PRE-DINNER TREATS

A few hours before lunch, somewhere in the mountain village, an elderly couple were talking to three young men on their porch. One of them had already parked a uniquely styled and customized jeep in front of the house and joined the four on the front porch for cookies and lemonade.

“I’m just thankful that at least now we know you will be having dinner with us. We were waiting for Jack to finalize a date for us,” said the only female as she gave a glass of lemonade to the hazel-eyed young man sitting opposite her at the porch table.

“I’m sorry, it’s not really his fault. There’s been a lot of things happening out of the blue, like us being here right now at your home, Ma’am,” the young handsome male said as he took the glass and sipped it, enjoying how cold and delicious the drink was.
