Wealth System After Being Cheated

Anniversary day + heartbreak day

"What did you buy those pretty flowers for, Melvin?"

Steve was puzzled to see Melvin carrying such pretty flowers when he entered the café. Today they had agreed to meet for a while at the café. Melvin was going to surprise Hasley, who had been his girlfriend for three years. Today was the anniversary of their relationship and flowers were a simple gift that Melvin always gave to his girlfriend because he didn't have enough money to buy expensive gifts. And all this time Hasley had understood his situation as a cafe waitress.

"I bought these of course for my girlfriend, Steve. Today my relationship with Hasley is exactly three years,"

"Really? Wow, it's been a long time. But it looks like your girlfriend is getting tired of being in a relationship with you, Melvin."

Steve's words certainly confused Melvin. Hasley had never shown any signs that she was bored with him. Hasley had been a good woman and so understanding of his situation who was not a rich man.

"What do you mean, Steve?"

"Yes, I think so."

"What makes you think that? Hasley loves me, and I love her too. She can't possibly get tired of me, because I'll never get tired of being with her either,"

"Yes, that's you. But what about Hasley? It seems like she's already bored with you, Melvin"

Melvin was annoyed when Steve tried to influence his mind. He believed Hasley. His girlfriend couldn't be bored with him but Steve still made him worry with his words about Hasley.

"What did you say just now, Steve? Don't be like that, are you accusing my lover?"

"I wasn't accusing. I said that because just a few minutes ago I saw Hasley with another man and she looked very happy,"

"Well it could have been Hasley's friend,"

Steve chuckled at Melvin's statement who didn't believe that his girlfriend had cheated on him. Not only did she talk with another man with a happy face but Hasley also kissed the man before they finally parted.

"I just want to tell you about one fact," Steve said as he stood up and then put his arm around the shoulders of a confused Melvin.

"Your Hasley has cheated on you."

Melvin immediately looked at Steve with an angry face. Melvin wasn't happy when Steve said that. He believed in Hasley. He was sure Hasley wouldn't betray her behind his back.

"No way, we love each other, Steve,"

"Ah well if you don't believe it. But, before you came earlier I saw her with a man. And they kissed, that you should know! So that you can rethink before continuing your relationship until the fourth anniversary of your relationship," Steve said and sat down again. After Steve said that, Melvin immediately fell silent. He was starting to doubt now. So far, as long as he was friends with Steve, he had never been lied to by Steve.

"Are you honest, Steve?" Melvin asked, which was immediately answered with a nod of Steve's head.

"Of course. I'm very honest. There will come a time when it will all come out," Steve said casually.

Melvin was getting more and more uneasy and he wanted to prove the truth of Steve's words as soon as possible so that he could calm down. He had to know if it was true that his girlfriend had cheated on him with another man. If it was true, Melvin didn't know what to do. He really hates infidelity because he is a child who is a victim of parental infidelity. His father cheated behind his mother's back when he was a teenager and that led to their separation, and then he went to live with his mother. The economic condition that immediately declined made Melvin have to be willing to work hard to help his mother since he was not yet an adult, and until now where he has reached adulthood.

"I have to prove it now so I can rest easy. I'll go first, Steve,"

"Alright, be careful. But how do you find out the truth?"

"I also don't know what methods I can use but I believe bad things can't be hidden for too long. The time will come for it to be exposed."

Steve smiled and nodded his head. He hoped Melvin would find out about his girlfriend's affair soon. Because he didn't want Melvin, a good man, to be with a bad woman for too long.

"Oh yeah I want to add one more fact, Melvin,"

Steve's words succeeded in making Melvin undo his intention to leave the cafe. Melvin immediately looked at Steve curiously.

"What is it, Steve? Tell me quickly."

"I didn't just see Hasley with another man once, this is the third time, and the man I met is always the same. That's why I dare to tell you this. When I met them the first time, and the second time I still tried to think positively. Maybe they were just friends so I didn't say anything to you because I didn't want to ruin my friend and her boyfriend's relationship. But when I saw them again earlier, I couldn't think positively anymore, Melvin. I don't want you to keep being fooled by your own girlfriend. If she's cheating on you, it means she's not a good woman for you."

"If that's the case, I don't know why she did it. What did I do wrong, Steve?"

"Because you're not established yet, maybe," Steve said, which immediately made Melvin exhale harshly. Infidelity is definitely wrong, especially if the reason is because he's not established yet.

"Alright I'll go first, Steve, thanks for telling me about something. Although I want to find out the truth, I thank you for making me more vigilant. Now I don't want to trust women too much,"

"I hope you can make a wise decision,"

Melvin nodded his head then left leaving Steve who was still in the cafe. Steve hoped the best for his friend.

Melvin walked with certainty with the bucket of flowers in his hand. He had always been enthusiastic when he wanted to give something to his girlfriend. But this time was different. He was more enthusiastic about finding evidence of his girlfriend's infidelity.

On his way, Melvin was accidentally hit by someone and it made him fall down.

Melvin was angry because the person who hit him just disappeared. Not apologizing let alone admitting his mistake. After Melvin managed to stand up suddenly there was a voice and the system panel was clearly visible in front of his eyes.

"System?" Mumbled Melvin who was confused whether he was hallucinating.

Melvin closed his eyes briefly while shaking his head. He assumed it was a hallucination. Then he continued his journey to Hasley's house, his girlfriend with whom he had been in a relationship for three years.

Arriving at Hasley's house, Melvin looked at Hasley's open gate from a distance. He immediately approached and he saw a car.

"Guests?" Melvin muttered then looked at the flower in his hand. He didn't know what the fate of this flower would be. Would it end up in Hasley's hands or would he throw it away after he found out the truth that Hasley was cheating on him.

Melvin stepped confidently towards Hasley's door which was also open, just like the gate.

Right in front of the door, he saw Hasley and a man kissing with Hasley on the bottom and the man on top of her. Hasley had even partially removed her clothes.

Melvin froze, his heart aching. After three years of giving Hasley his full trust, Hasley had betrayed him.

Without Melvin realizing it, his hands clenched into fists and he stared at what Hasley was doing with that man with disgust.

"How could you, Hasley. So how long has it been since you betrayed me? Huh?" Melvin asked in a stern voice and that instantly made the two people who were busy kissing suddenly stop and their faces panicked.

Hasley immediately closed her shirt and stood up perfectly, and so did the man. Hasley looked at Melvin with a tense face and gaze.

"It turns out I was wrong to ever fully trust you, Hasley. You were so evil to cheat on me behind my back. I really didn't expect it. I just want to know, what is the reason you did this? Hurry up and explain it to me now!" Melvin said in a loud voice and immediately threw away the bucket of flowers in his hand. Hasley and the man were shocked when they saw Melvin's anger.
