WHISPERS OF TWILIGHT CHAPTER 4: DIMENSIONAL CHANNELS

Auris wears a twisted smile, softly whispers. "Calista, soon you will cry and beg before me,"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Solaries speaks in a serious tone, "Father, at the banquet, I overheard some clan members talking about the dimensional channel opening tonight."

Raven abruptly stops laughing.

Solaries continues, "Father, you mentioned you would tell us about the dimensional channel when the time comes. Is it now?"

Raven, noticing the anxiety in Solaries' eyes, sighs and remarks, "Why do people have to discuss such important matters in a place like that?"

He sits on his chair and turns it towards the window, fixing his gaze on the clouds outside. Raven begins, "Dimensional channels... Their appearance and origins are unknown, but they provide us with a connection to another realm called Nirvana. These channels only open once every thousand years, visible for a single night. If left unmarked, they vanish the following night. Our ancestors were fortunate enough to discover one of these channels and find their way to the realm of Nirvana. Throughout thousands of years, we have only managed to discover five of these channels. Two are under our ownership, one is in Superbia, and the other two are in NIGHTNOVA."

Solaries and Auris listen attentively. Auris asks, "Father, what do you mean by marking?"

Raven explains the concept of marking the dimensional channels, his tone filled with authority. "The first person from a clan to enter a channel becomes its owner, recognized and acknowledged by the channel itself..."

Auris ponders, "So, it's a first-come, first-serve basis."

Raven turns his chair back towards them and confirms, "you could say that. Tonight marks the completion of a thousand years, and the dimensional channel is going to open after midnight. However, nobody knows where it will appear. Each clan will send all its members to try and mark it with their clan name. It will be a battle among all the clans."

Solaries eagerly asks, "Father, what do these dimensional channels look like? Do they resemble black holes that blink with red light?"

Raven responds, "They do have a similar appearance, but before being marked, they emit a blue light."

Solaries nods in understanding. He turns to Auries, and both of them bow solemnly towards their Father. In unison, they assure him, "Don't worry, Father. We will surely emerge victorious in this battle."

Raven, in an authoritative tone, replies, "Go, both of you, and win for the glory of our clan."

Solaries and Auris respond, "Yes, Father," and both leave the room.

Raven concludes his conversation with Solaries and Auris, his gaze shifting to Sinistra, who is crushing the remnants of a broken flower vase beneath her foot. The abrupt change in atmosphere catches his attention, and he inquires, "My dear daughter, what are you doing?"

Sinistra's tone grows darker as she replies, "I am merely observing, Father, the other choices that this flower and vase possess, other than being trampled under my foot."

Raven doesn't fully comprehend the meaning behind her words and silently turns his gaze back to the window.

A knock resounds on Solaries' door. He calls out, "Who is it?"

Auries' voice comes from the other side, "Brother, it's me, Auries."

Solaries gestures for him to enter, and as Auries steps inside, Solaries asks, "Have you prepared your things?"

Auries nods anxiously, his voice filled with ammusement, "Brother, about the battle, the NIGHTNOVA clan will also be participating."

Solaries instantly understands Auries' unspoken question and replies firmly, "No."

Auries, filled with curiosity, raises an eyebrow. "Brother, why is the NIGHTNOVA clan not participating in the battle? I thought the dimensional channels held significant influence over all clans."

Solaries pauses for a moment, his expression grave. "The NIGHTNOVA clan made a declaration after marking the last dimensional channel. They decided to separate themselves from the battle."

Solaries places his hand on Auries' head, his gaze serious and unwavering. "Auries, stop thinking about that girl. She is already engaged and will soon be married. If you do anything to her, the NIGHTNOVA clan will be enraged. Do you want to suffer the consequences of provoking them?"

Fear evident in his voice, Auries assures, "Brother, don't worry. I will not cross any boundaries."

Solaries fixes his eyes on him and warns, "You better remember your words." He removes his hand from Auries' head and returns to preparing his belongings.

Auries gathers the courage to speak again. "Brother, you mentioned that we should not confront them, but the last time I saw the head of the NIGHTNOVA clan with father, he displayed great respect towards him. We hold higher status."

Solaries continues packing his bag while explaining, "It's true that we have a higher status, but their status and strength are not to be underestimated. In the present time, it is wise to avoid unnecessary battles." He fixes his gaze on Auries. "Do you understand? I don't want to get involved in pointless troubles."

Auries, now even more apprehensive, replies in a fearful tone, "Yes, brother."

Auries reflects to himself, "Brother can be just as intimidating as Father when he's in a bad mood."

Suddenly, the ground begins to tremble, shaking the room, a sense of urgency filled the air.

Solaries, his voice carrying a serious tone, declared, "It's open. Midnight has passed. Auries, let's go."

Auries, filled with confidence, responded, "Yes, brother."
