This Problem Looks Difficult To Distinguish Easily

This situation truly challenges Zeigar and his comrades; they must quickly resolve this problem.

However, it's not as easy as that. Indeed, Dohn has started moving towards their location, but it still takes time. On the other side, the monster is already hastening its steps, leaving them with no time left.

"True..." An idea flashed in Zeigar's mind; immediately, he checked the condition of each member. It appeared that Rega was in a difficult situation, surrounded by monsters.

"Rega..." Zeigar shouted, making Rega turn his head in surprise.

"Uh..."

"Use Flare to blind all the monsters here temporarily."

"But..." A situation like this wouldn't be easy to handle, especially for a beginner like him. Even moving his hands were trembling, and here he was instructed to use Flare.

Flare is a special ability of the device owned by Rega. When used, it emits a bright light that can blind eyes for a while. Moreover, this effect can also affect those around them.

"We're out of time. If we don't act now, we'll all die here!"

Startled by the situation, Rega had no choice but to comply with Zeigar's request. He tried to activate the system to emit the bright light, instantly dazzling the eyes.

However, they couldn't keep it up for long. The rumbling sound of the monster's footsteps was getting closer.

The monsters around Rega continued their attacks; luckily, he could still evade, although it wouldn't last forever.

Ham and Zom continued to hold on, but their prime condition wouldn't last long. The tough monsters and their overwhelming numbers forced them to keep fighting.

"Why are these monsters so tough? If it's like this, I shouldn't have joined this operation..." Zom complained to Ham.

Both of them kept their distance from the monsters, finally positioning themselves back to back.

"Hehehe... are you going to give up just because of this?" Ham teased with a shaky smile.

"Don't joke around. Do you think I'd surrender to these ugly monsters?"

Their conversation ended, replaced by bitter smiles. Suddenly, monsters from the front began to move, their vicious bites and brutal actions imminent.

Shiissh...

A hissing sound from above made them look up; upon seeing the bright light, the area was immediately filled with a brilliant glow.

"That's Flare!" Dohn saw the light, speeding up the vehicle. He wouldn't let his comrades' efforts go to waste.

"Good, with this, the monsters will be disoriented."

Indeed, the monsters around, seeing the light, stumbled, unable to see anything clearly. All their vision became blurry.

"Damn, what's happening? Why didn't you tell us to throw Flare..." Zom shouted, turning to where Rega wasn't even there.

"Sorry, I just..." Rega hadn't finished his sentence when he was startled by the monsters still moving towards them. "What's wrong with that monster? Why doesn't it stop even though I've thrown Flare?"

Zeigar, who happened to be using an anti-glare device, shivered with every step the monster took; his body became difficult to control.

"Even the bright Flare light doesn't stop it..." Zeigar muttered to himself. Then he glanced at Rega, who was still lost in thought.

Sooner or later, their lives wouldn't be saved. Surviving the battle against these monsters felt impossible.

"Everyone..." Zeigar didn't want to make what was in his mind a bitter reality.

His shout made everyone look up, listening carefully.

"You all go to the moving combat vehicle now! We can't die here. I'll hold these monsters off!"

"What, don't joke, Leader, why are you being so reckless? We should all finish this together!" Zom protested, looking back at Zeigar, even though that was the wrong direction.

Their vision slowly returned, affecting the monsters as well. If the monsters regained sight, their situation would worsen.

"We have no time left!" Zeigar replied. "Rega..."

"Yes..." Rega replied, surprised.

"How many more Flares do you have?"

"I still have two more..."

"In that case, give me one Flare, and use the left one to distract these monsters if they chase the combat vehicle..."

"But..." Doubt was clearly written on Rega's face. Making a decision like this wasn't easy for him, but it was also impossible for him to oppose what Zeigar said.

"Groagh..."

The monsters were regaining consciousness; they had to act fast. On the other side, the combat vehicle was almost there. They would meet soon, but if the vehicle slowed down, the monsters would catch up, so they had to move away quickly.

A wild dog-shaped monster leaped towards Rega; fear filled Rega's body, its teeth were sharp and would tear through flesh and skin.

Crash...

Blood soaked Rega's body, but it wasn't his blood; it was the monster's body, drenched in blood.

"Leader.." Rega said, his face shocked.

He had just been watching Zeigar there, but suddenly he was there. He didn't realize that making a decision in doubt had consumed their time.

Other monsters tried to attack Zeigar, but he could hold them off and retaliate easily.

Unlike Rega, who struggled against these monsters, Zeigar could easily defeat them. Besides, Zeigar had faced creatures like these too often.

"Rega, I want to tell you! Use Flare to escape, and when I give the signal, throw Flare immediately..."

Rega straightened up, still pondering over the words. The sharp gaze from Zeigar made him unable to argue anymore.

"Everyone, get ready to flee! We're leaving here! I'll activate combat mode..."

Their eyebrows raised; the mode referred to the special ability of the suits they wore, but it was still in the developmental stage. The last time they used it resulted in fatal damage, even death.

"Leader, are you sure you want to do this?" Ham asked, surprised.

"Yes, we have no other choice! Ham and Zom, both of you, get ready..."

The sound of the combat vehicle was getting closer. Zom and Ham didn't comment further; their serious nods were enough to indicate their readiness.

With that, Zeigar shouted loudly, "Now..."

Rega threw Flare ahead, right towards the ferocious monster currently hastening its steps.

Shisssh...

The Flare whizzed with a light akin to the morning sun rising.

Ham, Zom, and Rega hurriedly stepped towards the combat vehicle. Dohn, seeing their silhouettes, slowed down the vehicle.

Crash...

From a distance, they watched the fast-moving blue silhouette, cutting down every monster. It was the special ability of the combat suits they wore, but it would take a long time before the existing technology could fully utilize it.
