Chapter 12

It was already late and Jim needed to rest his head somewhere. He sipped in a deep breath. After all the hustle of his system, he could feel that he was somewhat out of breath.

And would somewhat pass out if he didn't find this place as soon as possible

Two options were left for him. Returning to the twin or going back to the hostel. Either option would mean waking his counterparts in the dead of the night.

And the fact that he was going to get a cab too meant that he would be waiting another two to three hours on the street. Not something that he would imagine himself doing at this time.

Not something that was embedded in his nature. And he had money to spend too. How about getting himself a nice place to sleep for the night?

{ New task loading }

{ Form a new powerful alliance before the end of tomorrow }

{ Task reward <> Additional Fifty points and 10 golden tickets }

{ Task punishment <> Deduction of Fifty available points }

The wave of new tasks that Jim received came as a sudden shock. He never expected that he was going to get a new task in the dead of the night.

"Jeez.. Won't I get some atom of rest!" He growled another his breath.

{ Your countdown starts now! } The next message from Jim's system looked like the reply that he had gotten.

'Just great!'

How was he going to get a new alliance by this time of the night? He had already gotten through one difficult task.

Taking a look at the partner of the task, it looked like the difficulty of each increased with each one that he had met. It was each divided into three sub-parts.

His breath tightened in his lungs. He just started. If he thought that these were unbearable for him already. Then in the few years to come.

Jim would not even dare to begin to imagine.

The system tagged it as a mini task, what more task was to come? His thoughts seemed to be answered once again by the sudden ding from his system.

{ Major Task loading complete }

{ Host must rank top 100 on the most influential board of the city before the end of the week }

{ Task reward <> ???? }

{ Punishment for failed task <> ??? }

Just great. Like the one that he had gotten wasn't enough bad news already. The influential board was made up of the most powerful people in the city.

And he wasn't even ranked among the top one thousand as it had been rumored to consist of. How was he going to rank hundred?

That wasn't even a possibility to Jim. But trying to think of it, he could easily assume that his head was going to blow up.

"I'm going to have one good night! Clear my head and come back here by tomorrow!" Jim assured himself.

He had searched for the best residential hotels with restaurants that were around the place. Apart from the meal that he had earlier that day, he had not had anyone and would appreciate not spending his 'special night on an empty stomach.'

And the rumbling of his stomach once again was enough evidence that he needed to eat.

Jim, having made his search, finally laid his eyes on the guitar five-star hotel. A hotel that was enough to freak almost everyone in his college.

Even wealthy people like Jaden didn't have enough allowance just to spend in a hotel like this.

The least reservation that was offered was over a hundred dollars. A night here and they were going to go broke. If not even running into debts.

However, thanks to his system, Jim's money could never run dry. The traffic online was almost terrible.

However, Jim was finally able to book a room and a reservation for the place too. The VIP one that had not been booked in years, coating all of his money.

He got a hotel and was soon at the place.

The high structure of the finely glazed hotel stole the breath out of Jim's lungs. The stylish structure of the constructive guitar seemed to play musical tunes that made his heart flutter.

It was one thing to hear rumors and it was another thing for him to have a sight of it. From the way that people like Jaden described it and the rest of his counterparts, it was quite evident that they had not been to this part of the city before.

With a final stare, Jim braised himself up, stepping forward to the gates. A VIP space had cost him about four hundred thousand dollars.

The guard at the entrance shot a questioning stare at him. His stance waved while he fought hard to maintain his professionalism.

"Is there anything that I can help you with sir!" Inquired the Guard.

From statistics and by nature. The set of people that came to the hotel were people of high end and with a lot of strings.

And the slightest glance at Jim showed that he didn't give any of that.

There was a strange urge in his stomach. But he didn't dare to put forward his discomfort while letting out a forced awkward, slightly scary smile.

"Oh! I booked a reservation a few hours ago. And would be spending the night here if, of course, there's no problem with that!" Returned Jim.

The words ran through the skin of the guard as cold chills caused goosebumps all over. Could it be that this person had made a mistake?

He stared at Jim once again, wanting to reassure himself but there was nothing to be reassured of there.

"Certainly no problem si....r Can I see the reservation card?" The guard went forward to inquire.

And when Jim produced one with his details and pictures, his heart froze. Because Jim had not just chosen any reservation, it was the VIP room.

The revelation struck him like a stab right through the heart, his legs almost wobbling like jelly as he stared at Jim still awe-struck.

He had heard stories of Billionaires who tried to hide their identity. And until now, he had not seen one.

That could only mean that Jim was very powerful, pulling strings in the city.

'What if I had offended him!' Thought the guard, grateful that he had followed through with his training.

"Welcome to Musical Hotel, sir. We are more than glad to host you, he smiled. If you have any issues, don't hesitate to contact the email service. And your problem would be attended to like it never existed!" His smile this time was genuine.

But in his heart, he was still afraid that this person might have seen the way that his eyes were conflicted earlier.

'What if he decides to act on that? You can't ever predict the behaviors of these influential people.'

"Sure! Thank you!" Jim appreciated, returning his smile before walking away.

While he walked, a girl who seemed disoriented walking speedily raced towards Jim's direction.

Though he tried switching, her walk for Jim to have preventedthe accident from happening. Bumping into Jim and the coffee that Jim held in his hands spilled all over her shirt.
