Chapter 3

With the pain still stalk up in his heart, and his eyes almost clouded by his emotions, Jim could barely register the words that were just spoken. What he couldn't believe more was the fact that Karen stood there and watched these people humiliate him.

"Kneel you piece of scum! And I might just be grateful enough to let you walk on one foot!" Jaden's words came once again. This time, more furiously.

Jim's eyes interlocked into theirs, his hands clutched tightly as he spat right on Jaden's face.

"Kneel? Guess you are the one who's more delusional here!" Jim re-sorted, attempting to walk away.

Shockwave ran through the crowd, finding Jim's action unbelievable, their lips far apart with shocks, and their hands high over their lips.

Beforehand, Jim was ready to do anything for Karen. Do all her dirty work or even kneel before her even though he didn't know his offenses.

But right now, it was all over. All he could do was think of how much of a fool he has been all these years. Loving a dog.

The crowd ran dry with words. Their throat was itchy but no one would dare to speak. Jaden wasn't just powerful because his family had money, he was the heir of one of the most powerful families in the city. The Keys family.

Apart from that, his family held one of the highest positions at Ravers University. No one had ever dared to talk back to him. Let alone spit on his face.

"Chicken Jim! How dare you? Where did you get the guts to do that?" Karen vibrated, lodging words at Jim who simply Ignored her.

Jaden's life flashed right before him in a split second as he touched his face to clean out the mess.

His face had gone from white to a red ball of pepper as the rage coursed under his feet.

"You are going to beg me! Beg me to take your life for doing that." The words came with a blazing growl.

With just a simple call, a gang of thugs owned by the Keys family called the Serpents hadalready gathered around.

The sight of them sent cold shivers down the spine of everyone, some were already making their way out of the arena to save themselves from the trouble.

And those that remained didn't dare to bring out their cell phones from their pockets out of fright.

"Is he the one?" One of the gang members, having seen Jim by the way, held him by the collar of his shirt at Jaden's face.

"I knew it right from the very beginning! It's over for the bitch!" Noted a girl that was standing right next to the crowd.

Her face twisted with disgust at the thought that they had to have poor children in their schools anyway.

"At least we're going to have one less bitch in school!" She noted.

Jaden, with a cruel twist to his face, spat on Jim's face multiple times, slapping him on the face until his lips bled.

"You thought you could get away with your crime, didn't you? Too bad even if you were to hide under the sea! Or under the miserable stink of poverty, I'm still going to find you there!"

However, the beating, and the aching pain in his face that ran throughout every vine in his body, Jim still let out a painful and a burst of sorrow-filled laughter.

"I told you all! He is gone mad already and there's nothing anyone's going to say to me that would change that!"

"Maybe you think You're powerful Jaden! But without your family wealth, you know you're just one empty miserable Jaden!

And one day, I am going to remind you of these words. And my instincts which can never be wrong tell me that this day is already upon us." Jim smiled even in his pain.

With the words cutting deep right through Jaden's heart, all the veins in his body tightened, Popping out from every region possible as green fine lines.

"Remind me of those words in hell!" Jaden lodged kicks, slaps, and blows at every part of Jim's body.

His eyes darkened, his ears bleeding and his face had turned miserable.

"I'm going to make sure that I end you here today. At least then, we are not going to put up with a miserable you in this college anymore."

"You know you can't do that Jaden. Even if you're rich, I'm protected by the school's stakeholders who have placed me under the scholarship program. They are going to find you and serve you justice. You will lose everything Jaden!"

"Justice?" Jaden couldn't help but laugh out loud, his evil laughter ripping through the thick veil of the night sky.

"Is that the delusion that had been going on in the poor head of yours? Too bad let me tell you the truth!" Jaden drew forward until Jim could feel his hot ruthless breath.

"The schools don't care about you! They are just using you... The poor boy that was given a scholarship to promote their image."

"You think you would be given a good job after college? Do you think that members of the high class would want to fight with some poor scumbag? Too bad Jim, you were never even supposed to get a certificate.

Everything that the Chancellor told you... Too bad, they were lies!"

All of Jim's life flashed before his eyes in a few seconds. There was no way that could be possible. Jaden was just trying to break him and nothing more.

"Oh! That should mean that I'm lying right? Just think about all those that ended with scholarships from here! They are either mentally unstable or wrapped up in some scandals!"

The words pierced right through Jim's heart. The revelation that the future he was trying hard to fight for didn't even exist made his legs fall to the bottom of his feet.

Making a difference for his children, so that they wouldn't have to go through the same suffering that he did.

"Now, back to what I was doing!"

Jaden kicked him hard to his stomach making him spit out blood from his mouth.

"Now you know, you can never be nothing like us!"

The gang joined in as commanded by Jaden. Jim's pain increased until he could barely feel most parts of his body.

His heart quickened, as he thought about all the lies that he had been told. His girlfriend, his future, the stupid scholarship. His life had been built on a foundation of lies.

"I think that he is going to die!" One of the youngest recruits of the gang said with the fright of a little child.

"So what! We would be doing the world a favor by sending him back to that pit hole called hell that he shouldn't have escaped in the first place." Karen laughed.

"That's why I love you!" Karen and Jaden kissed once again before Jaden turned around towards them and shot.

"Kill him! Make it look like a fight or something! I can bet you know what to do!" He ended up walking away.

Jim's hatred for the high class ran to its peak, every part of his body tightened as the life that remained gradually sucked out of him.

"I only wanted a good normal life with a family that I can call my own. But they took that away from me. In their so-called first-class agenda."

And the last crush on his head ended him...

Until a bright blinding light shined right before Jim. And his thoughts were clouded with the possibility that he wasn't dead yet.
