Chapter 2

Mrs. Red's hands tightened into a blow and her blood was clotted with the rage that coursed throughout her body.

"Is this another way of telling me that you are tired of your job?

You know how much you need this job! I'm going to turn around for the last time and if I don't see you, then I never want to see you again!" She glared.

However before she could even get to turn, Jim re-sorted.

"I'm afraid I can't come regardless!" Jim held on firmly to his stance.

Miss Red's face burned red with fury. Her jaws tightened as her eyes blazed into that of Jim and with hushed breaths, she cursed

"Good luck getting a new job you pig!" She scowled, stomping her foot away.

Jim sat, his face running over with sweat watching her walk away. He wanted to run towards her and beg her to take him back.

However, that wasn't a possibility. He also had to be there for his Karen. Jim inhaled deeply.

"I can always find another job, but opportunities to propose to the love of my life don't come every day!" He smiled warmly, his eyes filled with reassurance, as he waited anxiously for Karen to show up.

An hour, two hours, and three, Jim waited. However, Karen was nowhere. His heart suddenly burned with worries, confusion laced his face.

Though he tried calling, her contacts were switched off.

"We are closing!" Words from the worker there snapped him off from his thoughts.

After paying his last dime for the overdue, Jim walked pitifully into the street while still trying to contact Karen.

He lost his job and his chances to propose. But that didn't worry him as much as Karen's safety.

'Could something bad have happened to her on her way here? I am never going to forgive myself if Karen gets hurt because of me!"

The thick veil of the night was already drawing a close on them and the school's curfew, mainly imposed on poor students who didn't have money to bribe the patrolling officers, was just around the corner.

He needed to be in his Dorm, now or never. But with Karen's safety still on the line, he didn't think twice before taking the opposite direction that led to her Dorm.

The night was clear and bright, with meteors dominating the sky. It was the reason that he picked today. It would have been just perfect.

His thoughts were interrupted by clamors on the street. A crowd of students tearing their lungs out in screams.

Jim's curiosity had risen to an unbearable height. But with the thoughts of Karen dominating his mind, he acted indifferent, his personality seeming to want to tear him apart

The crowd scowled with disgust at the sight. Their hateful words lodged at him but he ignored them all, cutting edge through the crowd.

"Please excuse me! Excuse please!" It was a very hard journey trying to cut through.

But the crowd grew thinner at the center and Jim could now walk properly.

He could see a figure with the night glow kneeling before a boy with a wedding ring in her hand.

Jim couldn't help but smile upon hearing these words. That was just how powerful love could be, making people make decisions that they never thought they would be able to make.

"Please marry Jaden! I can't wait to bear your children! And be the woman by your side!" The voice was laced with passion, emotions flooding through the crowd with loud yells.

"Say yes! Say yes!" The screams were barely registered in Jim's head as he froze.

His blood ran cold and the chills of Karen's voice proposing to someone else created goosebumps all over his vines and his heart was squeezed against his chest.

'It isn't true!' The words felt like a low blow down his guts that he could barely breathe.

"It can't be!" Jim shook his head.

Maybe it was someone that sounded like her. Quickly Jim pushed forward, his heart beating and his mind racing.

However, the sight of Karen begging a man, Jaden, the east campus renowned playboy of all men, to accept her was a stab right through his heart, and his world crumbled right before him.

Because the foundation that it had been built on was nothing other than a lie.

"How can I not accept the most beautiful princess on campus!" Jaden replied so casually raising her from the floor.

Their bodies were entangled in a warm embrace. A position that even after seven years he had never been in before. In the name of keeping the sacredness for their wedding night.

Jim could hear the blood flowing through his vines at the moment, seeing Jaden's hands go straight to her boobs.

The ladies cried. The Billionaire playboy that they would all die for had been taken on by someone else.

In the splits of seconds, his world flashed right before his eyes and quickly, he raced forward, arched with the pain that was stuck in his heart.

"Karen!" Jim's yell tore through the silence of the night. His breath was as heavy as bricks, and his words forced the attention of everyone in the streets.

"And who are you? Not like I don't know the legendary Pokemon but what would you be doing amongst the gathering of human beings?" Jaden's brows were arched with a farrow.

However, he was duly ignored by Jim who had all his attention focused on Karen, his eyes laced with pain as he said.

"I can only assume that you have some sort of explanation. A joke maybe that I would rather not find funny?" He pushed forward as his stare bore right through Karen's eyes.

Karen stared right into his eyeballs, her looks were indifferent, and the smirk on her lips was thick and vicious.

"Do you have a problem with my undying love accepting me?" She kissed Jaden, deep and passionate.

Her acts a low blow down his guts that he could barely breathe.

It was difficult for Jim to believe that this was the same Karen that had told him. "I have known no other man apart from you!"

Yet she gave the perfect kiss that was enough to put even a dead man in the mood. Where did she get that from? A lot of p**n or a lot of practice.

"Undying love?" Jim scoffed.

"Did you hit your head so hard on the wall to forget you have a boyfriend? And we were supposed to have dinner tonight!"

"Dinner? Like he could even afford a meal!"

"Such a delusional creature!" The crowd scoffed and mocked.

"Having dinner with a dog? Maybe you are the one who we should be checking for some brain injuries!"

"You told me that you loved me, Karen! How could you be doing this? If you were so tired of our relationship, why didn't you just inform me respectfully?"

"Because there has never been a ship scumbag. You have just been a pervert lurking because I helped you once! And now you think that you can just do what, take me as your new bride? You waited all these years for what exactly? A man who has no balls to take his woman. Did you believe the wait till wedding night bullshit? Wake up!"

Karen struck a knife right through Jim's heart. A pervert, that was so much that he had been reduced to.

The same girl that he had rolled off from the mud years back. His life with her flashed before him. All those moments that he thought were happy. Karen was so quick to deny that they ever existed.

Just a peak in her eyes and he could tell that there was nothing like love. No wonder she had been so distant, demanding things that she wouldn't since they got into Ravers University.

"Have there been a feeling for me in that heart of yours?" Inquired Jim, a flirt of emotions running through him.

"Sorry to burst your bubbles. But Jaden here is the only man that I have known!"

With that, Jim knew that he had lost. "Right!" The words that came from his mouth were below a whisper as he turned around ready to leave her with the shattered pieces of his heart.

However, he was intercepted swiftly by Jaden who scowled and said.

“Apologize!”

"Apologize?" Jim replied with his brows arched in a questioning manner.

"You heard that. And now! You are going to kneel. Kneel and apologize for disrupting our party!" Jaden motioned with a sneer.
