Chapter 8

Weiwei Xing, however, noticed Drew's growing jealousy and swiftly intervened to soothe his ego. "Don't mind them, Drew. In a month's time, they'll be divorced anyway. I'm guessing this is Diana's way of paying him back - just one of her smiles can make that fool happy for decades, even in his grave.

"You don't have to stress yourself, Aunt. He isn't worth getting annoyed over." Drew said, trying to hide his true feelings of jealousy.

"Truly, I have nothing to worry about. If I had met you four years ago, I would have insisted that my daughter marry you instead of that worthless individual. You, Drew, are the epitome of every girl's dream. So, please, be at peace and observe how I will make my daughter yours within a month," Weiwei Xing said softly, her words dripping with sincerity.

"Aunt, you've suddenly filled me with joy," Drew replied, a smile spreading across his face. "As a token of gratitude, I'll order the most expensive drink for you, and not just for you, but for that charming but useless gentleman as well. He should feel privileged to indulge in such a luxury." With a raised voice, Drew called out to the waiter, "Waiter! Bring me your most expensive wine from the reserve, and if possible, bring two bottles immediately!"

The waiter, who had already pegged Drew as a wealthy individual, nodded respectfully and hurried off to retrieve the drinks. He soon returned, placing the bottles on the table with a flourish, his movements punctuated by a subtle bow.

"Since I've extended an invitation to everyone, it's only fitting that we all raise our glasses together and savor the drink to our hearts' content. Come, let's indulge in this exquisite beverage!" Drew declared with pride.

"Thank you so much, Drew," the guests chimed in unison.

"Wow, this drink is incredibly delicious! I've never tasted anything quite like it," one of the women exclaimed.

Drew chuckled, "Hahaha, this drink is nothing, really. Back in my homeland, I enjoy it every other day."

As the women continued to fawn over Drew, attempting to curry favor with the affluent socialite, Jaxon and Diana quietly sipped their wine, ignoring the subtle jabs aimed at Jaxon from time to time. Finally, after Drew felt he had sufficiently bonded with Weiwei Xing, he glanced at his watch and announced, "It's almost midnight. Since we've all indulged in the feast and drinks to our satisfaction, I believe it's time to bid each other farewell and head home."

Turning to the waiter, Drew boomed in a louder voice, "Waiter! What's the total bill? Ah, never mind, just deduct it from my ATM card." With a flourish, he produced a sleek, metallic design card, which one of the women recognized, prompting her to blurt out, "A Wells Fargo Private Bank card?! The card reserved for clients with significant wealth of about 5 million dollars, offering personalized banking services, investment management, and access to exclusive events?! How impressive! I can't believe Drew has reached such an elevated status!"

Upon hearing those words, Drew glanced at Diana and noticed her subtle look of surprise, which filled him with immense satisfaction. However, when he turned to Jaxon, he saw an unimpressed expression, which led Drew to huff and think to himself, "Apparently, he has no idea about the value of this card, which is why he's not impressed. Typical local man, lacking refinement."

The waiter, with a professional tone, requested, "Sir, please enter your PIN." Drew promptly complied. However, the waiter then apologized, "I'm sorry, sir, but your funds are insufficient."

Drew's voice rose in annoyance, "What do you mean by that?! I have over 6.5 million Yuan in that account, and you're telling me this?! Do you want to embarrass me in front of these people?" He felt like the hotel waiter was intentionally trying to tarnish his image.

The waiter, remaining apologetic, explained, "I'm sorry, sir, but your funds are indeed insufficient. Let me break it down for you. You have approximately 6.5 million Yuan in your account, but the total cost of your order exceeds that amount. Let's calculate it together: you ordered two bottles of Armand de Brignac Midas, the world's most expensive drink, priced at $500,000 per bottle. That's a total of 2 x $500,000 = $1,000,000. Additionally, you ordered two plates of Almas Caviar, the world's most expensive food, priced at $100,000 per kilogram, with 100g (0.1 kg) per plate. That's 2 x $100,000 x 0.1 kg = $20,000. You also ordered a Golden Opulence Sundae, priced at $1,000,000 per serving, and a bottle of 1945 Mouton Rothschild wine, priced at $290,000. Your total cost comes out to be $1,000,000 (drinks) + $20,000 (food) + $1,000,000 (sundae) + $290,000 (wine) = $2,310,000."

"Two million three hundred ten thousand dollars! We only eat food and drinks, not whales and holy water!" Drew burst out, his voice laced with indignation. "You must be trying to cheat us!"

The waiter attempted to explain, "I am not trying to—"

But Drew cut him off, his tone escalating. "Shut up! I wouldn't believe a word you're saying!"

The waiter tried again, "I mean—"

Drew interrupted once more, his voice booming. "Stop lying! This dish isn't that expensive!"

The waiter, maintaining his professionalism, reminded Drew, "Sir, please reduce your voice as there are other customers in the establishment who—"

But Drew wouldn't let him finish. "Why should I bother when you're trying to cheat me?!"

"Is there an issue here?" The manager, who seemed to have heard the commotion, quickly appeared, dressed in a stylish tuxedo. The handsome young manager asked, his tone calm and collected.

"Wrong?!" Drew's voice rose in indignation. "Everything is wrong with your hotel! Can you believe your waiter over here is trying to cheat me out of my money?"

Hearing those words, the manager looked at the waiter with a questioning gaze, to which the waiter immediately handed him the bill. The manager carefully went through it, scrutinizing each item, before shaking his head and saying, "I'm sorry, sir, for the misunderstanding."

Hearing those words, a relief smile appeared on Drew's face, which was immediately replaced with a scowl as the manager continued, "But, the dishes and drinks are more expensive than that, and we even gave you a 7 percent discount since you are a new customer to our establishment."

"Bullshit!" Drew lost his temper, slamming his fist on the table, prompting one of the cups that sat at the edge to fall and break into pieces. Not even bothered, he continued, "Your restaurant must be selling something evil, and I will make sure to report you to the state FBI if you dare mess with me."

"We have surveillance footage to prove to you that you ordered at your own convenience," the manager calmly stated, his tone firm but polite. He felt disappointed, thinking he had encountered a high-rolling "big fish" customer, but it turned out that Drew was just someone without substantial means trying to show off.

"I didn't order for—" Drew began, but his words trailed off as he turned to Jaxon with a menacing glare. "Bastard! You knew this was expensive, right?! You're trying to fuckin' set me up, ain't ya?!" he exclaimed, his voice rising in anger.

Jaxon responded with a jesting tone, his innocent smile contrasting with Drew's hostility. "Huh? You told me to order whatever I want, right? Also, watch your language. You definitely don't want to show a bad image before your fans of elderly women, right?" he said, his words dripping with sarcasm.
