weakly.

"That's right, we are the ones who must carry out the duty of eliminating all threats!"

However, despite all the explanations, Leyana's face remained uneasy. She continued to bow her head, wearied. Her head felt reluctant to lift, slowly feeling a gentle touch.

Her pupils widened suddenly, her eyes showing surprise at what was happening, then she raised her head.

"Eh..."

It was Zeigar's hand, already friendly, reaching out to touch her head.

"You stay here with the others; I entrust the task of protecting this city to you! If I don't return, I hope you'll become the leader of this division!"

Leyana's heart pounded; it wasn't words of encouragement but a farewell that couldn't simply be accepted.

"Leader, don't say that!" Leyana exclaimed, her cheeks continuously furrowing. "I know this is our duty, but you don't need to speak as if there won't be any chance to meet again after this! Promise us that you'll come back...."

Zeigar smiled upon hearing this, his firm demeanor beginning to weaken due to the genuine concern of one of his subordinates.

"Yes, I'll do my best..."

Having said that, Zeigar heard that all members were ready to move to the location.

It was known that currently G4 had 10 members, including 1 leader, Zeigar. 4 members included vehicle operators, while 6 were tasked with guarding the southern district.

They were all prepared for the consequences of this event, but it wasn't unusual; they had done this several times before. Leyana's impression at that moment was exaggerated; she often worried about Zeigar, whom she regarded as an elder sibling.

With Zeigar added, there were now 5 members participating in this movement, waiting in the back carriage.

"Today, we're going hunting!" Zom exclaimed eagerly.

"Yes, I can't wait to hunt them down! How dare they attack the relatively weak southern district!" Ham replied, clapping his hands together.

The other two members chose to remain silent, a woman named Nelia and a young man who had joined just a month ago, Rega.

Zeigar unlike the other members, wasn't enthusiastic. Today, he was more serious. Leyana's words had influenced his thoughts as if they signaled that something bad would happen to him.

"Leader?" Nelia spontaneously asked due to Zeigar's expression looked tense.

Zeigar's face immediately turned. "What?"

"Nothing, I just noticed that you were silent earlier. Is there a problem?"

Zeigar became increasingly reluctant to respond to these words, but currently, all members were looking at him. Their vehicle sped up, the wind blowing fiercely.

"Dohn, how long until we reach the monsters' location?" he asked loudly.

"Well, according to the directions, we'll arrive in less than 40 minutes; their speed seems to have slowed down!"

"Slowed down?" Zeigar glanced to the left with a clear crease in his brow. But, he quickly returned to focus after seeing that, the members of the carriage were still waiting for an answer to his previous question.

He slowly exhaled amidst all this suffocating silence.

"This time, we'll defeat the monsters who have attacked the southern district. I understand that you've faced monsters before, except you, Rega! But don't worry, we're here as a team, and now we'll carry out our duty as security to prevent a disaster like this from coming!"

Everyone nodded with enthusiasm. Zeigar couldn't help but give a proud look; he immediately gave a sharp gaze as a sign of courage.

"I don't understand, why after several months have they never attacked the city, suddenly they attacked the city? Don't you think that's odd?" Ham asked, triggering a brainstorming session among them.

"Yeah, I don't know either! Maybe they got bored with the food in the wild, so they decided to attack where humans reside!" Zom replied.

These two young men had a lot of experience. Besides Zeigar, who was skilled, these two were also highly trained individuals, possessing special skills even before joining G4.

They weren't surprised by this; for over 80 years, the area outside the city had been invaded by brutal monsters. They weren't sure where these creatures came from, but according to historical records, they originated from outer space and then spread a virus that transformed creatures around them into wild monsters.

For some reason, only humans weren't affected by this, and since then, humans have been truly massacred by the wild monsters.

No one knew the current state of the world; all they knew was the immediate surroundings. It seemed the area around the city was barren with no inhabitants, but not far from there was a dense forest.

Currently, the monsters they were chasing were in that forest. If they entered the forest, it would be difficult to find them, and there was even a possibility that other wild monsters would emerge, which would be a bad scenario.

Cliing...

The alarm began to turn the carriage lights red, indicating that their vehicle was nearing the monster's location.

"What's going on?" Zeigar asked.

"The monsters chasing us, they suddenly stopped, then turned around. It seems they've noticed our presence and are now heading towards us..." Dohn explained, panicked.

All members immediately put on serious faces. They who had intended to hunt down the monsters were now being hunted instead.

"Alright..." Zeigar immediately raised his voice. "Let's do our duty as security members; let's make those monsters understand who we really are!"

He easily dispelled the tension in their hearts, and all members immediately prepared to fight.

Dohn quickly changed the route northward, intending to lure the monsters; if they went directly to the monsters, they wouldn't stand a chance.

All members in the carriage began to put on equipment, combat suits that detected who wore them. This would enhance their strength; even ordinary people wearing them would become stronger than usual, and if used by skilled individuals, they would be more dangerous.

But all of that was just to support the actual equipment. They wore special equipment wrapped in hard steel like robots.

"They're getting close; they'll reach this vehicle soon!" Dohn warned.

"Open the carriage..." Zeigar commanded.

And it was immediately obeyed; slowly, the carriage door began to open wide.

"Groagh..."
