Chapter 4 : Deep Down

When his name was called, Raphael stepped slowly from the ranks of the remaining youths, he looked around and noticed the Dungeon gate and felt that he was getting goosebumps as he was about to step foot into the Dungeon gate that had been opened.

While gulping down his spit roughly, Raphael took a deep breath and stepped into the dark Dungeon.

Raphael's body shook slightly as he entered the dungeon, when he opened his eyes again, he was already inside the dungeon. Inside the Dungeon the only source of light was from the torches mounted on the walls.

Even though he was afraid, Raphael tried to be brave, he started to walk down the long hallway in front of him. Feeling that he needed to prepare himself, Raphael took out a dagger from the backpack he was carrying.

Raphael held the dagger in front of his body while looking left and right just in case there were monsters around.

Occasionally Raphael looked behind him to see his other friends, but no one entered after that, he didn't even see anyone here, even though he wasn't the first person to enter this Dungeon.

“Is the entry point different for each person? Then I can rest easy because I won't be meeting Simon,” Raphael said, finally able to breathe a sigh of relief because he didn't need to meet Simon in this Dungeon.

But, just as Raphael was relieved that he didn't meet Simon, he then heard the sound of a beast growling that made his body immediately alert. Raphael recalled that he was currently in the Dungeon, his life still not secure even if he didn't meet Simon here.

“I still have to finish this trial,” Raphael muttered in a low voice, he wasn't sure if he could finish this Dungeon.

Raphael continued to walk down the hall, walking for a long time without finding a single monster there. After nearly fifteen minutes of walking Raphael, he finally found a forked passage that he himself didn't know where it would lead him.

"How about now? I don't know where to go," said Raphael confused about which path to choose, because he couldn't detect anything from his current position.

After thinking for a while, Raphael decided to take the right path, he didn't know whether his choice was right or not. The reason is, Raphael can't be sure what will happen in front of him.

With full confidence, Raphael began to set foot into the right aisle he had chosen. The damp walls on the right and left of the passage made Raphael wary, even the dirt floor beneath felt a little watery which made him not very comfortable.

"Light? Does this mean I made the right choice?” muttered Raphael as he saw a light far ahead of him. At first the light was just a speck in the distance, but gradually after Raphael kept stepping forward, he could see that the light was getting bigger and bigger, until it finally dazzled his eyes.

Even though he had difficulty seeing around him, Raphael did not stop his steps, until he finally came out of the dark and damp alley. And when Raphael opened his eyes to look around him, he realized that his choice was a big mistake.

Not only did he meet a group of monsters, but Raphael also found that there was Simon and his four other friends, where they were fighting a group of monsters like Lizardon and also crocodiles who were like humans.

Raphael widened his eyes in surprise when he saw the scene in front of him, because this was the first time seeing a group of monsters like this. Moreover, it was added with Simon's presence there that made Raphael even more wary.

“You damn loser! Don't just stay there, come and help us defeat this damn monster!” shouted Simon when his eyes caught Raphael who had just come out of a hallway where they had also found them before.

Feeling that he was being summoned, Raphael was snapped out of his reverie, he looked around in panic and he brandished the dagger he was carrying in front of his body, preparing to attack the Lizardon that was closest to him.

However, before Raphael could land his attack on the Lizardon, he was already hit by the Lizardon's tail which was very sharp. Instantly fresh blood gushed out from the wound received by Raphael, he groaned and because of Lizardon's attack the dagger that Raphael was holding was released from his grip.

“Arrgghh...” Raphael groaned in pain as he felt the pain from the attack, he immediately stepped back to avoid the Lizardon.

Simon, who saw this from a distance, gritted his teeth in annoyance. It turned out that once a loser will always be a loser. “Tch! The loser is useless. You all help me defeat this damn monster, after that let's take care of that bastard.” Simon glanced at Raphael from the corner of his eye angrily, he had wrongly hoped that the loser would help in the current tense situation.

We can see Simon and his four friends starting to slaughter the Monsters one by one. From a distance Raphael could see how they were swinging their swords very skillfully, moreover Simon, every time he swung his sword, Raphael could see that the monster's head was immediately cut off from the neck.

Raphael was really amazed by what happened in front of him, it turned out that Simon's great strength was not just a mere boast, it was true that the figure of the man who bullied him was very great, it was only natural that the people in the orphanage where they lived said that Simon was one of the strongest yany youth there.

Raphael realized that right now he was in danger, so he decided to run away from there, if he stayed here, then his life could be lost.

Especially before that Raphael had made Simon furious with himself being useless in this battle. Raphael had to get away from Aini before Simon finished his battle with the Monsters.

“But, where should I go now?” muttered Raphael confused where to go because as far as his eyes could see, he only saw many passages like the way he entered here.

Even worse, when Raphael was about to leave there, he felt a sword flying towards him. Raphael tiptoed from his spot when he saw a sword stuck right next to his leg.

Raphael's eyes bulged when he saw a sword next to his feet, he slowly turned his head back and found that Simon was staring at him intently. Raphael saw that Simon was walking towards him with an evil grin on his face, Raphael subconsciously took a step back with a scared face.
