Chapter 8 Scout

Anthony rushed toward the demon girl but she was already gone, "what did she came to do he" thought in his mind,the demon king sure is joking with all of us.

The mages that was cut in the neck was still been treated his wound was fatal but the healing duke manage to get it under control but he was unconscious,he was taken away by other mages and the duke followed them.

This man sure is very strong he was on equal term with the fifth maybe even faster than her if the battle had lasted long he would have had a chance to beat her.

"He really is on another level even more than we dukes,you are right lucky we have him on our side" two of the dukes were talking to them self.

"What was that about?" Anthony asked Damien, why did she leave besides that,she said she got what she wanted right,what did she get? he asked.

"I think she wanted to see how well you fight and maybe why you fight so well,maybe that is her mission from the demon king" Damien replied.

"Master I am back" Anni the fifth high rank demon said bowing down to the demon king, "Anni did you see him and was the rumors true?" the demon king asked, "I did see him master and he was strong but he will be no match for you" she said.

"I know he will be no match for me but it has been long that I battled someone, is he a magician or a swordsman as they say", "he is a swordsman but he still need the same magical orb that the magicians use", "what does he need it for?" the demon king asked

Maybe it is his source of power too she answered him, "hmm, maybe it's time I make an entrance and burn that city to the ground" the demon king smirked.

"Anni, yes master,get me one of your girls i want to have a little fun" the demon king said, Anni smiled, "okay master she said" as she left.

Anthony returned back to the academy and was met with questions from his students, after explaining what happened to them their training resumed.

After a while all the dukes were summoned by the grand duke including Anthony he was now part of the council, "we need to protect the city immediately" one of the dukes said, you are right, "for the demon king to send the fifth that means trouble so we need to act fast" the grand duke said.

"Damien how is the barrier orb that you have been working on?" the grand duke asked him, I have stabilized it but still need time so what happened wouldn't repeat it self, Anthony looked at all the dukes then he looked at the grand duke and shook his head.

"What is wrong?" the grand duke asked him, "instead of waiting here improving your barrier technology why not take the fight to the demon king" Anthony said, all the dukes looked at Anthony with amusement, "do you know how strong the demon king is" a duke said.

"We will take the fight to him if we are strong enough to defeat him" the grand duke said,  "and when will that be" Anthony said, "and why don't you go outside of the wall?" Anthony asked, "hmm outside, they was a time when we created a group known as the scout which was lead by one of the past duke".

"Their job was to venture outside the wall and report back, but one time they claimed to have found the demon king lair and they were going to inspect it and that was the last we heard from the scout" the grand duke said.

"So we didn't think of going outside of the wall till we have a way of winning against the demon king" the grand duke explained, "what we need is a new scout group" Anthony said, new scout group the dukes looked at them self.

"It will be lead by me and the members will be my three student" Anthony said with confidence, "what do you mean by that" one of the duke said, his name was Julius, you want students that have not been full fledged magician to be scout and venture outside the wall,do you want them to die he shouted.

My brother is right another duke said a female named Julian, there were twin.

I think so too another duke said, Anthony smiled and said, "one, they are not your students they are mine,and two, do you know have any idea the kind of training they go through and how strong they are, and beside I will be the one to lead them so no harm can come to them" Anthony said boldly.

The grand duke looked at Anthony, "I wish we had more people like this" the grand duke said inwardly, "the scout group shall be recreated with Anthony as it leader" the grand duke spoke, "what! Julius said, grand duke you need to reconsider this"he said, I have spoken and that is final the grand duke said, Julius was angry it was visible in his face but he kept his cool.

The meeting was over and Julius approach Anthony and told him that to be careful that outside of the wall is not a place to be,Anthony wondered what he meant by that but didn't think much about it.
