Chapter 14 - Time to Prove

Some fights go on but eventually, Tanji’s time comes.

From the monitor, a sound is played. “NEXT MATCH. TANJI BJORNULFSSON VS LIAM BARAEK!”

Tanji exhales slowly and thinks “This is it. Time to prove myself!!”

He stands onto the large, white ring. His opponent, Liam, steps up on the ring also. He is about his height and muscle. This time, a school teacher tells the fight to start “3.. 2.. 1.. FIGHT!”

Liam smirks and says “I remember you. You’re the human from Balssop.” Tanji replies. “Well I don’t know you.”

Liam laughs condescendingly and says “Of course not I didn’t go to the school! I just helped try to kill you.” Tanji clenches his fists and says “You did what?!” He remembers the traumatic scene and remembers his face just before he dropped to the ground. Streams of qi steam off of his body and his muscles enlarge. Liam looks in shock at what’s going on and thinks. “I thought he just got past the first stage and would lose cuz he’s human! He’s no human anymore! Anyway, late bloomers are always weak.”

He shifts into the certain shift level of a teen Beta Werewolf. Basically the same as what Harry Otxoa had, and the other werewolf bullies. He rushes at Tanji on all fours. He flips forward and leaps sky-high, right at Tanji. All Tanji has to do is sidestep and he dodges the attack as a whole. He lands and says “Liam! Don’t make such obvious attacks!” He turns and his golden eyes blaze at him in fury. His whole body turns with his head before he rushes at Tanji. He leaps last second and throws a hook but Tanji ducks right under it. Liam looks in confusion at the sight. He is then elbowed in his tough ribs. He is shaken up by this attack but he is quickly kicked right in his back. He falls forward and rolls to gain eye contact with his opponent behind him. He says “You’re dead!!” He rushes at Tanji and leaps but not too high. He leaps sideways and it makes him a whole of a lot faster.

He throws his vehement punch at Tanji but it is futile. His arms flood with grey-white energy. The energy steams and emits off of Tanji’s arms like a cloak or a shield. He smirks before the punch lands. His body doesn’t move one inch. The attack is merely tanked by him and he receives no injury except for some light pain. He kicks in Liam’s knee and he instantly drops to one knee as if he’s a king. To him, he might as well be. He stands over Liam with his fists clenched and his eyes looking directly at his soul. He mutters shakily “Just w-what are you?” He smirks and the qi disperses off of his body. His eyes glow golden just like Liam himself. His eyes widen. He says “I’m a werewolf. Let’s just say there’s been a lot of dilution.” His eyes quickly fade back to his normal yellow eye colour and the qi forms once again. His right arm glows in the Power Fist’s aura before he proceeds to punch Liam right in the side of his open chin. It literal cracks on impact and pops out of place. He drops to the ground and his head looks destroyed.

Tanji just steps off of the ring and the teacher says “TANJI BJORNULFSSON!! WINNER!” He smiles and utters to himself “Yes!” He goes up to the spectator rooms and waits patiently for his next match.

The next match for Tanji eventually comes.

He is against a 7ft 1 14 year old. Alden Na’este. He is very lean but he is still strong. He is half-ghoul half-wendigo.

Wendigos are large humanoid beings that feast on raw flesh. They used to eat human flesh but they found a way to use certain chemicals and animal flesh to satisfy the wendigo’s strong desire for human flesh. They are tall and lean. They still have supernatural strength its just that they are lean.

Tanji thinks “This guy is gonna be strong! I can tell.” The teacher says “3.. 2.. 1.. GO!!”

Alden starts off the fight quickly with a blast of ghoul fire. Tanji slips under the fireball just in the nick of time. He rolls forward and he uses his qi. Alden throws a punch and the gust of wind released makes Tanji’s hair flow in the opposite direction of the fist violently. Tanji rushes forwards and turns to get gut punched. He spits blood and feels, first-hand, the power of this guy. He is hooked across his face after. He stumbles back a little and begins to formulate a plan. “This guy is strong! Qi Rush it is.” His qi flows more violently then spins around his body. It becomes more violent then air spits out from his location is bursts. He then follows by rushing right at Alden.

He leaps strongly off of his foot and takes the short time he has to throw a flurry of attacks. He throws 3 consecutive punches and Alden is forced to block all three. Tanji then finalised the barrage with a hefty sweep kick.

Alden gets hit in his arm and falls back two steps. Tanji lands and thinks “He just fell back two steps! I put everything into that!!” He shows a minor sign of fear but quickly steps back up. Ghoul fire spawns below his feet and he quickly leaps out. He lands next to the fire and rushes right back at Alden.

He slides under a fireball and bounces up towards Alden with his power fist. He hits it, luckily, right in Alden’s elbow and causes some moderate damage. It is major compared to the damage he’s been dealing beforehand. Alden grabs his elbow in discomfort but the injured bone is quickly healed.

That same arm buffs up and goes a duller grey colour. Tanji says in his head in reaction to this “Do all ghouls have this power? I’ve never seen it.” That same arm steams with power and rage and Alden prepares himself. Tanji locks up his stance and prepares for an onslaught. A large fireball is firstly launched right to him. He quickly sidesteps and exhales slowly. He does this to keep calm and not do anything stupid that could make him lose the fight. Alden then rushes right at him. He throws the punch with his grey-skinned arm and fire engulfs his fist. He shouts “Na’este True Fist!!”
