Mysterious man paid the bills

"What's the matter, Angela?" Edward inquired, concerned.

"Answer me truthfully, Edward," Angela began. "Where did you get such an amount of money?"

The question came out of the blue for Edward,he didn't expect such question when he only spent a little amount of money. A security guard having $10,000 wasn't something that looked suspicious. Angela's question now made Edward realized how poor he was to other people's eyes to the extent that they assumed he had no scent.

"I-i have been saving it up since i began my security job." Edward replied,saddness written evident on his face.

"Hey,i didn't mean it like that" Angela patted his shoulder "I was just afraid that maybe you joined a gang that pays high. Joining a gang is dangerous, i wouldn't want anything happen to you,Ed."

Angela has always cared about Edward ever since he moved to that apartment 7 years ago. She didn't see any difference between both of them since Edward was also from a poor background,the only difference she saw was the fact that Edward has no family. Since then she took him as a family and would always worry about him like he was her brother.

"You don't have to worry,Angela" Edward replied with an assuring smile,"I'm not in any gang,the money was earned through my sweat." Edward ruffled his finger in Angela's hair to cheer her up.

"Promise me you won't get involved in anything relating to gangs." Angela demanded,grabbing onto Edward's palm.

"I promise." Edward assured,"Now let's go pick up our provision,i need to get few foodstuffs and a new bed,a new chair,a new carpet. Ten thousand dollars would cover those stuffs right?" Edward inquired,Angela gave a nod in reply.

The duo began their shopping,Edward kept ordering the workers around like he was the boss. He made them bring all the couches they had in the shop,then later chose from the first one.

After shopping for few minutes,they finally bought all they needed. Edward paid for Angela's mom's food stuffs and also gave her a good amount of provision for she and her dad.

"How do you plan on carrying all this to your apartment?" The boss asked,glancing at the goods Edward purchased.

"That's why you employed more than 30 workers,right?" Edward said with a smirk,"They'll be the ones carrying it over to my apartment!"

Edward made the last sentence louder making the shop workers stopped what they were doing and glared at him with hate.

"We can always use our truck to take it to your place,free of charge." The boss suggested.

"Nah,the street leading to my apartment is kind of bad,i wouldn't want a bumpy ride ruin the fragile goods in there." Edward replied,glaring back at the workers with a mischievious smirk.

"Very well then,I'll order some of my boys to get it to your apartment." The boss uttered,shifting his gaze to the workers behind him,the workers quickly looked away to avoid eyecontact. "Pedro,Johnson,Matthew,David,help this young man carry his goods to his apartment."

The workers that were selected almost cursed Edward out loud,but they managed to surpress their anger and just obey,afraid they might get fired like Kate.

"Will you wait for me or go and i'll meet you there when i'm done?" Edward asked.

"Meet me there when you are done,i'll be expecting you." Angela replied with a smile,exiting the supermarket with her big bag of provision.

Edward gave out instructions to the workers on how he wanted his goods to be carried,making sure they suffered while carrying it.

"Aren't we there yet?"

"Dude,we have been working for hours!"

"Are you sure you know your home address?!"

The workers kept complaing while carrying the load under the hot morning sun,causing them to sweat buckets full.

After few minutes of walking,they finally arrived at Edward's building.

"Ok,now help me carry them to the top floor,that's where i stay." Edward ordered,proceeding in entering the building and climbing the steps. The workers almost cursed Edward out loud after finding out he stayed at the top floor.

They struggled through the staircase,until they finally arrived at Edward's room.

"Alright,leave them here and get the hell out of here." Edward said in a commanding tone,making the workers vanish instantly to avoid more chores.

Edward managed to drag the chairs and other provisions inside his room before locking it up and headed out.

The Brickwoods general hospital was located at heart of Brickwoods. A tall skyscraper with lots of modern designs and a huge red cross in the middle.

The hospital was always crowded with people and patients. Due to the high rate of crimes in Brickwoods,new patients were brought in every morning after suffering a gang attack.

Inside one of the ward,Angela sat beside her mom on a bed covered in white sheets. Her mom's eyes were opened,yet she was uncouncious about what was going on around her.

She couldn't move or speak,just laying down there motionless for the past three years.

Angela grasped unto her mother's palm and wept bitterly,she has always tried to hold in her tears when she was around people,but deep down she was hurting badly.

Angela poured out her tears,angry for the fact that she can't do anything to change her situation. Angela tried doing lots of jobs around Brickwoods,but the little penny she got wasn't close to the $500,000 the doctor demanded.

While Angela was busy weeping,a certain someone was peeking through the opened part of the door.

'I can't keep letting her suffer like this. I have to use my wealth for good even if i get caught in the action.' Edward thought,exiting the ward and headed down to the doctor's office.

The doctors office was located at the top floor of the hospital,you either get there through staircase or the elevator.

Edward walked towards the elevator,he pressed the button and the elevator's door slid open,allowing him to walk in.

The elevator took him all the way to the top without stress.

Ding*

The elevator chimed and the door slid open,Edward stepped out and walked to the door infront of him.

Before Edward knocked,he made sure his hoodie was covering his head and part of his face,to avoid unnecessary questions.

Knock* Knock*

"Come in!" A sweet female's voice sounded from inside the office,Edward straightened his faded cloth before walking in.

"How may i help you,Sir?" The lady spoke. The lady wasn't looking bad at all,long blonde hair that touched her waist,a heart like shaped face and a hot body. Even if she was wearing a white overall,her beautiful shape was still visible.

"Uh..i'm here for the patient known as,Caitlyn Alvarez." Edward replied,his head facing the ground to avoid eye contact with her.

The doctor took out a huge register and flipped through the pages for some seconds,until she finally stopped in a certain page.

"Ok? Do you wish to visit her? You could have just gone to the receptionist instead of coming up here." The female doctor said politely.

"I'm not here to visit her,i heard her family was suppose to provide a certain amount of money before she can be treated?" Edward inquired.

"Yes,They are to pay $500,000 and they are yet to deposit anything. We already informed that if they are unable to pay up by month end,she would be discharged from the hospital." The female doctor replied.

"Like i said,i'm not here for visitation,instead i'm here to clear the debt of Mrs Caitlyn Alvarez." Edward spoke confidently,causing the doctor to glance at him from head to toe.

How on earth was this poor looking guy with torn hoodie and tattered shoe be able to afford such ammount of money? That was the doctor's thought.

"Please i have pending matters to attend to,i don't have time to waste,youngman." The doctor replied with a slightly annoyed look,watching the strange man infront of her take out a strange credit card and place it on the table.

Angela was done crying,and was now telling her mom about what she has been up to lately and how her dad is doing his best to raise the money.

The entrance door of the ward swung open and different nurses and doctors rushed in with different types of treating equipments.

"What's going on?" Angela asked with a puzzled expression.

"You'll have to excuse us,young lady,we have to begin the operation immediately." A doctor said,putting on a white mask on his face.

"What do you mean?" Angela inquired.

"Someone payed your mother's bills. She'll receive treatments imnediately." The doctor replied
