Chapter 13

Her once cute, deep blue eyes were replaced with the fiery looks of a monster that had just detected a vulnerable prey.

Her red lips gloss shot at Jim, driven with disdain and irritation as her eyes ran through Jim from his head to his toe.

"This is the pathetic excuse of a human being that dared spill coffee all over my body?" She bottled up and sneered at Jim who's eyes instantly lifted at her rude statement.

"Excuse me?" Jim returned with furrowed brows.

If there was anything, it was her who was wrong bumping into him.

"If you had looked properly... Then none of us would have been in this situation!" Jim flagged back utterly disgusted at such a mannerless attitude.

She flagged her bags, as Jim's audacity made her even more furious.

"And so what if I was wrong? Couldn't you be more careful?" Her voice was laced with disdain and irritation.

"Do you know how much my bag cost? My clothes that you just got dirty? Do you know how much they are worth?

No, you can, but I will tell you, these are worth more than your entire life. And I am going to make sure that you pay for soiling them!" She scowled, revealing the looks of a spoiled rich girl.

Jim, having seen a lot of arrogant people, was awe-struck by her lack of manners. It by far surpassed anything that he had seen before. Especially for someone who acknowledges that they are wrong.

He could feel the bitter sensation squeezing down his throat.

"Do your worst!" Resorted Jim, already walking away. He was already tired for the day and such an attitude was the last thing he would be putting up with.

The rich girl stared for a while. The rage gushed through her body and her knuckles cracked at her attempts to tighten it into a ball but she didn't care.

"Security! Security! Get here right this minute!" She growled.

The security came to her distress call with a flash, shivering at her sight.

"Is there a problem Miss. Grande?" They inquired.

"A problem? Are you so blind that you can't see my soiled clothes? Or do you think that this isn't a problem?" She scowled, the vines popping all over her neck.

They were startled. Who could have done that to the daughter of the Grimier family? They shivered at the sight, sweat forming on their faces.

"Who.. who did this to you, Miss. Grande. Just say the word and we are going to get them punished right away!"

"The both of you are worthless. That's him. Walking away!" They said,

They could already see Jim walking away from afar. However, they were afraid for a while. Unable to decide to forge ahead.

The people that mostly visited the hotel were very powerful and had all sorts of connections.

What if Miss. Grande was sending them off to meet with their death. What if this person was also powerful?

They were going to be crushed right in the middle of the dispute. And both of them would most likely leave the place without the slightest scratch to their skin.

Miss. Grande's face squeezed into a screech. All the hair on her body stood like she had been struck by a lightning bolt. The sight of them still standing there provoked her to yell.

"Tell me I'm seeing two ghosts here! Or would I need to call the boss of this place!"

They shivered, taking the terrible decision that could ruin their lives. Apologizing, they quickly went for Jim, throwing frowns at him immediately after their eyes laid on him.

Surveying the ordinary look, they felt the bitter taste of hate down their throat. "This was the bitch that we were afraid of!" They almost broke a slap on his face, but they were able to control themselves.

"Can I help you with anything? I see that both of you have been standing here for quite a while... Without saying anything." Jim was forced to inquire, just seeing two men standing right before him.

"So I presume..."

"Yes! There's a lot that you can help us with!" Replied the guard with unfriendly demeanors.

"Go ahead! I'm all ears" He replied strongly and firmly, pretending not to notice their unfriendly advances.

Their irritation for Jim heightened to its peak. Expressed by the deep lines that farrowed all over their faces and their clenched hands.

"You dare to hurt Miss. Grande and act as though you have done nothing? Have you always had a death wish?" They sneered.

"Oh! That's her name! Well, sorry to burst your bubbles but she's the one at fault and should be apologizing to me instead."

The words ran through their body with a sudden wave of pain and utter shock. Their mouths split open and their eyes bulged out from their sockets.

"Miss Grande! Apologize to you?" They were both stunned. The words didn't sound like something that should even be known to the ears.

Seeing how Jim was looking like someone that just escaped from prison, they could only assume that he was mad.

"Mavis? Mavis?" They yelled out a name.

Together with the guard that had attended to Jim earlier at the gate, Grande stepped forward with her head high up in the high with outer pride.

"How could you let someone that escaped out of the asylum into this place?" They shot questioning glares at the gate guard that had just arrived.

"So you are the one? That let this pathetic excuse into this place?" She sneered.

Jim remained calm while interlocking his gaze, the Mavis' staying shocked. He was sure that he had seen the reservation clearly and it could not be a mistake.

"I think that you both are making a terrible mistake here! He has a reservation!" He could barely be allowed to finish off with his statement before he was sliced off by Grande.

"Reservation? Just one glance at him and you could even dare to imagine that was a real reservation that he has shown you? I'm beyond disappointed!"

Mavis was still confused. He had his doubts initially and had done a proper check on the reservation to be confident enough that it was genuine.

Jim after everything that he had to go through that day wasn't in for another drama. Sighting a waiting chair close by, he made for it and sat.

"Sorry! A little tired here! So what was it again?" Jim inquired.

Their eyes glazed with shock that ran through their vines. The view before them was unbelievable.

Miss. Grande shuddered like she had never done before. She was about to let out an outburst but was soon interrupted by her cell phone.

Taking the call, her gaze bore at them but could not properly hide the distressed looks on her face.

"Thank your stars that I have to leave!" She sneered at Jim.

"And to the both of you! Though I would be leaving this case to you, don't think that I will not be following it properly!

Any sort of mishaps... I shouldn't inform you what my family can do to you!"

"We will make sure that he is properly taking care of Miss. Grande!" They bowed.

With a scoff, Miss Grande walked away from the place.

Jim glanced at the space that she had created before.

'How could someone so beautiful looking be this arrogant!' The thoughts flourished in his head when he heard another beep.

He hoped that it was his cell phone or something. However, with the system Hologram appearing before him, he knew that his fears were just about right.
