Chapter 7

"Even with an opportunity, you still can't appreciate it, truly you are a waste!"

The crowd of women immediately start throwing either advices or insults on him as soon as Weiwei Xing cursed him. They suddenly found him full of a fake sense of superiority and pride while he was actually someone who rely on his wife for everything.

As Jaxon spoke, Drew maintained his gentle smile, but inwardly, his expression turned colder by the second. If not for Diana's and Weiwei Xing's presence, he wouldn't have hesitated to unleash his wrath on Jaxon for his audacity. People like Jaxon, who were deemed useless in society, had no chance of ever crossing paths with someone like him, and yet, here Jaxon was, meeting him and still behaving with prideful arrogance.

Drew's thoughts seethed with contempt, his mind racing with the audacity of Jaxon's words. How dare he question his offer? Didn't he know who he was dealing with?

Here is a rewritten version of the text with a more polished tone and no word count limitations:

"Hahaha, there's no need for you all to hurl insults at him. As a young man, I can understand where he's coming from. This isn't the old age where people are willing to start from scratch. As a young man, I know he has pride. Just look at his appearance. Anyway, slow down; the food isn't escaping," Drew said with a chuckle, attempting to diffuse the tension.

Weiwei Xing snorted in disdain, "Tsk, where would he have gotten the money to eat such expensive food?"

Drew smiled generously, "Oh, is that true? Then, Jaxon, order whatever you wish to eat in this life. Trust me, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The bill is on me."

One of the women praised, "I've never seen a generous man like Drew. Despite Jaxon's rude manner, he still went as far as to give him the chance to eat whatever he wished for. This is what I call being down-to-earth."

Drew's gesture was met with admiration from the others, but Jaxon's expression remained unimpressed.

"You sure wouldn't mind if I order for 'anything' right?" With a light smile on his face, Jaxon picked the menu as he asked for affirmation.

"I know the prices of most of the dishes in the menu are enough to feed you for 5 years but it is nothing to be scared of," Drew said with pride as he sip his wine, "I have eaten what is even more expensive than those."

"Looks like the prices scared him away." Weiwei Xing said mockingly.

Hearing their words, Jaxon couldn't help but smile as he wrote down his order.

After placing an order, the waiter who took it couldn't help but feel a bit surprised as he asked, "are you certain you want to order for this?"

"What? Are you looking down on me? Do I look like I can't afford it? Heck I can buy even your hotel if I want." Drew cursed as he felt embarrassed for the waiter for who looking down on him when he was trying to show off.

"Infact, bring two of each dish written on those menu." Drew added cooly.

Hearing his words, the waiter felt surprised but immediately he called his colleagues and they began serving those dishes. Immediately, they brought the pizza which was a masterclass in excess, a decadent indulgence for the senses. The lobster and foie gras were expertly arranged, like a still life painting of opulence. The truffle oil added a subtle depth, while the 24K gold leaves provided a touch of luxury. It was a dish that demanded attention, a culinary statement piece.

Jaxon didn't immediately start eating; instead, he calmly gazed at Derek, who was sneaking a peek at his 'wife' before an idea struck him. With an innocent smile, Jaxon picked up the plate containing his food, sliced it, and brought it towards Diana, saying, "Hey Diana, try it. I can proudly say it's tasty."

Instinctively, Diana, who had never been fed by a man before, wanted to reject the offer, but seeing Derek sneaking a lustful glance at her body made her want to remind him that she was married. Without hesitation, she took a bite of the lobster. "Mmm, this is the most delicious food I've ever eaten. How did you know it was this good?" Diana asked, her curiosity evident in her eyes.

"Easy," Jaxon replied with a smile, "I've always wished to taste different foods, so I browse and got to know about some of the most interesting dishes." He handed Diana the plate of lobster which she subconsciously accepted and start eating without knowing, his eyes sparkling with a knowing glint as he watched Drew's face turn unsightly, he couldn't help but wished to toy with Drew again

"Ah," Diana suddenly gasped, her face flushing beet red as she realized her mistake. "I didn't mean to devour the whole lobster and foie gras... I..."

Jaxon's smile grew wider, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "No need to apologize, my dear. Seeing you savor every bite was my utmost pleasure. You deserve to indulge in the finest things life has to offer."

Diana rolled her eyes, trying to play it cool despite her embarrassment. "Oh, please, don't try to charm me with your smooth talk. You must still get a job."

Jaxon chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Hehehe, if you want, you can finish the whole plate and I wouldn't mind one bit. After all, a stunning wife like you deserves to be treated like royalty, with a side of love... and maybe a few love bites, too." He winked, his words dripping with playful flirtation.

Diana's face grew even redder as she playfully hit him on the stomach, her annoyed glare only making her look more adorable. "Jaxon!" she said, her voice laced with a hint of laughter which even she was bewildered about.

Jaxon's grin never wavered, his eyes locked on hers with a mischievous glint. "That's what makes life with me so exciting, my love."

"Diana, a small dish like this shouldn't be enough to make someone from a prestigious 2nd-class noble family like yourself smile so brightly. It's just a lobster, which I eat daily back in my home country," Drew muttered under his breath, his envy growing with each passing moment. His tone was low, and Diana pretended not to hear him, or perhaps she genuinely didn't catch his comment.

Weiwei Xing, however, noticed Drew's growing jealousy and swiftly intervened to soothe his ego. "Don't mind them, Drew. In a month's time, they'll be divorced anyway. I'm guessing this is Diana's way of paying him back - just one of her smiles can make that fool happy for decades, even in his grave.

"You don't have to stress yourself, Aunt. He isn't worth getting annoyed over." Drew said, trying to hide his true feelings of jealousy.
